Musa Mohammed is a beast i disagree with all this talk about him, his team is #1 on the log in Turkey, they still see him as an important player if not he would be in Scotland. Rohr simply knew the ref gave alot of penalties in the past and he set his system up to offset that. Our defenders stayed by the box and instead of going to win tackles they led players into spots were they had backup at.

Musa Muhammad was degraded earlier this season and is now 4th choice right back. The man can get a club today in belgium where he will be first choice. Hopefully, he departs in January.

A couple of ex-internationals did that. But the problem is there is no money in the Nigerian league. The league is not attractive.

Money is the name of the game. If the league is better packaged, most of those guys will come back home. If its exclusively about money, I don't think anyone here can realistically offer them what is obtainable in Qatar and China.
The Npfl down to the amature leagues is the bedrock of our football. Without a solid league at home, whatever we achieve on the international schene are mere accidental discharge.

Theo Solomon & success for instance are more skillful & witty players than ighalo & ideye combined. But who cares as long as u r nt in their favour or epl or western europe. And that boy c. nwakali is also very good. Who called ighalo when he was in norway, italy&spain. But when he moved to england he was called same with success. Nothing has changed about their games. Same style & technique. In nigeria, they have bias for certain countries & players.

Isaac Success should have been invited from his Granada days. Rohr invited Uche Agbo and Awaziem. It shows that he is scouting our players .

I think theo solomon needs to be tested at a better level. Nwakali would probably move to Holland or Belgium in January. That will help his chances of a call-up.

They are faraway. How many players from our league can walk from our league into the Chelsea team as Oscar did?

Anderson went from Gremio as a teenager and became a starter for Porto.

Lucas Leiva went from Gremio to Liverpool and was a starter in no time. Look at the quality of Gabriel Jesus. He can start for many top clubs in football.

We had plenty of players like that Okocha could have walked into that same chelsea at the same age. It is just now that we are getting it right. Before Iheanacho would have gone to Elche, now we can see our boys getting better advice. Osimhen like i have already said could very well walk into the wolfsburg starting 11. We have Nigerians all over the world we are not too far behind in players playing outside.

Musa Mohammed is like Mikel. He's never match rusty and has a big heart for big games.

Also, he's our best natural option AT THE MOMENT in that right back role.

Rohr's decision to play Ndidi was not a case of "mistrust" but a case of "calculated strategic risk" because of Ndidi's "neat" and calm marking qualities and aerial abilities. (I posted the news on Rohr explaining his Ndidi-for-Musa decision)

Musa is a Rohr favorite and deservedly so.

tbaba1234:

Frankly, Musa Muhammad needs to sort out his league situation. Rohr did not trust him in a competitive game and had to draft a DM in that position. We do not have too many RB options. I would not be surprised, if Rohr stops calling him completely soon.

I like Nwobodo but he plays in a stacked position. Right now, we have only competitive games..

Lets leave the team politics aside if we know he is a good player then what is the problem? We know he can handle tough situations so its not like any game his team is playing in Turkey is a big game. As long as he isn't really in Kano and he is with is clubside training and getting better i would still take Musa.

Brazil, it is plenty. Ronaldinho from Gremio to PSG. At a young age.

Iheanacho was not signed from our league and took time to break into Manchester City. I do not know a Nigerian league player today that can walk into Chelsea team. The club will need to groom the player.

From Kaka's wiki page.

The steady European interest in Kaká culminated in his signing with the European champions, Italian club A.C. Milan, in 2003 for a fee of €8.5 million, described in retrospect as "peanuts" by club owner Silvio Berlusconi.

Within a month, he cracked the starting lineup, replacing Rui Costa in the attacking midfield playmaking position, behind strikers Jon Dahl Tomasson, Filippo Inzaghi and Andriy Shevchenko.

I believe if we keep investing in the league and making it more appealing, we can develop quality talents.

Brazil is still far ahead. I still remember Robinho during breaks gotta Brazil to play with Neymar, so he can develop. Santos have old players coaching and developing youngsters.

Football in Nigeria is just struggle for nothing. The LMC improved recently from before and I hope they keep improving. But, Brazil is not here or today. We are far back.

In war, you use everything to your advantage. I think we should keep an Eagle eye on what is happening Algeria, Cameron and Zambia. We can even defeat them before the first blast of the whistle if we are in tune to their team psychology.

While i may see reasons with you concerning Musa Mohammed, i would want to defend Shehu's inclusion in the team.
See, there are certain players when u have them in ur team it is like as if you have 2 or 3 players embedded in one. Shehu Abdulahi is one of such. U know the utility player thing. Ndidi is also another. These are players that can be used in more than one position. Shehu can play RB can Raheem play RB?

What Raheem can offer we have in Mikel and Onazi already.

Mikel is the father of utility in that team as he can play DMF, CMF and AM.

Utility players would always get callup no matter which coach is in charge. Notice that Shehu played under Keshi, Oliseh, Siasia and now Rohr.
Mikel has played under Eguavoen, Amodu, Siasia twice, Keshi, Oliseh and now Rohr. So just leave Shehu for us he is a valuable utility player.

You remember "Chindo"! Garba Lawal? Not so skillfull, no fansiful footwork, did nt play in the greatest leagues in Europe but was abt the most capped player of his time.

That is why I said we have better options. We don't need Shehu Abdullahi because we have better ones.

Brain Idowu can play in 3 different positions. Raheem Lawal can play in three different positions. Tyronne Ebuechi can play in three different positions. Abdul Ajagun can play in three different positions.

As you can see, we have better options.

Brain Idowu's positions on the field.

Iheanacho and Success opened the door and now we have Osimhen, Nwakali and co. The fact is before now, European clubs never gave us a chance. They saw us as role players and not the main attraction. Now with our boys proving them wrong u have more clubs sending scout to Nigeria looking for the next Iheanacho or Success.

The next question that came to mind was 'when d SE became so beloved?' truely a new era is born. But it seems mods on nairaland are still doubting. O ye of little faith kindly move any news/matches concerning this fast rising golden generation of Super Eagles to front page o-no more dulling.

Once in a while, there is that bright spark in the league that without the European grooming can shine. However, I believe Nwobodo is one of the precious gems in football. I do not feel he is ready to work into a top team.

I feel he has the quality to become a top player. Not a top player.

Working in the National team will give him the chance to train with quality players like Mikel, Iheanacho, Iwobi, Balogun, etc.

Then he trains under a quality coach like Rohr who worked with respected names like Dugarry, Lizarazu and Zidane.

This will help him develop a bit and showcase his brilliance on a better stage.
