Yes, only game then he played most of the nations cup. That's why sometimes experience is sometimes overrated.

Different coaches with different philosophies.

The coach we have now believes in " big experience players for the big games". Based on this we know what to expect.

I think Rohr is my kind of coach wink

Aha!!!! The Sirs Mikron-AIG07 tiki-taka "comments" combo don dey return small small.... Hehehehehehehee.... wink

Lemme help you define a plastic fan... Looolll

A plastic fan is one who watches Nigeria's games but has no interest in Nigerian football and when you try to explain to him that he only watches Nigeria's games because it's international week and his club is on break, he responds by saying, "Look, you don't love or know the national team more than me... After all, we are all Nigerians".... Loooollll grin

Now, lemme drop the hammer-blow I got just yesterday while within the medical campus environment for a medical project I came down to Anambra to supervise before returning to lagos soon.... Chaiiiii... You ready?

This same plastic fan talk say, "Okocha's only medal for Nigeria was Atlanta 1996."

When I told him, "But Okocha won The Afcon at Tunisia 1994 even as a starter", he said "You lie!!!!!! Okocha wasn't at Tunisia 1994"

I laughed so hard and went on to say, "He was even at USA 1994" .... The guy was like, "Which kain lies you dey drop so?"

Chaiiiiiii.... His friend then dropped a clanger saying, "Even if Okocha was at Tunisia 94, Na Oliseh dey bench am.... Coz Oliseh na 10 him be for him time"

I went like, "Chisoosss chrisssttiiiiii!!!!!!!!"

I couldn't take it anymore... And refused to show them evidence from the internet coz it was too embarassing.

These guys were die hard barca fans... Looolllll (Sir Bascovanveli... Loolll..m no be my fault, na so I see am) and were even older than I am... Haba!!!!!

Others showed them evidence via the internet that I was right and they were wrong but I took a different route. I showed them videos of USA 94 and Tunisia 94 just to shut them up for the highest good and show them their "Plasticity" and "shallowness" as fans of Nigerian football.

I carry enough videos and clips of Nigeria's exploits in soccer and many more on my Android and computer system... Loooolllll

They were humbled mehn. Chaiiiii... Next time, real Soccer fans of Nigerian soccer talk ehn... Dem go just "shut up and listen"...

It was comedy yesterday I tell you.... To the extent that guys who enjoyed how the videos evidence silenced the "plastic fans" begged to have some of the videos sent to their gadgets so as to use it against anyone who talk nonsense again.

One of them told me... "Video evidence is more powerful than just reading it on the internet..."

He called me a wicked guy for choosing to embarass the guys who said all those "things" with ACTUAL VIDEO EVIDENCE. Loooolllll

Plastic fans...... Their ignorance is real and embarassing. Hahahahahahahahaa...

The worst part.... They don't even know the top scorer of the just concluded Nigerian league season.... Hahahahahahahaha.... **smiles** *winks*

u really hit them hard, grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin
big up to u sir thesupernerd

He also came in and played Right back against Burkina faso in our opening game at the Afcon after Ambrose's red card.

He also played right back a couple of times at Ado den haag of Holland.

Omeruo played one friendly at right back against cape verde.

Using an out of position player is the same thing u r still depending on luck for things to go well.

It is no luck. When it comes to marking and stopping capabilities Omeruo is one of the bests we have seen in the green and white jerseys in recent years. Had Balogun been fit Rohr would probably had started Omeruo at RB instead of Ndidi.

The reasons he gave for starting Ndidi are exactly the qualities Omeruo posseses.

Correct!

I would rather love to see a continuation of Onazi and Mikel partnership at the midfield.

Ekong-Balogun partnership, I cannot say is a perfect one yet cos that Tanzania game was the first they played together as CBs and we know they were not much tested.
One of the reasons why i would want Omeruo at RB is bc the ghost of that Zambia error may still be hunting him. He might get jittery.
Also i have seen Omeruo at RB before, under Keshi.I'v forgotten the game or competition though.I recall he did nt disappoint.

Let us use the Algeria game to test Ekong-Balogun partnership to see if this is what we can bank on.

Gernot Rohr have tested the partnership of Ekong and Balogun against Tanzania I think. We can bank on that.

Who wan dash them draw?? Listen up... I watched that Algeria-Cameroon full highlights video (12mins) and can tell you that we got a better midfield than they do and better defence than they do.

It is their attack that worries me especially Mahrez's role down Echiejile's flank.

We have to establish a five point gap over Algeria RIGHT NOW before the Qualifiers' continuation next year. We shall beat the Algerians as tough as the match is gonna be.

nothing gives me joy when i listen to optimistic loyal fans like u bro. i share ur sentiments 100%. algeria will struggle to get a point in uyo while we go for the full 3 points. i hear rajevac their coach have been sacked by the Algerian FA. hahahahaha double trouble for them

Who is best to fill d LB n RB are our present concern.

It won't be advisable to start Echiejile from d left.
1. He lacks d pace to cope against d algerians which might want to explore that side with longballs(e.g 2nd half vs. Zambia).
2. He is easily caught out of position.
3. Iwobi can't track back to defend well. If played from d left.
So who do we play in his place?
*Taiwo? Oh no! already 31(football age), overlaps too much, last played for eagles against Argentina@2010 worldcup.
*Oshaniwa? Same with him. He has been out for a while. No time to integrate with d team.
*Amuzie&Madu are too young and less experienced to cope with such attack. Poor timing n crosses as we can see @ Rio.
FOR NOW Elderson Echiejile should start but with V.Moses playing from left- I think we'll have a good cover up.

For d RB:
Ndidi should not start.
It's either shehu or Omuero should be deploy but not Onazi (He is too attack minded that he'll join d attack and therefore exposing d defence-no amount of instruction will keep him there)

Onazi last played as a RB 3 years ago, this is 2016 incase the date in your phone isn't correct. And with the kind of misplaced passes he recorded against Zambia, we are going to concede from his poor passes. A defensive midfielder only needs to be able to chase the ball, but a RB needs to be able to pass well and sadly Onazi isn't up for that.

Yes, Taye Taiwo plays competitive football and guess what? Echejile doesn't. He is a bench warmer for Standard Liege which is in which country anyways? Taiwo plays for Kemi Passa or so in the finnish league and is their top scorer, with Taiwo we get two things, a left back and a dead ball specialist. So yes Taiwo is still a better option than Echejile atleast and I have never mentioned Amuzie anyways.

Yes, we can both agree on your last point. For me, Esiti starts ahead of Onazi. The Algerians are going to approach the game technically unlike the Zambians that came with physical strength and that suited Onazi's game. The Algerians will work with passes, not direct runs and it requires a midfielder who can position himself well, Onazi can't do this, he relies more on his pace and ability to chase down opponents, Mikel can do it well but our coach won't want to play him there so for me, Esiti is okay. He has long legs which he can extend to intercept passes and his passing range is okay

If Rohr extends an invitation to Taiwo, it's a welcome development. But...... I don't see it coming.
For now, we can make shift with Omeruo as RB, Ekong and Balogun as CBD, where we have a problem is with the left back.

Since the exit of Chidi Odiah at RB, we seem not to get a Capable replacement. We miss Taiwo at left back. Echiejele of 2013 is a shadow of himself now but I think he is more reliable than Amuzie and Oshaniwa. Do we turn our attention to players in the diaspora? Will Rohr experience against the lethal attacking force of the Algerians? No.

This is what the defense will look like against the Algerians

Good points.

U answered all the question as regarding the LB urself. If i had wanted to gun for Amuzie i would remember how Mohammed Salah turn him to his errand boy when we played Egypt in Kaduna.

Echiejile is our best option for the next game. However i dnt buy the idea of starting Moses from the left instead of Iwobi. Let us not destabilize our attacking strenght bc we want to fortify our LB.Iwobi can start as LWF. He needs to be talked to to do more in supporting Echiejile and Echiejile should also minimise his forward runs and maintain position
One of the centre backs should also be on alert to cover each time Echijile makes a forward move. You cannot completely stop forward mives by wing backs bc it is part of modern football.

Victor Moses can start as the RWF. We need him more here cos we are likely fielding a make shift RB again. Moses can provide support here.

yes I can accept this backline, so long as Onazi isn't there. If Brahimi plays then we might have a problem, but if he doesn't we could have an advantage there, we could play a narrow left defence which means Onazi will be predominantly the LB while Echejile plays as a second LCB, it's complicated and since our players don't play in top teams it will be hard, so we just have to manage and pray

As we are talking of our Super Golden Generation, Brazil is also saying the same thing. Brazil feels this is a special set.

They just won the Olympics football gold medal and some brilliant young talents were in the squad. They won all their last five matches. They have some promising young players in their national team and they have the league to promote their talents.

Gabigol, I think is 19 years old turned down a deal of over $20,000,000 to join Juventus. He chose to remain at Santos.

No body here is pleased with the situation at the RB and we have all agreed that the lasting solution is to scout for and groom natural RBs. However, for the Algeria game we may still have a make shift RB.

Whoever Rorh wants to invite before or after the Algeria game, be it Mohammed, Brain, Tyronne, Odubanjo, Asoro, Maja, Osede, Lazarus, Sincere, Ekpolo, it is up to him.

My own is we dnt want to see a "green horn" at RB against Algeria. One of our CBs preferably Omeruo would be more suitable.
cc: forgiveness

I think he should invite either Brain Idowu and Tyrone Ebuechi to deputy for Omeruo.

It seems Omeruo may play better in that position just for the Algerian game.
