the south Koreans have one of the best defense industry no doubts about that. African countries can try to benefit from them since they r open on joint production and joint ventures/development etc. i would advice such ventures in the ship building and ammo manufacturing domain especially.

South Korea 's shipbuilding industry is
shrinking as their biggest fleet contractor HANJIN is about to bankrupt, other big company suffer fiancial crisis.

However this may not stop it's coopration with other country.May USA or any other country help them?

ammo manufacturing even India private company is doing business well in Africa.

the Russians need to update there air doctrine. is dere d possibility of having stealth missile
Pilot training is the reason behind those looses. Russians are way better.

Majority of, if not all modern BVRAAMs use active radar guidance. Putting out waves in search of the target mostly in the terminal phase of their flight. Meaning their approach isn't really quiet.

SRAAMs mostly use IR seekers meaning they maintain a passive flight even in the attacking terminal phase. This method of guidance operates like an eye though looking out for IR signatures.

I believe many air combat kills will still be WVR.

you are a piece of crap , every time you post it feels like u r the biggest ignoramus in this world , if half the Chinese people r like u , that we have nothing to worry.

insurgents ? u fuuking piece of shiit
these r the Indian para military forces THE ASSAM RIFLES one of the worlds oldest para military forces,
and these will be the same guys who will be fuuking ur Chinese ass if ever the time comes to do it.

india spreading insurgent ? angry
u fuuk the only time it was in sri lanka due to the miscalculations/stupidity/misadventurism of the intels, when they realized they made a mistake they sent IPKF to kill the same insurgents. thousands of Indian soldiers died trying to finish off the LTTE who later killed the indian prime minister rajiv gandhi for going against them .

as for the Chinese supporting terrorism/insurgents on a world wide scale is not a new case

Pakistan based terror organizations JEM (AZHAR MAHMMOD), LET , HM etc who r designated as terrorists / terrorist organizations by UN are been protected by the Chinese government by using their veto power in security council.

terrorists from northeast India are provided safe haven in Yunnan province of china by the Chinese government .

Chinese government provide support and equipment especially money in excess of 100 millions to the dreaded TALIBAN organization in exchange of downed American tomahawk cruise missiles.

Chinese government directly/indirectly fueled conflicts/insurgents in many poor under developed nations in ASIA/AFRICA by supplying small arms especially used/discarded weapons / ammo in a massive scale. millions of people died .

Chinese government supports and funds insurgents in Myanmar in-spite of having good relations with Myanmar to keep the country in its control.
Chinese intelligence is involved in supporting the largest drug cartel the united WA state army UWSA the largest and deadliest narcotics terror group in Asia. Chinese government has supplied SAMs and even tanks to these insurgents/narco-terrorists in Myanmar including kachin independence organization KIO.

Chinese government supported and funded insurgents / terrorists in Philippines . when Chinese premier chao tzu yang was visiting manila in 1972 the Philippines security forces discovered thousands of arms supplied to communist insurgents by the the Chinese government.

Chinese government supported/funded/trained communist insurgent in Thailand which led to much blood shed from 1965 to 1983.

Chinese government supported/funded/trained communist insurgent in Malaysia.

Chinese government supported/funded/trained communist insurgent in Laos

in Cambodia Chinese government supported/funded/trained communist Khmer rouge insurgents which led to a genocide millions of people killed .
special mention must be made of how the Chinese built a huge air base in Kampong Chhang province in central Cambodia with Khmer slave labour, of whom an estimated 50,000 died.

Chinese communist party committed large scale terrorism in its own country , in the period between 1927 and 1949 more than 3.5 million Chinese died .

Chinese communist party under Mao committed terrorism in industrial scale after 1949, The first large-scale killings under Mao took place during land reform and the counterrevolutionary campaign. In official study materials published in 1948, Mao envisaged that "one-tenth of the peasants" (or about 50,000,000) "would have to be destroyed" to facilitate agrarian reform.Actual numbers killed in land reform are believed to have been lower, but at least one million.

additionally Chinese government brutally targeted mainly former Kuomintang officials and intellectuals suspected of disloyalty. At least 712,000 people were executed, 1,290,000 were imprisoned in labor camps and 1,200,000 were "subject to control at various times."

Chinese government in the 1958-61 period implemented the The Great Leap Forward which bettered its genocide record . the Great Leap Forward was a cause of the Great Chinese Famine and that the worst effects of the famine were steered towards the regime's enemies. the death toll was at least 45 million, and that In most cases the Chinese government knew very well that it was starving its own people to death.
"coercion, terror, and systematic violence were the foundation of the Great Leap Forward" and it "motivated one of the most deadly mass killings of human history"

Chinese government invades Tibet which was never a part of china and commits large scale genocide.most brutal forms of torture and inhuman treatment given out to Tibetans. the Chinese government wrongly imprisoned political prisoners and prisoners of conscience, ill-treatment of detainees, including torture, the use of the death penalty, extrajudicial executions, forced abortions, sterilisation and infanticide etc.
more than 1.2 million Tibetans were killed under Chinese rule and still continuing.

Falun Gong is a qigong discipline combining slow-moving exercises and meditation with a moral philosophy centered on the tenets of truthfulness, compassion and tolerance. It was founded by Li Hongzhi, who introduced it to the public in May 1992 in Changchun, Jilin. Following a period of rapid growth in the 1990s, the Communist Party launched a campaign to "eradicate" Falun Gong on 20 July 1999.The persecution of Falun Gong refers to the campaign initiated in 1999 by the Chinese Communist Party to eliminate the spiritual practice of Falun Gong in China.

An extra-constitutional body called the 6-10 Office was created to lead the persecution of Falun Gong. The campaign was driven by large-scale propaganda through television, newspaper, radio and internet. large scale use of systematic torture, illegal imprisonment, forced labor, organ harvesting and abusive psychiatric measures, with the apparent aim of forcing practitioners to recant their belief in Falun Gong.

WELCOME to the modern worlds government sponsored SLAVE LABOR SYSTEM : Laogai the abbreviation for Láodòng Gǎizào which means "reform through labor", is a slogan of the Chinese criminal justice system and has been used to refer to the use of penal labour and prison farms in the People's Republic of China (PRC), which once took up more than half of the world's slaves.Laogai is different from laojiao, or re-education through labor, which was an administrative detention for a person who was not a criminal but had committed minor offenses, and was intended to reform offenders into law-abiding citizens. Persons detained under laojiao were detained in facilities that were separate from the general prison system of laogai. Both systems, however, involved penal labor.

more than eight million people suffer inside these camps. They are forced to labor. If they do not, they will starve. If they do not produce their quota, they will be fed less food, and often are beaten. If the quality of their work is not up to what the guards demand, they will be punished.
Made In China — But Was It Made In A Prison? .Publication of information about China's prison system by Al Jazeera English resulted in its expulsion from China on May 7, 2012.

large scale organ harvesting from political prisoners has no parrallels in the world
.organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners and other political prisoners in China r practiced in industrial scale. According to the reports, political prisoners, mainly Falun Gong practitioners, are being executed "on demand" in order to provide organs to recipients. The organ harvesting is said to be taking place both as a result of the Chinese Communist Party's persecution of Falun Gong and because of the financial incentives available to the institutions and individuals involved in the trade.

New Delhi and Moscow purportedly have finally agreed to a work-share agreement for the co-production of a new warplane.

By Franz-Stefan Gady
September 12, 2016

After repeated delays, India and Russia have agreed to a detailed work-sharing agreement for the joint production of design and production of a new fighter jet under the so-called joint Sukhoi/HAL Fifth Generation Fighter Aircraft (FGFA) project, known in India as the Perspective Multi-role Fighter (PMF), according to Indian media reports.

“From a preliminary document that was barely two dozen pages, we have agreed on a 650 page detailed plan that specifies exactly what all will be shared,” an unidentified Indian defense official told The Economic Times. A final contract is expected to be signed in early 2017.

The talks between Indian and Russian defense officials were allegedly accelerated ahead of an Indian-Russian summit to be held in Goa on October 15. As I reported in January, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi failed to reach an agreement during a bilateral meeting in Moscow in December 2015.

The FGFA/PMF project has been hampered by repeated delays since the start of the project in 2007 and the signing of a preliminary $295 million design contract in 2010. In 2015, Indian Defense Minister Manohar Parrikar decided to make one last push toward reaching an agreement with Russia. I explained:

Delays were caused by New Delhi and Moscow disagreeing over many fundamental aspects of the joint development project including work and cost share, aircraft technology, as well as the number of aircraft to be ordered. After evaluating the first PAK FA T-50 prototype (the Russian prototype of the PMF), the Indian Air Force (IAF) wanted more than 40 changes addressing, among other things, perceived weaknesses in the plane’s engine, stealth, and weapon-carrying capabilities.

Russia announced in late 2015 that it would only induct a squadron (18-24 aircraft) of PAK FA fighter aircraft, and procure additional Sukhoi Su-35 aircraft instead. The original deal involved Russia procuring 250 and India 144 aircraft at a cost of around $30 billion by 2022. As a result, India threatened to abandon the project in its entirety. Russia in turn made a number of concessions including an offer to cut down its financial contribution from $6 to $ 3.7 billion for three PAK FA T-50 prototypes and substantial technology transfers.

Despite the agreeing on a work-share plan, problems with the FGFA/PMF project nevertheless will remain.

Russia’s defense industry is still facing technical (as well as financial) hurdles including designing a new engine for the aircraft, given that PAK FA prototypes are currently using engines also installed on Sukhoi Su-35S 4++ generation multi-role fighter jets, calling into question whether the PAK FA can genuinely be classified as an 5th generation aircraft

As part of the effort to salvage the defense deal, Moscow has also agreed to let Indian test pilots fly the PAK FA T-50 prototype currently undergoing flight trials in Russia. Hundreds of flight tests have taken place over the last months and the Russian Air Force expects the first aircraft to be inducted into its ranks in 2017. Nevertheless, many senior officers in the IAF remain skeptical about the aircraft’s affordability and capabilities.

******************************************************************

BENAULIM (GOA): With military deals worth about Rs 60,000 crore signed and sealed with India here, Russia is hopeful that another big ticket agreement on Fifth Generation Fighter Aircraft will be inked by year-end.

"The agreement had been completed on our end, we are ready to sign it. It is now down to the Indian side.

"There are some formalities to figure out, but I think it will be signed by the end of this year," Sergei Chemezov, CEO of Rostec State Corporation a Russian umbrella organisation of 700 hi-tech civilian and military firms, said here.

After a hiatus of nearly a year, India and Russia had in February revived talks on the much delayed FGFA project after a clearance from Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar.

Since then, a lot of issues related to work share, IPR and technology transfer among others have been sorted out between the two sides along with the monetary commitments.

Under the new offer, India will have to pay about $3.7 billion, instead of $ 6 billion, for the technological know-how and three prototypes of the fighters, defence sources have said.

In 2010, India had agreed to pay $295 million towards the preliminary design of the fighter, called in India as Perspective Multi-role Fighter (PMF).

"The FGFA project will produce a state of the art fighter jet, and it will be the result of the work on Russia's most modern technology done by both Russian and Indian engineers and constructors," Chemezov said.

"As a Fifth Generation, it means fifth generation speed, ballistics and military equipment, avionics and stealth capabilities among other qualities," he said.

"It shall be on a par with the capabilities of Russia's PAK-FA T-50 aircraft, a Fifth-Generation fighter but as it will be designed in the next few years, it is likely to exceed it in some specifics.

"Our technology is always developing," the Russia's top defence industry official said.

IT SEEMS ON AUGUST 2015 AN IAF F16SOUFA WAS SHOT DOWN OVER SYRIA BY AN S300 SYSTEM

it was not reported by western media.

the way it shot down the jet is very interesting and as far as i am concerned is possible.

first an SA-9 and an SA-2 was fired.
this was only a ruse to occupy the ECM of the F16, the F16 ECM as expected initiated its counter measures to the incoming SAMs.

basically what the Syrians did was to get the F16 jammers (PART OF ECM) attention by illuminating it with older generation SAMs and as expected the F16s jammers prioritized these (less potent) threats starting with the closest one when a missile was fired from the S300 ,
lol shocked
the S300 shot down the jet.
It is a classical case of HONEY TRAPPING via false (low potency) threats, with concurrent overwhelming of the defensive system so that the end game (high potency) missile gets its kill with high probability.

nice way to set and spring a trap especially for an Israeli jet - no easy task. guess the Russians were behind it.

Israeli PM after this had flown to Russia , and agreed not to breach Syrian airspace

Syria Shoots Down Israeli Warplane F-16 Bomber, Using Russian S-300 Air Defense System

The shooting down of an Israeli warplane by Syria has not been reported by Western and Israeli media sources. According to Sputnik, on August 21, “the Israeli Air Force resumed airstrikes on Western Syria, targeting a government army base at Khan Al-Sheih in Damascus province and another in the al-Quneitra province after a six-hour halt in attacks that followed their multiple air raids over the Golan Heights.”

Fars News Agency (FNA) also confirmed the Israeli attacks and the shooting down of an Israeli fighter plane

The Syrian air defense system shot down an Israeli warplane violating the Arab country’s air space.

The Israeli fighter jet was targeted over the city of Al-Quneitra on Friday.

Israel regularly violates the Syrian airspace and it launches missile attacks against the Arab country.

On Friday, the Israeli Air Force resumed airstrikes on Western Syria, targeting Brigade 68 Base in Khan Al-Sheih in Damascus province and Brigade 90 Base in the al-Quneitra province after a six hour halt in attacks that followed their multiple air raids over the Golan Heights.

Yesterday, Friday, August 21, 2015 in the early hours, Damascus time, an Israeli US made F-16 fighter-bomber, flew into Syrian airspace brazenly and fired at Brigade 68 and, then, turned and flew back toward Brigade 90 in Qunaytra in order to insure a safe landing in occupied Palestine if the aircraft was struck. It was struck. An SA-9 from the Iftiraas Air Defense Base and an SA-2 near the Khalkhaala AB were fired. But, the technical wizardry was most on display when an S-300 (SA-10 “Grumble) super-air-defense missile was fired from the Republican Guard base near the Mazza AB at the foot of Qaasiyoon Mountain west of Damascus. This was done so that the F-16’s electronic countermeasures would first fix on the SA-2 and SA-9 while the S-300 plowed forward to exterminate the vermin inside the Israeli aircraft. The S-300 vaporized the Israeli bomber. No evidence was seen of the pilot ejecting. Instead, eyewitness accounts described a ball of fire over the Golan and the remains scattering into the air over the Huleh Valley in Palestine.

Also, the Israelis lost 2 helicopters while flying missions over the Golan Heights in an effort to bolster the sagging morale of the Takfiri rats of Nusra/Alqaeda and Al-Ittihaad Al-Islaami li-Ajnaad Al-Shaam. The 2 helicopters went down over the area near Qunaytra City and were reportedly shot down by shoulder fired, heat-seeking missiles deployed throughout the Syrian Army.

Syria’s Right to Self Defense

It had to happen, sooner or later. The seeming diffidence of the Syrian brass had to transform into a bolder and more pugnacious articulation of Syria’s right to self-defense. With Russia now inevitably bound to the Syrian government for reasons discussed at length on our website; and Iran, now dazzled by a new role to play in regional politics; the green light turned on, finally, with Moscow withdrawing all restrictions on the use of advanced weaponry sold to the Syrian military. If you want to know what the former Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman, Martin Dempsey, meant when he told Congress Syria had a “robust air defense system”, the Zionists just found out for themselves.

Yesterday, there was despondence after Israel assaulted Qunaytra and killed civilians seated in a public vehicle. The Israelis also killed one Syrian soldier and wounded several others in the Brigade 68 base.

But, the Syrian Army Chief of Staff, in consultation with the president and the Defense Minister, had no intention of letting this episode slide by especially in light of President Putin’s recent meeting with the Turkish ambassador in Moscow during which he flatly told the diplomat that relations with Turkey would be severed if Erdoghan did not stop supporting terrorism. It also came just after Sergei Lavrov called the Saudi foreign minister an “slowpoke” just as the latter was renouncing any intention to treat with the Syrian government. There is a new belligerency in both Moscow and Teheran and it is being translated into action over Syria.

Terrain masking refers to a method of avoiding detection by radar, typically early warning radars or surface-to-air missiles. Essentially it consists of having the aircraft fly close enough to the ground that local terrain like hills and valleys block the line of sight between the aircraft and the radar, rendering the aircraft invisible.
It is important as a means of avoiding active radar by positioning the aircraft so there is natural earth hiding it from the radio waves sent from the radar system. For instance, suppose a radar transmitter is installed on a hill to monitor an area. If there was a sufficiently deep nearby valley, an aircraft flying near the bottom would not be detected because the radar would be absorbed by the top of the valley and not reach the aircraft. This concept works even on flat terrain, although only at longer ranges, due to the curvature of the earth.

grin grin grin lol. I have always wanted to ask. Does India have any spare military jets that she is not using again? You guys seem to have too much everything. I wouldn't mind to collect on behalf of NAF. angry
I heard
Ecuadorian Air Force have some Dhruv grounded, but lack of maintainlance. However if NAF don't have good knowledge to maintain, not recommend.it looks like ecuador is not satisfied.no offensive just the fact.but Israel also has it.it seems no problem.

Z-9 is also complained in South America.user not very satisfied

collecting what ? China has hundreds of F-7s about to retired.and some new built FT-7s in store.

lolzzzz grin grin grin grin

the government of the last 10 years almost killed the air force. angry

present strength is around 30 squadrons , officially sanctioned strength is 42 squadrons while air force requirement is for 55 squadrons.

within 5 years 10 squadrons will go out of action without any immediate replacement.

therefor there r talks of another restricted tender for light weight single engine fighters for 12 billion dollars .

for these there r 2 contenders F16V and Gripen E around 120+ of them.

these are in addition to the 40 LCA + 100 LCAMK1A ordered + another 200 LCAMK1A (unconfirmed) + 200-300 LCAMK2 (unconfirmed)

production rate of LCA is 8 per annum shortly it will be 16 per annum which is too few .

so long story short indian air force needs to do what ur trying to do grin

personally i think along with the jf17 NAF should buy 12+ tucanos .

it will double up as 2nd stage trainer, a step higher than the super mushak which will act as a 1st stage basic trainer.

super mushak will teach the rookies basic flying skills only
while the tucanos with the MFDS and weapons delivery capability will teach the advanced skills of combat maneuvering and weapons delivery.

it will shorten the training time required for advanced fling skill in intermediate jet trainers and LIFTS (lead in fighter trainers).

pros : less time spent in training, very cost effective

biggest advantage will be the use of tucanos in COIN ops from unprepared fields with zero maintenance facilities with minimal costs.

it will basically be an army asset managed by the air force . on call 24 hr from FOBs directed by army FCO (fire control officers) something which cannot be done with fighter jets without the penalty of huge financial/asset infusion. a quick response force to be precise which can be redirected within minutes of finishing the previous missions.

BH will completely loose control to dominate the ground but pockets of them will exist inside and outside nigeria, engaging in hit and run tactics , so only way these can be interdicted will be through these tucanos , also helicopters r heavy on maintenance and take time to reach their area of ops in time.

the recent failures in niger where army FOBs got wiped out , could have been saved if tucanos have been pressed in to service as a QRCF asset.
