This is good road compared to Aba- Ikot Ekpene Expressway
Another no go route.

The FG is reluctant in spending money on fixing roads in the southeast.

Because there's a culture among the Igbos that celebrate evil and degrade excellence, the Igbos will ever remain remain grateful and loyal to their adopted son Azikwue Ebele Badluck Jonathan for leaving them with this type of dividend of democracy as a reward for their support for him for over five years of his rules.

Since the Igbos will never see anything good in good, may they always be rewarded with this type leaderships that will always give them this type of dividends.

To think that Ekweremadu, Nwanbueze and all the Anti-Buhari proponents of today were all part of the Jonathan government for the five years confirmed that the Igbos nation will suffer neglect and deprivation for a long time.

Let their youth keep blaming Buhari, insulting the afonjas and hating Nigerians as much as they could, the fact remains that the Igbos problems lives among them.
Their leaders who takes advantage of their ignorance to plant hate in them against others to distract their attention while they romance with the same government to take care of their own family.

The state of the road is getting worse by the day.

The federal government of this country from 1999 till date has never fair to the people of the SouthEast. I mean, that road for crying out loud is less than 300Km and yet for over 17years now, it's still not fixed. I bliv it's not even in the budget for this year or next.

Truth be told, if the federal government has nothing to offer to the East, they should let them go and run their own government as a country. The governors of both state has other responsibilities to carry out, the more reason why i wouldn't say they are to be blamed. The road itself receives more passengers who ply the route than the Lagos-Ibadan route(from sagamu interchange to Ibadan) and no federal government has deemed it fit to fix it.

Let the injustice continue in this land of Nigeria. Little wonder Nigeria still keeps falling in growth in a modern 21st century as this.

God help us.

i remember those good old days (i mean 2000-2010) when i used to pass that road like i going to my gate from my room. i could pass it any time of the day because it was not this bad. it had its bad spots but it was relatively fair. but why?
My God please send Federal helpers to overhaul this route and not just patch patch work.
God bless Nigeria and Nigerians, amen

OBJ fixed the only federal road worthy of mention, that is the Onitsha-Owerri express which is the only motorable federal road in the SE. Before elections last year, saTANoids were busy lieing to the whole world that this road had been fixed by GEJ when those of us who ply the road said it was a lie and propaganda for election. Now the world can see dem wailers blaming PMB for it, question is which FG road did GEJ fix in the SE

Yet the FG turns a blind eye.

Nigerian politicians are just United, they love themselves, they love their schemes, they love their parties, they love their stealing games above all, they plan for their immediate family surprisingly 200 years ahead. They are much like the proverbial Emperor Nero who chose to dine while Rome was on fire.
The ironically thing here is we, the citizens, the over 90 percent Nigerians been marginalized, trampled upon, exploited and ripped off from our collective resources and destinies falling on each others back, wasting time, attacking each other and fighting a losing game instead of fighting these suckers and holding them responsible for their actions.
It's true every statistics is to our disadvantage. When nations are busy building sustainable educational institutions rooted on innovative research and inventions we are busy building empty schools and issuing mere certificates, when health care is hitting milestones and advancement we are busy retooling other countries with essentially forex worth about 3billion dollars annually through medical tourism. When countries are investing in tourism we are busy burning down forest and killing wildlife.
Let's say no to this divide and rule system brought by English colonialism. Let's not allow ourselves to be use as pawns in the hands of these few politicians in any disguise whatsoever be it a tribal, religious, ethnic or ideological #Nigeriansariseandshine

Good one! That was how Lagos was able to develop rapidly! It had always been continuous

Governance should consolidate on the goods of the previous administration and before you know it, development will be rapid for the incumbent admin.

Personally, i was initially afraid that President Buhari will reverse all the contracts he met in place like Yaradua did when he succeeded Obj but he proved me wrong!.

Just wondering how the FG can repair that road without causing massive gridlock and making the life of the people plying that road extra hard.
Re: Photos Of The Present State Of Enugu-Onitsha Expressway by montanaguy(m): 9:57am On Oct 06, 2016
My brothers, the road is getting worst and worst every day. We in the east that frequently make use of the road are worst hit. Ordinarily, a journey from Awka to Enugu that would take 1hr or so now take up to 3hrs because of bad road. The only alternative road, that's the old road is now in a serious bad shape because all the motorists have diverted to making use of the road to avoid the bad state of the federal road. Lorries, trailers etc have damaged the old road that it has now become impassable. The worst is the constant falling of lorries, containers and trailers on that federal road. Goods worth millions of naira have being destroyed on that road. The other day I was traveling to Enugu, it was a lorry with full loads of tiles and marbles that fell down. All the tiles and marbles got destroyed. When you pass that road, you will begin to wonder if we ever have a government in this country. You will see the govt inhumane treatments to the poor masses. Until when containers start falling on the buses and cars, govt will remember to do something.

Here we go again.

That road has deteriorated drastically in the past 15 months.

As it stands now the Enugu Onitsha and Aba Ikotekpene roads are the ones that need the most urgent attention in the country because of their state and the traffic they carry.

Just like the Benin Ore road which needed very urgent attention and received it.

If the FG is to construct any federal road in the country at this point it should be those.

If you are alright with being stuck in the past forever instead of tackling the present situation and looking unto the future then good luck.

Bros! That is a federal road.. The state govt can only help and get back their money from FG.

Its also tough helping the FG to do some certain things sha because getting back your money can be war. Lagos had running battles with the FG during Tinubu n Fashola era because of issues like helping out in fixing roads.

I will always blame OBJ for the poor state of Federal roads in Southeast.

Throughout his 8yrs in power, there was no federal roads that was completed. GEJ tried his best but he also have part of the blame.

Who is GEJ? Please go and make enquries. Who dualised Onitsha Owerri road? Was it not OBJ, And that was the first time Berger was give a road contract in the south east

infact.... All the past government never cared about the Igbo's and that is why there is continuous agitation from my people.
You are not right about OBJ not fixing a single federal road in the SE; the Onitsha-Owerri road as an example was 98% complete by the time OBJ left. On the contrary, GEJ was far more worse in terms of road construction in the SE especially when one even considers the much higher revenue he had at his disposal. At the end of the day, I think both of them need to be flogged; special flogging needs to also be reserved for all the high ranking Igbo politicians who have occupied the senate presidency and other NASS positions and even the ministers (past and present) who have gone to Abuja to fill their pockets and remember their people only when it is time for elections or when they've been arrested by EFCC.
