My brothers, the road is getting worst and worst every day. We in the east that frequently make use of the road are worst hit. Ordinarily, a journey from Awka to Enugu that would take 1hr or so now take up to 3hrs because of bad road. The only alternative road, that's the old road is now in a serious bad shape because all the motorists have diverted to making use of the road to avoid the bad state of the federal road. Lorries, trailers etc have damaged the old road that it has now become impassable. The worst is the constant falling of lorries, containers and trailers on that federal road. Goods worth millions of naira have being destroyed on that road. The other day I was traveling to Enugu, it was a lorry with full loads of tiles and marbles that fell down. All the tiles and marbles got destroyed. When you pass that road, you will begin to wonder if we ever have a government in this country. You will see the govt inhumane treatments to the poor masses. I will really like to know how a contract awarded to CCC ended up under the control of regional politicians. CCC was not paid when due after the initial mobilization fund. This extended to subcontractors (eg. Cossel Construction Ltd). Therefore, they abandoned the project.

The fact is that there was no political will at the center to fix the road. Worse still, their represntatives at Abuja care more about their selfish ends than the goodness of the electorates. No pressure. No oversight. What do you expect?

8 years (including stint under Yar'Adua) the only thing ndi Igbo could boast of under their adopted political son is an International airport in Enugu. I guess Enugu covers Abia, Ebonyi, Imo and Anambra. But then, much shouldn't be expected from a man who couldn't provide access roads and clean water to his village.

Imo state has the worst roads in the SE..below is Awara in Owerri..

Owerri section of Ph road is the worst in the entire federation despite the fact that Imo state is an APC state..

If the road had led to Imo state Capital where Okorocha has his businesses and home, Okorocha government would have repaired that bad portion of Ihialla-Orlu roa and ask federal government for reimbursement.
Or Okorocha may not even know that the road exists, or that the area is part of Imo state.

Maybe Okorocha doesn't expect people to come from that area to his private University in Ideato.
