Who did Yaya play like? Who?
yaya toure at his very peak is the ceiling for Pogba, hopefully he could be even better.
they are very similar,appearance aside.
but dreaming of an exotic formation like 4-3-3 with a free role for Pogba in this team considering our coach won't happen.
pogba should be able to perform well in his current role and he Will.

Well as for me I envy what Yaya did for city but I also want Pogba to be himself and do his best as in scoring and contributing to the goals. I don't think he has to be exactly like Yaya.
Yes I know it won't/may not happen and if things go wrong come end of season Jose knows he is finished career wise. So I will just keep calm and see what he can come up with. He has my trust for now.

How Arsenal Fans still come here to troll in this thread amazes me. It should be among one of the 7 Wonders of the World. I Can't just phantom how a club who has never won trophy for as long as i could remember will still have the audacity to troll clubs who have won much more trophies than they can ever imagine in their entire existence. Their Frustration has taken another turn and can only find solitude by trolling other clubs.

I'm Just Flabbergasted. We are waiting to see how they wud fare when the play the same Man City. Just take a look at them masturbatin.g all over this thread as if it was a final match for the league cup. Mid Table Club.

City were very disciplined and that was a major plus for them. United were frustrated already after that 15-20 minutes. Most players were playing far from our goal in search of an equaliser and were required to track back. That could be exhausting. See Pep is a brilliant coach I mentioned that already. Same is Jose. I am not going to continue this back and forth with you. I don't need you to agree with me that they are both good.

The point is Pep is the better coach..

No one is saying Mourinho is not a good coach.

I ask again. Is it that Mourinho doesn't favour a playmaker in his team?
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Diademk07: 6:11pm On Sep 11, 2016
For all Stones ball plying skills, he could only managed 76% successful passing rate, while still looking clueless in defending. LOL! On the other hand, His partner Otamendi had 90% passing rate.

Pep don buy market!

I said it that Stones ball playing skills is a myth. No doubt he's got a good vision but the technique to constantly implement it is average.

There's also Sane who's bang average.. All pace without skills and little intelligence... LOL.

5 things I learnt from Saturday's game.

1. we still lack a good holding midfielder. the pair of Bailly and Blind were left exposed many times. I think Herrera did a decent job when he came on.

2. Martial should always start from the left. his form might not be so good right now but the class is always there.

3. Pogba needs to play a bit up the field. using him as a CM or DM is quite not so productive.

4. Rooney's presence in this team is no longer needed. The Fat Bleep offers next to nothing playing behind a striker and he is no good midfielder either.

5. Daley Blind is just a decent central defender. I'd love to see a Smalling Bailly partnership.

Below is what someone wrote about Rooney on facebook. Some of these things are in the video highlight I posted some pages back.
.........................

"... anything good yesterday for United came through Rooney... The goal, the chance straight after that nearly brought a goal, two really good breaks that Mkhytaryan messed up and the challenge that should have been a pen!

I think he's been much better this year. Not the Rooney of 5 years ago but much better."

But this was how Coogar convinced most people here to reduce all United's problems to a Rooney issue. There were other problems in view yesterday right from the fecal display of both Lingard and Mkhi to the pathetic display of the world's most expensive player. Then we saw a few cracks in our CB partnership. The only positions were we are very good and consistent are GK and FB.

He started Fabregas in midfield and also used modric there so yes he does. Problem is Carrick is ageing and I don't think he would have made much difference yesterday. The reason why were so bad was not because we didn't have a playmaker but rather our attackers couldn't string together 5 passes together in the first half.

Lingard and Mkhitaryan were woeful, Ibra was missing his layoffs and Rooney is just average as an AMC and limits our play.

I feel if Herrera started yesterday things might have been different because he brought tenacity and energy when he came on. If Mou can teach him to be positionally more disciplined I think he could make an excellent 6

If De Bruyne got his shot together, the scoreline would have been 3-1 if not 4-1.

If we could be woeful against City, you expect us to beat Liverpool, Tottenham AND co

the reason why I was asking for a playmaker was the frantic pace at which the match was played, most especially in the first half. The intensity was quite tiring. I don't know if Carrick will done much, but we couldn't control the game at all, couldn't string passes or even keep possession. It was awful. City practically ran us to the ground on our own turf.

I won't blame Lingard and Micki very much. It's Mourinho I fully blame. He shoulda known better which players to field, but he got his selection wrong.

And Rooney. Well, the less said about him, the better.

Still early days, but I am impressed with Zlatan. My major worry about him was that 'unseriousness' that sometimes accompanies his 'over-confidence'. He has shown a good, positive attitude on the field so far and it is heartwarming and I absolutely have no shame in eating my words if he continues this way.

Pogba, on the other hand, has just taken Welbeck's place as "my public enemy #1" - somebody should just go and shave that his hair first abeg angry angry angry

I'd give Stones all the chances possible. He is being asked to do something he has never been doing in all the years he has been playing football - which is, "don't just hoof the ball away, put it under control and try to pass. Sometimes even advance into midfield and play". You think it is an easy thing to start learning and applying now, especially in competitive games!? Anyway, the important thing is that his manager believes in him!

I thought that was his speciality since his defending is wack!

My take on yesterday's match is that we have no reason for losing the match other than because cause we has two passengers in Micki and Lingard in the first half. These two players did virtually nothing in the first half. Micki's own was just too obvious. Not saying he's a bad player but he'll have to really up his game in order to make a mark in EPL. There was a loose ball that was played into his front on the right side away from Man City's defender which he could still chase and Valencia pointed to the ball for him to chase, he just relaxed and left it for City's defender to recover the ball with no challenge. As sluggish as Mata is, he would've contested for that ball and probably won it. This is EPL where you must chase every 50 - 50 ball because you may be the lucky one.

For the umpteenth time Blind isn't a defender. We have a good defender in Smalling, one of our best two defenders last season. Why wasting him on the bench? Bailly made a miscalculation which any defender can make. But does he have at partner that can cover such mistakes? NO. Those fans comparing Blind to Smalling can now see.

Pogba needs to learn. He's a good player and he's still young. He needs to always release the ball on time for any available team mate, that's what will bring his qualities out. Not romancing the ball excessively and eventually losing possession and putting his team mates under unnecessary pressure.

The season is still a long way to go. I hope JM will learn from this and do The right thing to improve our play.

To be frank, Rooney does pose a problem for managers and other players, selection and position-wise... for me personally, I cringe when I see Mikhi out on that flanks - from what I've seen in his Dortmund games, that is not his "best" or "most influential" position!

I know Lingard and Mkhi were really bad and deserved their criticism but most of it were due to be isolated.. They had to drop deep, thereby having no space to operate while inviting lot of pressure.

Our switch to a 3-man tactic rectified that in the second half but I tell you if Martial or Rashford had started in the 1st half with the way we looked in the midfield, they would have been poor as well..

Also, nobody knows how Smalling woulda played against the fluid passing movement of City players. Are we talking of the same player that looked clueless vs Wolfsburg or at fault for all the 3 goals scored by Newcastle last season?

I'm not sure Pep really rated Stones. Me think he bought him solely to balance the ratio or English to foreign players in Man City.

But if Pep really rate him, he just might change his career.

Due to being isolated caused them to be losing possession? If that's the case all other players should've been losing it at the rate they were losing it. I believe JM started them because they can run with the ball the same way Rashford can do as well but they're more experienced. Though, I know we had problem in the midfield with the way Pogba played in that game. The fact remains they were piss poor.
