You may go ask any Cameroonian and they will tell you Roger Milla. Because he brought more glory to them than Eto in terms of national team.

Why do you think they called an 39 years old man from retirement to represent them in the world cup?

They can respect Milla. He deserves every respect he gets but we can not deny Eto'o's accomplishments as one of the prides of African football.

Very sad news Victor Moses and Isaac Success have been ruled out with injury. Obaje and Chisom from Wikki and Rangers have been called as replacements.

Very sad. I hope this is a big chance for Godwin Obaje. I hope the crew still have their eyes on Blessing Eleke.

Fact is we have to give our greats credit for the work they did in Africa. At the time the doors were not truely open for our greats in Europe. Also our leagues were tougher at that time and any stat should be seen as legit.

This should serve as a lesson for future engagements. Rohr should always give a suplimentary list while naming his team.

I hope Chisom is up for this. He was totally frightened and devastated by the nasty injury to Ifeanyi Egwim last night. When players witness such kind of leg breaks it affects their confidence level.
Arsenal players surrendered the league as they couldn't handle the psychological trauma of the Ramsey/Eduardo's nasty leg breaks. I hope Chisom is in the right from of mind, if he's not, he will do well to excuse himself.

You've said it all...

But the numbers of our players out cos of injuries is worrisome. Moses and Success...(hope these european clubs are not playing on our intelligence)

with the two wingers out. We only hope musa(hmmm... He hasn't play for a while now) can up his game.

I think we should Start with a 4-3-3 formation with Musa, Nacho and Ideye leading the attack.

Musa will definitely start, Ideye is experienced enough to lead the line. I expect

Iwobi...... Ideye...... Musa
.......... Iheanacho
...... Mikel
................... Onazi
Elderson.... Troost.... Omeruo.... Shehu
....... Carl

This game have a draw written all over it

Simon should replace iwobi at that position, Nacho replaces Ideye at the position, Ideye should sit on bench. Iwobi will be at where u placed Nacho.

Simon. Iwobi. Musa

Nacho must play upfront

forgiveness:

Eto has won APOTY more than Roger Milla but Roger Milla is regarded as a Legend in Cameroun ahead of Eto. Sorry.

Although, Kanu Nwankwo is a Legend in Arsenal but he is below Rashidi Yekini in the Legendary status in Nigeria.

I feel that was just a normal human reaction but he showed he is a pro by making the penalty with ease. He should grab this chance with both hands, who knows when next a call will come. I am sure the coach will discuss the issue with him.

The competition is indeed high. I would still love Ejaria to play for us but if the kid's made his choice, then there's nothing we can do.

There will always be quality talents who will stick with us no matter what.

Nigeria can't run dry of top quality soccer talents.

TheGoodJoe:

If Ovie Ejaria pledges his international future to England, I wish him the best. At least he showed commitment to play for us.

I hope he has a great career. That does not mean we are lost. We still have good talents in that role and we can push them ourselves.

Players like Ifeanyi Matthew, Obinna Nwobodo, Chidebere Nwakali, Kelechi Nwakali. These are all good players and can help build a great Super Eagles.

Even though I wanted Ovie to play for us, I did not think he would walk into our team or have an easy ride. The competition is high.

Funny comment. I thought you were one who stood for facts from all perspectives.... smiley

But nope.... You go blind to certain facts and open your eyes to the ones that support your points.

So what facts do you speak of coz I know you too well... You talk from both sides of your mouth.

If Yekini had Kanu's allround achievements, That is the angle you would be arguing from. Haba!!! Egbon... U sef!!!

Look, "Yeking" (I call him that smiley ) is no doubt One of the very top legends we have in Nigerian football but there's no way he's no.1... He's not even top 3. #fact. He's most definitely Top 5. So save it.... wink

Iwobi was not really a highly rated prospect and that contributed to us getting him. The Okocha factor got him to the under 23s and super eagles. Before England knew it, the guy was a first team player at Arsenal. Even then, they still tried to get him at the last minute.

That match left me sad, I saw the horrific tackle that led to Egwim's broken leg. The poor boy who score the hattrick could barely put himself together. We need to clean up our game it is just too rough.

Sir no contradictions to the fact that our game needs to be cleaned up, but please the goalkeeper didn't touch Egwim. The leg had broken before the keeper's leg came and still didn't touch his fractured leg. I had same feeling while watching from the stands but after seeing the clip I felt sorry for the poor keeper.

Too much talk is not needed. Facts and records are all over the place. Access them yourself and stop being lazy spilling sentimental comments all over the thread...

Yekini is not Top 3 Nigerian legends of all time based on all parameters concerned. #fact. smiley

Hmmm. Yekini can be ranked top 3 depending on the matrix, you are looking it.

He is still our most prolific scorer.

That is based on looking at Yekini's records in Africa and counting out Kanu's influential works in Europe.

When you look at accomplishments, Yekini is not in the top three.

Even Thompson Usiyen was prolific. So he would make top 5 then abi??

Yekini's goals won for us our first nations cup after 14 years and qualified us for our first ever world cup. He is also the first ever Nigerian to score in a world cup. The man is a legend.

Noooo.... Even Thompson Usiyen was super prolific in the short period he featured for The Then, Green Eagles. So what about that? He has good records in the colors of Nigeria and in the league.

Matrix using "most prolific" is just one of the many parameters to be considered on an all-round scale.

Na wa ooo... Records are there and some people just wanna argue like argument is a profession. Looollllll...

He's one of my soccer idols. He's super legendary.

I am only saying Yekini is NOT in the Top 3 of Nigerian football's Greatest and finest of all time based on all parameters put together.

I think Victor Moses's excuses are becoming unbearable. I don't wanna believe what my mind is telling me, sort of feigning these minor knocks only to play again for his club the next week. Am beginning to doubt his commitment. Maybe am being too quick to judge and conclude... Just can't keep it no more!!!!!
