Although I have no authority over below information, I guess it's worth sharing.

Leaving after study is a reflection of whole package but having a job in Nigeria with monthly salary reflecting in your account or married help.

2. Purpose of visit: masters or PhD better than PGD if you GP can do it. Am also tempted to PhD in university may help too.

3. Personal asset and financial status : you need assest in your name e.g. car, land, shares, etc. In your name not family name.

Caution: I have no visa application experience.
. Thanks for your contributions. I submitted my land property which reflects my name,I work with state government which shows my leave approval for the period of my studies and that I should resume back to work after completions of studies,I attached letter of appointment, confirmation of appointment, promotion letters, payslips, pension cert and so on. To crown it all my hubby and my children will be here in nija while I am away and I submitted d evidences. I don't just understand, the news of refusal still dey shock me.

Employer's introduction letter is important and it will serve. The introduction letter should state when u resumed work, job position, salary, job description and if possible (any expectation from your intended programme). Study leave letter is not compulsory.

Since you have paid ur tuition. 7 million naira is okay for SOA balance. Avoid lodging of fund. Let your sponsor declare the amount he will be sponsoring you with in the sponsorship affidavit.
wealth360:

Yes @Mikymiko. He said turnover at the end of the month. so what do u think now i do? can i ask him also if he can tender a fixed account for my application? and with one year expenses on my offer letter which is $cad 19645 maximum + my tuition $cad 5850... can i still tender SOA of 7million balance if at all i can talk to him to increase the money. and again the man is a bizness man.

thanks

Hi, I'm new to this forum.
After my BSc. I got an MBA in International Oil and Gas Management from the UK (University of Dundee, Scotland). I had 2yrs work experience before doing the course, but that was in the Land Administration field.
I now want to pursue another masters in Canada and gain actual industry specific work experience too. I think it will be beneficial for me to study something more specialised which will give me skills for a specific role.
I'm currently considering:
Finance,
Logistics and Supply Chain
Information Systems/ Data Analytics
Could anyone suggest which schools or provinces are best for these courses considering my interest in the oil & Gas sector? I'm applying for fall 2017.
Thanks
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 11 by thesoj: 5:40pm On Oct 05, 2016
My comment will be on your prospective course(s) of choice. I'd suggest you strongly consider the "Data Analytics" program because the future of computing is artificial intelligence, and data analytics is the starting point for that. Oil & Gas, unfortunately, will likely have an unstable future moving forward -- I surmise that Oil & Gas will not be as strongly in-demand within the next decade or two once electric or hybrid cars become ubiquitous. I stand to be corrected though.

Presuming you have a science/math/engineering or analytical BSc background, I'd suggest you not strongly consider Finance or Logistics/Supply-Chain because firstly, you already have an MBA, and secondly, these two subjects are relatively easy to pick up on your own (given your presumably analytical BSc background). Additionally, it may be much harder for you to make the case to the VO about a masters in Finance or Logistics/Supply-Chain given that these two areas are usually covered in an MBA program.

If your passion is in Oil & Gas however, Google will have to be your friend. I just entered one search phrase and the results popped up immediately.

Thanks jj17cv,you gave the best explanation. Having a B1/B2 visa you are allowed into the U.S. for a maximum period of 6months this does not mean you can apply for visa to another country. This is because as a visitor, you can't work which might affect the person's assessment but as a student, you can apply to any country and your chances are higher. To confirm you can send a mail on general enquiries to la-info@csc-cvac.com. Many thanks
You forgot to state that this is your opinion and not a fact. First the opinion is wrong. Second, a visitor in US can apply for Canadian study permit from the US. (This is a fact). Most importantly, your chances of getting a Canadian study permit from the US as a visitor is far better than your chances of getting same from Accra (this is our opinion).

you closed my thread and referred me here without answering my question. and everybody here is also ignoring it. pls ansa me.
I don't think you should write with an attitude that implies that you are entitled to an answer. Everybody here wants answers too, and all of the people providing answers are unpaid volunteers so you shouldn't imply that people are "ignoring" you.

supergata:
i just finished filling an application to a university in canada for pre medicine. They said they will request for transcript later. please what does notarized high school transcript mean in nigerian language abeg?
A notarized document is a photocopy that is stamped, signed, and certified to be a true copy by a notary public. Usually you can get this done at a high court or in certain lawyers' offices; you will need to take both the original and the photocopy with you. If you are in Lagos, you can get this done at the Ikeja High Court in Igbosere.

supergata:
i also indicated that i have done one year of post secondary education.(Joint university preliminary Examination board (pre degree).) Have i made a mistake?please i need answers please.
It's not a mistake. It might even help your admission. Just provide them proof (original or notarized copy).

Someone in Canada should please help me with my gcms note, I was refused last week based on "purpose of visit" and "current employment situation" after showing them a reference letter from my uncle's company, stating that I've been working with them since 2012, no payslip or employment letter was added though.
I really need this gcms note so that I can refire soon, my admission has been deferred to January 2017

Re: Travelling To Canada Part 11 by thesoj: 6:41pm On Oct 05, 2016
Bro, you state your opinions with so much authority sha. So the thing is I am extremely skeptical that it is a good idea to apply for a Canadian study permit from the US (as a B1/B2 visa holder). While yes, you can apply for it from the US, I know for a fact that many (most?) foreign embassies in the US state categorically on their websites that they don't accept visa applications from temporary US visitors (on visiting visas); I know this for an absolute fact because I have applied for visas to different foreign countries from the US, and in almost all cases the embassies recommend against applying for their visas if you are a temporary US visitor (B1/B2 specifically).

In any case, I don't know how the CIC office in Los Angeles works so they may indeed treat such an application fairly but I am very skeptical. My hunch (not a fact) would be that CIC might treat such applications fairly if you are from an OECD country, but not for applicants from a place like Nigeria with a bad economy and a high reputation for fraud and terrorism.

I stand to be corrected though, in which case I'd like to hear why you are very sure that they would treat a Nigerian US visitor application fairly. Please share with us. It would be very beneficial.
