forgiveness: This is not judged by I have seen. It up to Rohr to invite Isaac Success to camp, carry out some attacking and shooting drills. If he is prolific, then Rohr can play him up front. I can not forget his sweet finish at the U20 World Youth Championship. Such confidence. 1 Like |

forgiveness: He can play as a striker very well. In developing young attackers, a lot of time, they are played on the wings to develop their skillful play. Also, if the team is weak at creating chances, and they have enough attackers to strike, they can select one of the strikers, probably the most skillful and fastest to play on the wings. The drills in the Super Eagles camp will decide whether he is good enough for the striking role of not. 1 Like |

terzurum5: He played 2-3 matches for late Keshi and he did very well but Mr Moral deflator came in destroyed his confidence with his 4 minutes substitution. |

forgiveness: Take into context a striker's ability to take on defenders and score. Most of our strikers depend on the midfield to create clean chances for them. With the way Success turned Bailly inside out like if Success was removing his singlet gives us an idea of his ability with the ball. At the end, I expect the coach to make his choice after watching them in camp. 1 Like |

TheGoodJoe: I am not saying he should not be invited but I am saying there is no excuse in try and error for National team. U20 don pass tey tey. Watch him now and you will realise what I am talking about except his present coach drill him on that. |

forgiveness: We should not play Iwobi and Moses together cos they dnt like defending or are poor defenders? Oya list our wingers that like defending. From the formation I posted I did not drop Balogun from the CB position. I only put Omeruo/Ekong i.e. either of the two to partner with Balogun at CB. On a second thought why not Balogun play RB so Ekong and Omeruo play CB. I don't trust Musa Mohammed with that RB yet. The Luxembourg and Tanzania games are not true tests. And why do you want "Omerue" to be dropped for Otigba? |

Icon4s: Your Ighalo point also came to my mind. He looks improved and his strength is phenomenal. Bailly and Smalling could not get him off the ball when he backed each of them to retrieve the long ball. His drifting to the sides is also brilliant, which can create gap for Nacho to slot in. However, his miss when De Gea and Smalling clashed was terrible. If he did that against Westerhof, he would not play another game. Apart from that, Ighalo is now dominant in games, more skillful and mobile. He drops deep to defence more than waiting for services. I see the goals coming. He looks better under Mazzari and makes a claim to maintain the starting position. I won't complain if Rohr chooses Ighalo to lead the front line. |

TheGoodJoe: He has turned many la liga players inside out but the end product na fa fa fa fowl over the bar. Make the coach shine eye before em decide. 2018 World Cup na most oooo. Besides, Ighalo got skills to take on defenders. Watch last season and you will know. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 7:32pm On Sep 18, 2016 |
forgiveness: 2015 is not tey tey in my world. Also, he is under a top manager who worked with talents like Cavani, Lavezzi and Hamsik. His striking can improve working with such a man. I did not ask for a trial and error judgment. Attacking drills. Just as Siasia did with Awoniyi and Sadiq Umar. Then he chose Sadiq as the better striker. There are drills to check who is better. If Isaac Success is converting better than the rest, then he at least deserves to play as a Sub to that role. 1 Like |

TheGoodJoe: Success is a kind of forward that is not shy of taking on defenders, just like Imoh Ezekiel. This is typical of strikers that play from the wings. Success deserves a call up for the Zambia game . Even if Rohr had not made up his mind seeing what Success did today he'll be convinced. 1 Like |

Icon4s: Apart from that, Ighalo is now dominant in games, more skillful and mobile. He drops deep to defend more than waiting for services. I made a mistake in my post. This is the correction. |

Icon4s: Musa Ahmed and Simon Moses. OK na. I noticed the way Musa Mohammed played but I fear the way he drifted into the midfield without a backup. Well, Na inconsequential matches. Omerue always lose concentration. It's high time we test another defender. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Icon4s(m): 7:42pm On Sep 18, 2016 |
TheGoodJoe: Yeah. He played a lot from the wings today and his movement on the ball has been excellent. He may draw attention to the wings creating room for Iheanacho to cause havoc at the centre. Ighalo is a 4-4-2 kind of striker. 1 Like |

forgiveness: Musa Mohammed had back up with Onazi drifting to the right back role when he overlapped. Seems Rohr saw Onazi's game under Keshi, I think Congo where he played as a right back. When Musa Mohammed overlapped, Onazi covered during counters. It looks nice. Against skillful and fast Algerians, that is a different question. |

forgiveness: Just like how some peeps condemned Ekong before the Olympics. Omeruo is still one of our best CBs. Defenders make mistakes once in a while. Omeruo and Ekong can form a CB pairing. No harm in inviting Otigba to compete also. But to say outrightly that Otigba should replace Omeruo is a no-no for me. Leon Balogun started off as a RB for us. I don't know if Musa Mohammed can face the opposition at the qualifiers, considering also that he was recently released by his Turkish club. Leon Balogun can take up that RB role. No room boyish mistakes as every game would be like a cup final. |

Icon4s: What brought Iwobi to limelight? Is it not his performance? You perform, you get a chance, you don't perform and you get kicked out out. That should be the norms. No player get automatic Jersey for National team. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 7:55pm On Sep 18, 2016 |
Icon4s: I will like us to maintain our high defensive line and ball playing defenders. I do not see Rohr touching that. He is also impressed with Musa Mohammed. One of the players that impressed the coach a lot in the last game. I think Musa Mohammed earned that place by impressing the coach in that game. I think I will trust Musa Mohammed to play there if the coach believes he is capable. |

forgiveness: I don't know Rabiu and Ajagun to be wingers. For the number 10 role Iheanacho is available. Etebo also plays 10. Iwobi is naturally a winger and if he is injured just like the Tanzania game we have so many wingers na.. Musa, Etebo, Simon, Ezekiel, Moses .The coach can also draft a striker like Success to the wings. 2 Likes |

Icon4s: Leon Balogun had always been a CB and I can see he more comfortable there. Another fresh legs needs to be tried. No more automatic Jersey for any player. We should try Otigba and Brain Idowu. |

Icon4s: Iwobi na number 10 for Nigeria National team. Etebor no bi no 10 na no 8. Iheanacho is not no 10. He is no 9 and no 8. |

forgiveness: Leon Balogun under Keshi played as a RB. I would be more comfortable seeing him at RB than Musa Mohammed. Musa Mohammed mayb for the future. He might deputise for Balogun for now. And u are the one that wanted to give automatic jersey to Otigba from "Omerue". 1 Like |

Icon4s: I see Iwobi more like a creative midfielder than a Natural winger. In the game against Hull, he drifted a lot behind the attack and helped a lot. Looked comfortable there. When you look at the likes of Ozil and Carzola who play a lot of the wings of Arsenal, you see that Wenger plays creative Midfielders on the wings. Just like Pellegrini with Silva, Nasri and De Bruyne. Rohr might feel differently and opt to play Iwobi behind the attack. 1 Like |

forgiveness: Iheanacho plays the ten role well. For Man City, he is a striker. That is where the coaches want him to play. Iheanacho said it many times he can play well in different roles. Including the ten role and on the wings. Although, I prefer him striking because of his regular striking training at Manchester City. 1 Like |

forgiveness: Ah! U are mixing things up. I think u need to know the difference between a number a 10 & an 8. In a 4-5-1, 4-2-3,1, 4-1-4-1 or 4-4-1-1 the player behind the CF is the number 10. While in the 4-4-2 formation the second striker (supporting striker) is the number 8. Iheanacho and Etebo can function well as either 10 or 8 depending on how the team is set up. Iwobi has mostly been played as a winger for the national team.Although he can also play the number 10 role. 1 Like 1 Share |

TheGoodJoe: Iwobi is a special kind of winger that brings to the table more than wings play. He is not the stereotype kind of winger like Walcott, Chamberlain, Moses, Or Simon. Some times I even imagine what he can do in the CMF position. Iwobi would have been AM but because there is an Ozil in the team he was converted to a winger. He plays so effortlessly and has brought a whole new dimension to wings play. He looks more like a Kanu that an Okocha to me. 1 Like |
