SuperS1Panther: Dont join ignorant people to be saying rubbish. Let us say 20 million people live in the SE. All of them including babies and beggars can give away N50 everyday if they think it necessary. They wont even feel it. They dont want to know who gets it. That is 1 billion naira everyday! So they can make 365 people billionaires every year! That is a minute portion very minute portion of their contribution to the GDP. Dont join ignorant people to be saying rubbish! |

What we've learnt 1. Chitgbos aren't the major contributors to the revenue generated from Lagos ports. Electronics and the rest of the things they import are only worth about 2.4% 2. They aren't the major tax payers in Lagos. 90% of Lagos state tax comes from the private sector(multi-nationals, indigenous companies) and public sector. Only 10% comes from the Informal sector *They aren't even the only ones playing in that sector* 3. They don't own the most SMEs. That's another myth. 4. After the SS, the SW contributes the most to Nigeria 5. The SE is useless to Nigeria. 6. I want them out of Nigeria before you tell me dust about how Omoajowa7 is holding you back 16 Likes 1 Share |

The number one problem with you yorubas is insincerity. A yoruba guy first opened a thread asking what the SE contributes to the economy even though this issue has been trashed on this forum countless times. The moderators did not deem it fit to close that thread, then same day an igbo chap opened a counter thread but look at you people trying to make it look like it was the igbo guy that threw the first punch. Having said, you yorubas should know that you owe whatever you think you have to the fact that Lagos was once the administrative capital of Nigeria with all the injustices upon which the country was built which allowed resources to be taken from one part to be used to develop another. Ask yourselves why your tribes people in Benin and Togo are very poor. The day this country breaks up is the day you people will be exposed. 2 Likes |

overall90: How do you mean Yorubas, Ewes and Fon in Togo and Benin are poor? Are they malnourished or going about naked? Are they complaining to you? What is your definition of poverty? They have good roads, stable power and a sincere government! They are better off than Nigerians. They have more foreigners per capita than Nigeria and have many Nigerians in their country! So you are wrong. That you live on less than one dollar a day does not mean you are poor. You are still better than someone living on 1500 dollar a monthe in New York. Yoruba have not gained from Nigeria. No group has! As you find non Yorubas in Lagos and other Yoruba lands, you find Yoruba all over too. Yoruba investment outside surpass non Yoruba investments here. Go to Accra, Lome, Abidjan, London, New York, Niamey and etc. You find Yoruba billionaires, millionaires and middle class. I can be mentioning them, those that are well known Harry Akande, Late Antonio Fernandez, that Ibadan man in oil business in the US, the man on the board of the company that bought Heathrow airport and many others are not even here. So on the net, we still invest outside. In Yoruba land are world class billionaire Lebanese, Europeans, Chinese and Indians, Igbos and Hausas but we have people outside too. Nupoid people for instance have Abuja and Kaduna, why not complain about them? Igboid have PH. 9 Likes 1 Share |

I refuse to see how monies generated from Lagos port amounts to SW contribution to Nigeria, it would have been so if SW was the only coastal region such ports could have been built. I think the SW through the port constructed there using the revenue generated from the rest of the country are actually parasitic to the rest of the country, as they had enjoyed undue monopolistic advantage as the gateway to the nation and the foreign investments that comes with such. SW hosting the port is not a contribution, it's a gain she is gaining from Nigeria's unity and stands to lose should the country disintegrate. Same applies to MMIA. Though I think this had been tackled before in a counter thread, so I feel to understand why the Yorubas are jumping up here, expecting Ndiigbo to waste precious time on an issue we had already tackled. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Igboid: Ordinarily, I should properly reply you but because I know you're an I-pork youth who loves back and forth bullshit even when the truth is staring at you so I don't need to stress If the ports aren't part of SW contribution, whose contribution is it? Nice right up but people will argue same point about Lagos having only viable ports and international airport. I always found it weird how everything shipped through Lagos when we have largest coastline. Hopefully we finish our port in Akwa Ibom and industrialize into other industries with in SS. Does anyone have ranking of regions by economic contribution to fed coffers. SS being 1, SW being 2 (1 in non oil). Where do rest of regions compare. I'm interested why north seem to never be in discussion. 1 Like 1 Share |

OmoAjowa7: You owe some one for more than six months, and suddenly pays one month, which happens to be the most recent month, how exactly that translates to being debt free is still what I'm scratching my bald hair to understand. http://nigeria.shafaqna.com/EN/NG/2687039 2 Likes |

Igboid: I think something is wrong with your head lol and I can't help you . Ogun never owed civil servants salaries. The problem was with deductions and that has been sorted out. I'm sure you saw September 10 there And I'm not even interested in that. You're wasting your time If you think you can take me off tangent The topic is about the contribution of the SW to Nigeria's economy. If you can refute it, go ahead. If you can't, F.O.H or better yet go create a thread letting us know what the SE contributes to Nigeria's economy 9 Likes |

Igboid: Listen here you this jealous omo nna, the Federal govt. has admitted to owing Ogun state over N200-billion naira for fixing roads projects (the highest in the entire country) it had abandoned (at least we know where much of its debt profile went toward). That is more than 3rice its debt profile. You are just jealous coz no matter how you slice or dice it, we and una no be mates. Ogun slays all of your states in every economic indices available and there are facts to back it up so... Eat your heart out pazienza. The Committee chaired by Hon. Toby Okechukwu (Enugu PDP) and Hon. Babangida Ibrahim (Katsina APC) heard that Ogun state is leading the list with N222.9 billion. http://www.thisdaylive.com/index.php/2016/03/23/fg-owes-states-n580-5bn-for-roads-rehabilitation/ 9 Likes 1 Share |

OGUN, KOGI LEADING IN ROYALTY PAYMENT "Ogun and Kogi states led the pack for housing companies that make the highest amount of royalty payment to the federal government, while Kebbi and Taraba states came in at the bottom of the table as shown below. Ten states made no such royalty payment in the year under review". Companies domiciled in Ogun, not owned by Ogun, generated the royalty being talked about here. And they were only domiciled in Ogun because of Oguns proximity to Lagos, the gateway of the country that has held monopolistic grip on the port entry into the country. This only reaffirms my point that Lagos port is not a SW contribution, rather it's a SW gain from one Nigeria. Being the gateway to the most populous black nation on earth. It won't be the same should Nigeria disintegrate. 1 Like |

DANGOTE’S SOLID MINERAL REVENUE HIGER THAN THE REST OF NIGERIA "Dangote Group, owned by Aliko Dangote, generates more mineral resource revenue for the government than the rest of the nation put together. In 2013, the group was responsible for 53 percent of the government revenue, that is, N15.9 billion of the total N33.86 billion accrued that year.". Revenue in question was generated by Dangote, who happened to have cited his industry in Ogun for obvious reasons, as Ogun is not the only site in Nigeria with limestone deposits. How exactly this translates to Ogun contribution to FG is still funny to me. 2 Likes |

The Ogun State chairman of the National Association of Nigerian Students, Dotun Opaleye, and Tai Solarin College of Education, TASCE, Students’ Union President, Dairo Ibrahim have led students of the institution to the Oke Ilewo Abeokuta secretariat of the Nigerian Union of Journalists to protest the non-payment of lecturers’ salaries. They accused the Amosu-led government of neglecting the institution as lecturers have not been paid for 14 months. Placards they bore had different inscriptions such as, ‘Amosun restore education at TASCE’, ‘Please we students are suffering in TASCE’ among others.
