OP, kindly pardon my lack of polished English language
and address the obscurities below.
what's actually your definition of "all sphere"?
Cos I just can't put that behind me, cos it leaves a pervasive flaw in ur post.
By " all sphere ” would you be including;
education,
sport,
politics,
health,
population,
military strength,
business climate,
entertainment,
Info.Tech and certain spheres that might have eluded me now?

Can you be more unequivocal about ur post?
For a minute, I took you for a Kenyan before I noticed ur name.

If those aforementioned areas are among ur " all spheres" then ur level of information is either grossly inadequate or deliberately inadequate.

And one more thing, I've you been to Kenya b4 to speak audaciously?
Cos I have .

The OP's rationale was shallow, narrow, pointless and grossly ignorant, it's something you expect from a little kid and not a sane, sensible and rational adult..

This is just brazen ignorance and lack of any knowledge and understanding about your own country.

Lagos's GDP alone which is an ordinary state in Nigeria IS $131 Billion while Kenya's entire GDP is meager $63

And Lagos's GDP is almost free of oil money and can function easily without oil money

Lagos economy is the 7th largest in Africa, larger than 40 African countries economy so what's the meaning of the weak, inaccurate and baseless rubbish.

Lagos alone can buy and sell the whole of kENYA

Kenya, a country that lags behind an ordinary state is better than Nigeria economically?

Please confine such jokes to yourself..

Cuba has better life expectancy than the United States, but does it mean Cuba is better than the US? Are Cubans still not dying trying to cross the ocean to seek a better life in the US?

This is the lamest and thoughtless rubbish on NL in a long long time..

Of what relevance is this? The fact that they have a National airline and tourism means they are better?

We have 2 deep seaports under construction

We have $15 billion largest single refinery in the world under construction, largest petrochemical plant in Africa under construction, largest fertilizer plant, largest gas plant with 1000km under sub gas pipeline, we have thousands of KM rails system under construction or about to start.

Our $12 billion coastal rail system is the largest public works in Africa

Yes we have economic challenges, but Kenya is not anywhere close to even our shoes, not in a million years.

Should we start listing what we have that they don't have and can never have in a million years?

Lame argument indeed. There are better countries all over the world without National airline and tourism like Kenya, but does it mean kenya is better than them?

So what they have mobile money? What's this got to do with Nigeria?

Nigeria remains the largest E-commerce economy in Africa, something Kenya can not smell in many many decades to come.

Nigeria is far ahead of kenya in ICT so where is your Nigeria struggling from?

The most powerful ICT innovations in Africa emanated from Nigerians and created by Nigerians.

What are the ground breaking ICT innovations in Kenya?

We have eTranzact which is multi-channel electronic transaction switching and payment processing platform that already evolved into a multinational brand, rolling out products in 6 other countries including South Africa, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Cote d’Ivoire and United Kingdom

Frivolities is you and your half baked take on your own country, a half baked thought that says Kenya is better than your own country when facts on the ground claims otherwise.

The problem with Africa i how we potray our nation to the outside world or neighbours. The facts you are trying to give about Kenya some are just wrong or outright ridiculous. because as a Kenyan if someone mentions Nigeria to me,picturing what you guys post around i am of the impression that your megacity Lagos is filthy though i hear Abuja is a fine one.As of Kenya the only part you will get wild animals roaming free is the northern part because the people from there are nomadic pastrolists like i used to read about your fulanis. the rest is agricultural and builtup area.In the east we are the like you are in the west as of ethiopia they are a crowded neighbours who will do anything to cross over to Kenya where its their launching pad to a better future.Geopolitically as one wrote ealier Kenya displaces Ethiopia what Ethiopia has is that they house AU hq nothing more.Electricity connectivity stands at 70% in Kenya as of this yr expected to be about 80% when the govt completes its last mile connectivity prjt nxt

Kenya electricity connectivity is70% as of this yr and it is not dependent on tourism as you claim infact tourism was almost crippled by al shabaab.Kenya exports Tea the biggest in Africa Coffee Horticultural products second to ethiopia dairy products and its service industry employs the bigger population. It is the gateway to east and central Africa and second biggest concentration of formal markets-shopping malls-and recently overtook SA in number of investments in Africa though its capitalization is far low.And wild animals dont roam freely as you put it i think you should come over here and your perception will be changed the moment you touch down at JKIA

I don't blame the Kenyans and the Ghanaians for constantly taking potshots at this shitty country called Nigeria. At best they are a country with one or two major tribes that are related in one way or the other and separated by few languages. But this hellhole shouldn't be referred to as a country at all. We are too diverse to be one. That is why when one section gets the presidency, the other sections try to undermine it. In so doing, the economy of the country is hurt.
So Biko I don't blame them. Nigeria as large as it is is useless to mankind

Kindly relocate and renounce the country

A massively disappointing piece! Anyway, the United Kingdom is not close to the Netherlands, Sweden and Norway when it comes to their standards of living. .But this notwithstanding, inside those three countries, people have a lot of respect for London. Reason? Just one reason, and it`s one reason alone: the role that United Kingdom played in Europe to end the Second World War. Brits rubbish the rest of Europe a lot, but it hasn`t stopped the rest of Europe from respecting London. Therefore, it`s very naive to see human development index as the most important basis for measuring a nation`s importance.

Moreover, these arrogant and hating Nigerians, how many Africans have they lynched inside their country, and what price have African countries paid in order to solve our numerous problems inside Nigeria? Honestly, time for me to log off!

So what exactly has Nigeria done for Africa to give it the status the UK enjoys in Europe

All the things you mention are NOT special to Nigeria and it's only somebody living in ignorance who would used that to claim Nigeria deserves a status in Africa bigger than the rest.

See, many countries stood up against apartheid - what Nigeria did for SA is nowhere close to a quarter of what Tanzania did. Currently Kenya is home to over 2 million Somalis and Sudanese who've run away from war. At some point for over five years the government of Somalia was located in Nairobi. We give some aid to our neighboring countries when in need....................so do you still believe Nigeria deserves a special status in Africa for doing things many other Africans do ever on a larger scale?

You guys need to travel and read about other African countries - the ignorance you display here is sad.

Good long read with some facts here and there and misconceptions here and there too. But don't dismiss 'little' Kenya just yet

Per capita income is a terrible indicator of a country's development level largely because you a just dividing output by population and ignoring it's distribution. It's even more skewed for mineral dependent nations. HDI is the best indicator of a country's development level since it captures aspects like health, education, accès to electricity, nearness to paved roads etc. And in these, Kenya's HDI is 0.553 (middle human development) while Naija is at 0.517 (low human development) according to UNDP. No contest

End of last year, all Nigerian ports combined handled a total of 1.05m containers. That's less than the kenyan Mombasa port's 1.07m TEUs and that port just opened a 2nd container terminal with a .5m capacity this June...

I don't need to talk about electricity really we all know that

Paga for is far from the largest mobile money Co in Africa. Kenya's mpesa handled $56bn Mobile phone transactions last financial year

Nigeria has been exporting crude oil and importing refined petroleum, it's good a mega refinery is being built. But Kenya, without a single drop of oil since 1970 has been in fact exporting refined petroleum products to all its neighbors after importing crude oil and refining it in the country.

Nigeria's $12bn coast rail isn't Africa's largest public works, kenya alone already has 2 projects u/c exceeding it in magnitude and cost. The $13bn SGR whose phase 1 is 90% complete and phase 2is 5% through linking Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda and Burundi. Then the $24bn LAPPSET whose roads are 60% complete, all 3 international airports are 100% complete and construction of Lamu's 1st 3 berths is ongoing will link Kenya, Ethiopia and South Sudan.

Formal retail penetration in Kenya is 2nd only to SA in the entire continent. And these are Kenyan companies that outcompeted shoprite and Co not just in Kenya but in the entire East Africa region.

Kenya's 2016 budget ($23bn) is about the same size as that of Nigeria (N6.08trn/$18bn) despite the latter having 2 times the area and 4.5 times the population, a snapshot of prioritizing by the governments.

All in all, Nigeria is a big economy but not necessarily the more developed economy. Petroleum aids it's size directly (15% of gdp) and indirectly (70% of government revenue) and a shock in this sector causes the trouble we are seeing now.

Is that the only part you read? You must be the most ignorant person to walk on earth. What is $61 million in 3.5 decades seriously? That is 4 times less than what Bill Gates - a single man - gives to charity in a year lol. If $61 in 35 years makes you the king of Africa then you guys should be literally licking the butthole of the US since the US gives you ove $700 yearly - that translates to $24.5 billion in 35 years lol.

Tanzania trained the SA soldiers, hosted conferences aimed at ending apartheid. If you stopped being an ignorant fool and took time to read objectively without a Nigeria-centric mind you'd realize Nigeria is even rarely mentioned among countries that really helped end apartheid.

You are embarrassing yourself seriously. If those peanuts are supposed to make every other African bow down when a Nigerian makes an appearance then I'm sorry but you're plain dumb (and to think you quote figures from over 40 years ago. lol). Let me give you a hint on how stupid you sound - Kenya contributes $450 million to the UN alone yearly (the biggest African contributer so far). Yes, $10 billion is peanuts when spent by a country - we are talking about a country that claims to be the alpha and omega here.........and no, we are not talking about apartheid, we are discussing your assertions that Nigeria is to Africa what the UK is to Europe. Now it seems the only justification you have is a mere $10 million. Dude, you need help. $10 million won't even make you - an individual - a great person whose name should be remembered throughout history - the fact that you expect it to make a country of over 170 million people great is appalling.

I told you Kenya contributes $450 million to the UN yearly - if you're demanding to be worshipped for some $10 million you gave 40 years ago then what should we say with $450 million? .............and to think stating Nigeria contributes 2000 soldiers to the UN against Kenya's 1024 is supposed to be a compliment to you confirms I'm arguing with a retard. Nigeria has 4 times Kenya's population - to bring it to Kenya's level in terms of contribution to the UN, they must contribute 4096 soldiers and $1.8 billion. A mere 2000 soldiers means you're far behind Kenya and have no rights to demand we tremble and call you the giant of Africa.

Stop embarrassing Nigeria.

You've spoken well. Its just that Tonyebarcanista made it seems Kenyanis better off as a whole compared with Nigeria.
That is a bad insinuations. Kenya, we all know, is a "coming up economy" but how can he insinuate they're better off to Nigeria?

and we are not demanding to be worshipped,we've earned our place and i dont know why it angers u.and europe does not even need uk.hope u are not too blind to see that.

..........and I'm telling you you've earned nothing. It is not angering me, I am simply asking you to stop being delusional and living in utopia. If you've never been outside Nigeria then you need to travel. Perhaps that would make you realize Nigeria hasn't earned any place and is not the greatest country on the continent so far.

PS..............Nigeria never contributed $10 billion to SA to stop apartheid, lol. $10 billion is 50% of your national budget in 2016. You are so delusional.

You need a brain transplant.

Like seriously?
You actually want mine, right? wink
Its no fault of yours. Its the treasonable folk who is using his left hand to point to his father's house.
If your educated you to M.Sc levels and he decides not to pay your bill for your Ph.D, that in no ways makes him a bad father.
You can simply be hating on him and comparing him to a man who struggled to school his child through secondary school. They ain't mates.
Never ever compare Kenya to Nigeria. Just focus all your energy on your marathon races and wild life.

Sorry sir.
Nigeria has a budget of 6.06 Trillion naira and I don't know when we began to use dollars for budgeting. We budget on naira.
Its the mentality of this $ is that's affecting us all.
