The Visa officer assesses the person on sight at the interview and if something feels or looks wrong then it's rejection.
Very difficult to point to one factor in his case.

I have every document like my payslips
,tax clearance certificate,
employment letter and promotion letters,
family photos
,bank statement above N2M,
letter of introduction from my office
my leave letter that starts in october ending,

Please help me give advice if am going with the appropriate documents and If it proves my ties is strong enough because my interview is in abuja next week, with these document I am going with apart from my self confidence will I be granted base on the document I will present to the V.O, thank you a lot for the prompt answer.

For visit visa, documents are NOT checked. So all those things u gathered na just weight you carry dey go.
Your application is treated based on your ds 160 and interview. So the advice for you is to read here and study the transcripts

I am about applying for a visa with my wife and 2 kids for Christmas holiday. I applied in 2010 alone and then I was working but got denied. Now I have a business of my own with a couple of investments too.

I have traveled to Schengen this year, spent two weeks and recently just got back from Dubai with my family this August after 10 days vacation .

I asked someone today how to go about applying for the visa , I was told I need to fill phone number for someone I know in the states in the form as my contact in the states and not compulsory I stay with the person in the states.

I want to know if I can apply same way I applied for the Schengen , I mean just with hotel reservation and flight as I have no direct relative in the states I will fill as my contact.

Also I will like to know about form filling and getting appointment for 4 of us too.

NO so far ur visa is stil valid.Just prepare to answer some trivial questions @POE.They too knw that exigencies may arise that may delay u to use ur visa.

Are you going for conference,Seminar or workshop? Who invited you to study and assess the American tax system and remember they have different state tax system... If your office is sponsoring you.. I believe a sponsorship letter from your office would be handy in case the v.o ask for one (Most time they do not). Your DS160 form is where the koko is and you should proof read it before submitting it.

U are not expected to make any concrete plans until u get ur visa. So no. U shouldn't not book any flight

I got a B1/B2 visa that has expired and i want to renew it via the dropbox service. After filling my DS160,and made payment. i started to fill out my application form for the dropbox, but i logged in with my old profile for the previous visa. i noticed i cannot change my passport number as my old passport expired in 2015. what do you advice? My D160 carries my new passport nos so also payment confirmation. Should i just go ahead with the appointment using the old expired passport but submit both passports at the dropbox center?

you should write them about what to do with the new passport number... Don't do anything until they tell you what to do.

....Oh thank you for educating me more....I am going on my own vAcation as a civil servant...not for seminar or conference,is my annual leave and decided to spend it in New York but I just don't want to make it all photopanorama or selfie things with nice juice alone but see the america life a new Yorker,learn from that economy and build my own understanding of life in the most busiest city of the world...like you rightly said the DS-160 form matters,I just need to be confident and be precise to the VO....thank you for more encouragement.

I see no reason adding the tax issues... You can tell the V.O what you've just narrated and the V.O will determine if you should be issued a visa or not. I wish you good luck and be yourself remember we are all created equally. God bless

Responding from experience. Use the contact embassy in the US booking appointment system to email the embassy for a request to change your old passport number to the new one. The embassy will responses and request for scaned copies of your old and new passport data pages for verification. The embassy will then update your new passport number in your profile. This must be done before you generate a confirmation letter to proceed for the Dropbox submission, else you will have to pay another visa fees. Finally go with your old passport with visa and new passport for Dropbox. At the Dropbox centre they will inspect your expired US visa to make sure you're indeed qualify for Dropbox. Thank me later.

@mizbee Good evening to everyone. Please, were is better to change Naira to Dollars for my travelling? Is it with the aboki's or at the airport? Please.

You can change $ to naira at travellex at MMIA as someone rightly advised. It's $1 to N356. You will need your passport, visa, boarding pass & BVN CARD. Don't bother going to Travellex if you don't have your BVN CARD.
