This nation is having it rough at this time.things are tough and inflation has become like a virus on the economy, Nigerians known for our ability to endure tough situations are really getting uncomfortable with this. When the former CBN Governor Charles Soludo Introduced the N500 note, we were all happy for an increase in higher purchasing power, we thought it was going to be the highest denomination but now we hope the Central bank doesn't introduce N5000 note on the current 1000 Naira note which stands as Nigeria highest denomination. source : http://www.voiceofaudacity.com/2016/09/recessionten-things-n500-cannot-buy.html?m=1 44 Likes 3 Shares

Yes, economy is harsh but majority of the stuffs you have there can be done with N500. With the exemption of Soup & fuel/generator, every other thing can be done with N500. Everyone is not as wasteful as t-billz abeg. Meanwhile, N500 cannot make an OK Soup, unless you want to substitute fish with crayfish. A kilo of Fish (Titus) now cost N800; same with Chicken (N800); Turkey (N900) and Gizzard (N1000). So where would money for other ingredients come from? 13 Likes 2 Shares |

Acidosis:wow... kilo of chicken @ 800, Turkey @ 900? It's N1000 and N1100 here. I think 'OK soup' is subjective. There are definitely people surviving on N500 soup, how they do it is what I don't know. Na them suppose be Minister of Finance not Aunty Kemi. 29 Likes 1 Share |

SAMBARRY: Mummy Wura, long time o, please, we're talking about soup, not stew o, and where are you going to see 10naira onion? And also, do you know how many pieces of atan rodo you'll be given for 50naira? Can that be enough? Besides, no palm oil or vegetable oil? A quarter of palm oil bottle here is 125 naira, a bottle of palm oil is 500 naira, no seasoning?, no salt? Abeg, 500 naira no fit prepare soup o, except if there won't be any fish or meat inside. Things are extremely expensive. The people I pity most are the low income earners with two to three kids. We that even think we're collecting average salary sef are finding it extremely difficult to cope with the prices of foodstuffs. 23 Likes |

PaperLace: I think I'm lucky o. Last time I bought Chicken, price was N430 for 1/2 kilo, I asked how much a kilo was, I heard N800. The cost of Turkey may have increased from N900, but certainly not N1000 over here. |
