tonio2wo:Remove the blindfold from your face so you can see the realities on ground. Almanjiri school is the only thing you could point to...right? What of other viable fed govt projects carried out in other parts of the country which their people monitored closely to ensure execution and performance? Almanjiri school was in gej's budget and the northerners didn't allow it to be killed as did SE projects by your political leaders. Can you honestly answer why the same onitsha-enugu highway project disappeared from the budget after GEJ included it in his administration? Have you also forgotten that he used it as his political campaign strategy in 2011, that he will do the road if you could vote him, among others which was why he included it in the budget? This guy sef... SE has been marginalised for years but by who? Your leaders, of course! Did you know the contractor who got the UNTH Construction contract in Enugu years back? Is that health institution worth anything, when compared to the facilities obtainable in LUTH, ABUTH, etc? You need to find out. Your leaders are your enemies, period! 4 Likes |

mosisnho:/ Does it matter? No matter how long you show it, Igbo people still believe that politics is all about emotions and not interests. In multi-ethnic nation like Nigeria, how can a group give "unconditional" support to a candidate? The 2nd River Niger bridge scam went on for years from OBJ to GEJ. And each time, Igbo folks showed up to the launching and danced their hearts out. It is pointless discussing the position of ndi Igbo in Nigeria politics. They don't get it and will never get it. The most ridiculous thing is this stupid belief that a dislike of GEJ is an automatic support for Buhari. \ |

Osmondinho: Check your facts well. Any good federal road in the south east today was either initiated or completed between the OBJ and Yaradua era. Roads like Okigwe-Afikpo road, part of Enugu-Abakaliki road, Onitsha-Owerri road etc, were initiated and completed between OBJ/Yaradua era. GEJ never tried at all according to you. I dare you to mention any federal road in the south east initiated and completed by GEJ. 4 Likes |

ogwumgbe: We Igbos gained nothing from GEJ and we couldn't have as he saw us as irrelevant. Refusal to acknowledge our problems and working towards a solution is the reason for all our highways being deplorable. Till this day some misguided Ndigbo go about showing photos of federal roads in Imo State and cursing Rochas Okorocha because they were brainwashed. This photo below is Ihiala-Anara road in Anambra State. The road is this bad from Ihiala till you get to Orlu urban where Okorocha used State funds to dualize about 4km stretch after which it turns a bumpy ride. We must tell ourselves the truth that the 16 years of PDP only paid full attention to Owerri/Onitsha highway with some State Governments doing some areas and getting reimbursed while others have been left to decay totally. 1 Like

calliope:/. I will really like to know how a contract awarded to CCC ended up under the control of regional politicians. CCC was not paid when due after the initial mobilization fund. This extended to subcontractors (eg. Cossel Construction Ltd). Therefore, they abandoned the project. The fact is that there was no political will at the center to fix the road. Worse still, their represntatives at Abuja care more about their selfish ends than the goodness of the electorates. No pressure. No oversight. What do you expect? \ |

Olisa Metuh,Emeka Offor, Iwuanyanwu,Late Ojo Maduekwe etc and the 5 SE governors were in power/corridor of power with him... Abagworo:/ 8 years (including stint under Yar'Adua) the only thing ndi Igbo could boast of under their adopted political son is an International airport in Enugu. I guess Enugu covers Abia, Ebonyi, Imo and Anambra. But then, much shouldn't be expected from a man who couldn't provide access roads and clean water to his village. GEJ has come and gone. The more ndi Igbo continue to live in yesterdays, the more they will be continued to be marginalized at the center. \ 1 Like |

Doug07034780891: If the road had led to Imo state Capital where Okorocha has his businesses and home, Okorocha government would have repaired that bad portion of Ihialla-Orlu roa and ask federal government for reimbursement. Or Okorocha may not even know that the road exists, or that the area is part of Imo state. Maybe Okorocha doesn't expect people to come from that area to his private University in Ideato. |
