It all happened on the 10th of October I left home in Ontario and decided to go on vacation in the beautiful city of st Petersburg with a childhood friend of mine who is White. When taking our usual tour walk with our complete papers and tourist passport, I observed that most people along the street kept on staring and moving away from us especially me....

We later discovered we've missed our way because we visited most of the tour centers with our map, so we decided to ask the locals around for help. When I approached them for direction, although we had issues with language difference they would just grin and shout out loud, some would run away and avoid me from getting close when I tried asking for direction.

I finally discovered I was been avoided because of my dark skin colour, so i asked my friend to do the questioning while I stood far away but there was no way they could help even with the map due to the language difference. They offered assistance by pointing to a police stand we went there with the intention of asking for direction, the two policemen shook hands with my white friend but ignored shaking hands with me, after giving us directions on how we could get a cab that will take us to our hotel, we thanked them and we were about leaving the policemen called us back and asked what I'm carrying in my backpack. I told him I have my papers some money and my lunch. He took the bag from me checked it himself he saw my papers were complete yet he refused returning my backpack, i got very angry and asked him to return my backpack yet he refused my friend tried pleading yet he refused...

What made me angry was because he didn't ask for the contents in my friend's backpack when he saw how furious and angry I've become, he returned the backpack and started raining abusive racist word in both Russian and English. I threatened him I would file a complaint to the Russian Police, and told him I would file legal actions against him. After threatening him, he stopped the insult and in a few minutes a police car drove to our scene i believe the locals around contacted the police. A superior officer from the police vehicle apologised on his behalf, he was also asked to apologise which he did reluctantly the most embarrassing part of it was when all the drama was unfolding the locals around gathered to catch a glimpse of what was happening while others took pictures.

We finally got back to the hotel I was very angry all through, I had to reschedule for the next flight and I went back home the next day.

All through my lifetime I have never been subjected to such a degrading and embarrassing moment.

If you've never being, then don't say what you don't know. Even in the USA, where there is a large black population, there are many communities where a white person will not walk towards you on the same path of the road. Instead, they will cross the road and walk on the other side.

Walking away from you to the other side of the road doesn't necessarily say racism.
I do that too, especially when I feel the person coming get kolo for head, even if they're white. Their own kolomental no get part 2 , so you just use style judge the situation, and also stylishly cross to the other side of the road.
For me, that's self preservation.

We blacks don't have unity and we are not really contributing anything to develop the world. The slavery we put ourselves into is more than what the whites are doing to us. Work in Nigeria for months without getting paid, which will never happen in the West e.g UK or usa

Racism is everywhere in the west. Don't be shocked to read from me that racism in the US is high as ever. I have seen it all.

It's worse in the south; Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana, parts of Florida, parts of Georgia. Carolinas.

Even in the north, there are subtle ways of racism.

Also, at least the Russian police didn kill him. Blacks in America are more likely to be killed by US police than by ISIS

Racism will die a natural death when Africans come to their senses, take control of our native languages, culture, history, education. Only then shall we be able to learn to go to moon, build our own airplanes, cars, ship, submarines, e.t.c. Racism persists because black people in Africa have not gained the respect of the world.

Consider this.................

You're a Nigerian because whiteman said you're a Nigerian.

Our official language is English because whiteman said so.

Today is Friday because white man said today is Friday.

This month is October because white man said so.

Jesus is our saviour because whiteman said so.

Mohammad is our messenger to Allah because Arabs said so.

Knowledge is only knowledge when whiteman create one for us to learn.

Oxygen is Oxygen because whiteman said so.

e.t.c, e.t.c.

As long as we continue to accept these things hook, line, and sinker without being able to add, question, create knowledge to school our minds according to our own needs, for so long shall black people be let down as people without intellectual capability. As a matter of fact, for so long shall we continue to be controlled like sheep.

Its unfortunate, but the black race is disrespected worldwide because of our backwardness in Africa.

You are a very big liar. I have lived in St. Petersburg for 15 years and never experienced anything like this....there are few racists and incidents but nobody will stare at you in those countries since everywhere is filled with blacks and they even have more than 3 Nigerian restaurant and one of it is run by my wife. Is it by force to make it to the front page?
Even when I was living in Novosibirsk as the very few black person. I never experienced any form of racism and the occasional stares was out of curiosity not hate.
Unless maybe you are a remarkably ugly person or your attire was unbelievably ancient or weird which in that case you will get stares even in you hamlet
so, they hate ugly people? But y?

There are whites only apartments, bars, clubs and restaurants in Nigeria. Didn't you get the memo? A whiteman or woman can easily get you arrested in Nigeria than you could have them arrested.

Welcome to life.

dancok:
don't you think is too late.

You know.......... many people have asked this question. I think I'll blog about it pretty soon.

No, its not late at all!. There's a saying here in Nigeria ''when one wakes up is his morning".

Ok, let me use Britain itself as an example.

Britain itself was also partially enslaved and controlled by foreigners. Most people don't know this.

410 AD the Romans left Britain- before this Britain was ruled by Rome and they spoke Latin at this time.
450 AD saw influx of Germanic tribes (Angles, Saxons)- before this Britain spoke a mix of German at this time.
597 Christian missionaries (Latin). Again they spoke Latin.
800 AD Virkings
1066 Norman conquest; lead by William the conqueror- They spoke French at this time.

So, as you can see, if there was any country that should speak foreign language it should be Britain, because at various time in their lives they spoke different languages imposed on them by foreigners.

Let me fast forward.........

After many years of occupation, they finally fought off foreign intruders from the British isle and in 1362 English became an official language.

Meanwhile, the educated people in Britain (just like educated people in former British and French colonies) kept on speaking the languages of their oppressors. In same way the educated thinks its fashionable to speak English in Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, Kenya, Uganada. And in Ivory Coast, Congo, Benin republic, the educated thinks its fashionable to speak French and use it as a languages of knowledge acquisition.

In 1660 the Royal society was formed by Isaac Newton and other scientists. After using Latin and a mix of all the other foreign languages for a while as the language of science, something happened that changed science education in Britain. Again, note that it was the elites (those educated) that spoke Latin and all the other languages given them by foreigners- same way the so called educated people in Africa speak English or French and use it as a language of knowledge acquisition.

Also note that Britain always had their own native English language (just like we have our Igbo, Yoruba, Hausa, Fulani, Zulu, Sona, e.t.c), but which has been suppressed to obscurity due to slavery and colonialism. English language suffered exactly the same fate as our native African languages when Britain was occupied.

One day while in a meeting discussing the principles of gravity using the fall of an apple from a tree, Isaac Newton along with other scientists discovered it was better discussing science in their native English language which everybody understood naturally. They discovered they were not talking about apple falling from a tree in Rome. They discovered they were not learning about apple falling from a German tree, but about an apple falling right there in Britain, like it would fall every other place in the world. Therefore, they discovered it was better discussing physics in their native English language since they were not foreigners unto themselves. That's how they repealed foreign languages as the language of knowledge acquisition in Britain.

And that simple spark of idea was later to literally usher in a scientific revolution in England as the minds of British people became opened about science. Within few years Britain (an underdog) entered the age of industrial revolution. They were able to manufacture better ships and compass, ruled, enslaved, colonized a good part of the world, and was ahead of the rest of Europe and the world.

The same thing would happen when we unlock the power in our various native languages across Africa. Actually, we would over-take white people.

This is exactly the realization the so called educated people need to make in Africa. Once we do this we would come back to our natural selves and begin to develop. We cannot develop for now, because we have not laid the foundation for development.

The basic foundation for development for a nation is language. It was even quoted in the bible at Genesis 11:6. The foundation to learn to build, manufacture, produce anything is native language. If you disable that power of NATURAL language you've disabled power to build.

By they way, Britain is not the only nation that achieved this in the past. Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei, Japan, at one point in their national lives, repealed foreign languages in their system and started acquiring knowledge on their own terms. That's what living humans should do. And until Africa do this, black people will never be respected.

This's a rough explanation. See video below (ten minutes).

Pele o. Those peeps are irredeemably racist! My brother has been living there for the past 15 yes now. He's married to one of them with Two beautiful dauthers. The guy got beaten countless times due to his skin colour and he was a poor boy for the most of it until his gf married and drew him into their circle. Then he got a certain degree of acceptance.

By the way, the wife has refused to learn English. Which means, my poor mom is only left with the option of looking at pictures. No hearing the kids talk o...language barrier.

Eastern Europe, is the last place that I would advice any black to settle down in or have meaningful thing do there. They are almost100% illiterates, that's wy they behave like that, few are exposed to western education.
I came across them at the factory where I worked at in the UK few months back. Especially, the polish, Lithuanians and co. Despite the fact that we were all strangers, they still went to show who they are, but they met me there, as I show them the sense of their life, since then they become my friends by force.
I was planning for them how to post on line the racist gestures towards on the factory board, the company had to warn them severally and told them implications on the image of the company.
I know how to treat them very well. They are mostly illiterates that can not speak simple English.
Poland is the worst...
