Mamas, I hail ooo. How can I stop my 2yrs old son from sucking his fingers cos he's has been coughing for a week plus now and I know it's cos he also sucks his fingers that's y it hasn't improved also av tried al bitter tyns but this boy sucks evrytn. Now I'm scarred for my 5weeks old boy cos he started sneezing n coughing lightly yesterday n he's not ready to sleep in his bassinet so I sleep btw him n his elder bro. Can I try the palm oil n sugar remedy for both of them though my baby's own is still mild. Thanks.

@sugah, I laughed when I saw your post about your nanny.
@preVa, some agents take 10k that is the highest I have seen.
To all mamas pls if your nanny is not a Live in pls do routine checks like once in six months. Don't just do the first time and relax pls to avoid stories that touch.
@onegai, my nanny is a woman (a widow) sometimes the way she will dress I will just tease her, are you looking for a customer? ( tight legese with short top, you will be seeing all her curves to the shape of het virgina) And she will laugh, will it be right for me to sew a uniform for her ?
She fit they find customers or is she too old to re-marry? Pls caution her anytime she puts on something like that. Let her use a long top cos you know as everything down below will be reporting for duty inside the legends. She should dress responsibly knowing fully well she will be handling kids. Even schools don't allow teachers to dress that way or anyhow cos even some kyn kids go dey admire aunty Amaka's big Nyash inside legends lipsrsealed

My lo3 socked her hand too and I tried all the available method but it was all wash.... At a point, I did the unthinkable by using razor to make a little slash on that her finger(don't try it if you don't have the mind). She stopped it that very moment cause it pained her any time she puts her fingers on the mouth. That was how she stopped entirely.
As for the oil and honey method, use a teaspoon to give him, it would clear gradually

Hello mamas. I just noticed for some days now that my babies no longer want to take formula in their feeding bottle, they rather just play with it like they are sucking or they push the feeder to the corner of their mouth and use their gum to make the milk flow. And this is making them not to eat well. Could this be a phase? Or they no longer like the formula I changed to or what? Has anyone experienced something like this

Same thing with my dd, she's now rejecting cup and spoon. I switched back to her feeding bottle but still the same. I even beg her to suck breast. Seriously I'm tired. Bought another brand of formula today, I just hope she accepts.

Please sabi mama's attend to our question.

shocked shocked shocked, that sucking is so annoying. I almost put my baby's finger on hot pot some days ago but was considering his health because he is teething and has not been eating fine. Before he gets to 10 months, I must stop him by fire by thunder

Hello mamaas...pls does anyone have any good domestic staff agency info?? My wonderful nanny leaves soon to progress in life...any good agency in Abj or Lag...tried and tested ones pls, not all these one man love-vendor agency...lol

I have always used uniforms for my staffs...ankara. It is a very good thing to do, keeps them focused on what they are there to do. Not always though, imagine my shock when a girl I just employed asked me to make her jumpsuit n romper as a uniform, and even showed me the pictures of the style!

My advise, let the uniform be professional but decent.

mompurity2 and prettyhurts, welcome to the club. Baby E did the same (and hers was much worse!), my niece did the same (and at 8 months switched fully to Eba and ogbono soup). A lot of babies do this, and try as you may to change formulas and feeding patterns, sometimes they decide to start drinking again from a bottle by themselves or sometimes they just don't want it anymore. If your babies are above the age of 6 months, start weaning and concentrate on foods rich in Calcium (like sweet potatoes) and load her with veggies and maybe add a vitamin supplement.

She's just 5months, can I start weaning her or should I continue cajoling her to take her formula?

Mamas, have you seen this thread?

They have created an app that teaches the main Nigerian languages. The OP says it's free for now so why not check it out and see if you like it.

Hmmm. Some people will say that's old enough but can you hold out till 6 months? Try asking DH to feed her if it will help.

You can send me a pm for their contact. I ve used them twice and if you want to change the person you initially picked in less than 6months, you won't pay again. They will get you different pple based on what you want and you make your selesction. It's 20k for agency fee twice that I used them. Dunno if the price have increased.

Lol! The full phrase is " using a sledgehammer to kill a fly / mosquito"
But many people shorten it to "using a sledgehammer" or sledgehammer approach"

Basically means:

one is over-reacting OR

there is usually an easier way or a less aggressive method to do something OR

one is being too heavy handed in their approach regarding a relatively small issue.

Lol tojued is doing ghost mode, waiting for some sabi mama to suggest a tested agency in Abuja.

If I knew a good agency, my baby won't be in daycare right now. The one I tried out did not work at all, the Nanny lasted exactly two weeks.

It depend on your agreement with the nanny and what she will be doing, number of kids. You also have to key in transportation cost etal. I started with 20k for testing lol that was 4yrs bk and graduated to 30k 2yrs ago. I don't have a nanny for now.

Yes, you mix it on your palm and then apply.

When i get home i'll modify this post and upload a pic. You have to look for the original palm kernel oil. My mum sends the original one for me every month. It's light brown, while the fake is black.

Not to use soap on baby? I've never heard that o. Baby soap was even part of my hospital list

They told us not to use cream and powder till 6 months. I'm not sure how that will pan out embarassed

Thank you for the directions, I will tell my MIL to help me get some.
