Bank's SWIFT code is the Alphanumeric code equivalent of ABA Routing number (USA) and Sort Code (UK), which is Society for Worldwide International Fund Transfer. You may need to call your bank to ask or visit as some customer service Reps may not know it. GTBINGLA, UBNINGLA, etc for GTBank, Union and so on.

No Sir. Check your bank statement or alert. But a bank like Union will not give useful transaction description information unlike GTBank that will state both USD and Naira amounts.

Good day to u. I am trying to learn abt this skrills mara since Paypal isnt coperating. One thing I am not getting thus far is, what are people talking about when they say buy or selling skrills fund? is it operating in some kind of currency in itself? Can anyone anywhere pay u just through ur skrills account and is it yet as versertile as paypal. Wish paypal will just wake up tomorrow and do Nigerians good. Thanks in advance.

let's say you have $500 in your skrill, I can buy the dollar from you (you transfer to my skrill account) and I pay you the naira equivalent at an agreed exchange rate. Currently, people sell at 370 or higher.

One important question I need to clarify is, who transfers first? If I have Skrill (or PayPal) funds, and transfer to you, what if you don't fulfil your part by instantly crediting me with the Naira equivalent? What checks are in place to eliminate any possibility of either party trying to play smart?

Your questions are good ones. That's where trust and risk comes in..and in some cases, good check on who you are transacting with. If you're transactiNG with someone like arbitrage or any other veteran Nairalander who has had great feedback, past successful transactions and active profile on NL, you can be at ease and risk sending funds first but for someone no one knows or can vouch for, do a physical transaction or hold on to your money....it all boils down to your personal perception of the individual. Cheers!

Choose USD not Naira as you will be transacting majorly in dollars.

Okay thanks. I think I'll choose ZAR instead of USD since I'm in SA I'm not looking forward to use USD. 1 USD is 13.6 ZAR also 1 ZAR is 21 NGN.

Now I'm confused again. Since I'm sending the money to myself in a different (foreign) account. How I'm I supposed to withdraw it? Can I open another skrill account for the foreign account I want to withdraw from.

Answer these questions
1. Where are you?
2. Where's the money coming in from?
3. After exchanging, what currency would you want the money to be in?

@Neduzze5 and others with experiences and great understanding of how it works.
please, what of someone like me..
1) I'm in Nigeria.
2) transferring from either my first bank or Union bank naira acct into the skrill account.
3) Dollar or preferably Euro. (is their a limit to the amount of naira that can be transferred and converted into the skrill account for a day or particular period of time, and what are the charges).
then would I be able to use euros instead of dollars. and when I have whichever of this foreign currencies that works better inside my skrill account, can I transfer it to someone else skrill account in Europe or U.S. and then the person withdraws it or transfer to his/her personal bank account. thanks

1. Nigerian Skrill account is allowed.
2. You can transfer from most of Nigerian bank cards depending on the limits on your Skrill account, which is higher if it's a verified account.
3. Yes there are 2 limits. One is the amount allowed for a Skrill account funding by card (verified account is higher). The second and most important limit now is the one imposed by your Nigerian bank, which you cannot withdraw beyond it daily. You can see the charges when you visit the fees sections of Skrill website. You can transfer Skrill from any account in any currency to another in any currency. Instead of the person you transfer to withdrawing to his/her bank account, you can also withdraw it to your linked bank account to. I do both ZAR to/fro USD.

I transfered some funds to my Skrill from Upwork recently, then last week, I tried selling to an exchanger, but it wasn't successful. I mailed Skrill and they said I should send an identity card. I thought ID card is only needed when you wanna upgrade the Funds Limit on accounts
I sent my Voter's card, but they keep rejecting.

I am not in the exchange business but also not sure if I would be doing people justice if I answer this question of yours. It could spoil things.

You can withdraw into your Naira account. In fact, that is what your bank wants so that they can give you Naira at their poor exchange rate.
Thanks for this post. So that's why the exchangers are here to buy at a good rate. Now, how do they (exchangers/buyers) make their profit?
