As for city they didn't turn up today. I didn't see anything close to the usual Pep style. I like to believe we neutralised that lol.

This should be the boost we need but I hope Mourinho realises Carrick need to start every league match till we get a replacement. Hererra is more useful as a b2b than Pogba. I just hope Pogba gets his identity soon.

Pogba still looked like a donkey and even though Shaw improved a bit in the second half, he was still average. Herrera, Carrick, Mata, Rojo all looked solid and Zlatan improved in the 2nd half. Rashford needs to be played as a striker, he's no winger.

I was impressed with City kids though, especially Garcia. I can't believe I was warming up to that Sane lad, he's an horrible player. Lol!

Ibra shouldn't be use as a lone striker anymore.. Rashford or Martial should partner him.

He's also a box-box CM, quite similar to Vidal.
Furthermore, he's just signed a new contract.
What we need in the team is just simple.
A playmaker, holding midfielder and a right winger.
Personally, I think Kante would be a better signing than Matic. So far, he's operated in the holding role fro the french team and has looked great in it. Although, he doesn't have the passing range but his reading of the game, agility, tactical discipline and vision (accurate vertical passing) makes him a good option in the holding midfield role than Matic who look likes an immobile uncreative lump of wood.

My playmaaker option would be Pjanic, Verrati or Torres. As a matter of fact, if we are ready to splash 78mil on a midfielder, we should do that on Verratti and not Pogba because box-box players yapa full everywhere as opposed to orchestrating playmakers.

My wing option would be Sadio Mane for his lightening speed. Mahrez is also a good shout but not as lightening as Mane. I'm not impressed by Sane though. You got to watch his performance against Bayern. He looked so awful with his touches and decision making. He seems to solely rely on his pace which was well matched by Alaba's pace in that match, hence, his pathetic display.

I haven't seen much of Ounas but will try to get acquainted with his clips on Youtube but the talk about him haven't been impressive.
My first option was Dembele who's been snapped up by Dortmund but would settle for Mane.

Pique had Puyol/Mascharano who were no nonsense player to play beside him. City has Kompany but he's a sick note nowadays and he's declining so fast.

People keep talking about Stones' ball skills which I don't see. His composure on the ball under pressure is terrible and he makes as many bad passes as good ones, coupled with the fact that he's a terrible defender. I made a statement at the time we signed Bailly that in as much as I don't know much about him, I'm happy we got him and not stones.

I just don't see what Pep sees in him, same as Sane who's all about pace with average skills. The only good transfer City has made is Gundogan who's becoming sicknote already. Don't know bout the 2 Brazilians 'the Gabriels lads' though.

City started the game better, and if Iheanacho could head well, we should have had a repeat of the Chelsea game where we conceded straight from kick off. Rojo and Blind didn't do well there.

We went into the game later and we were better towards the end of the first half and afterwards.

It was a good game from Blind and Rojo. But I still fear they might collapse if they keep praying matches.

Ibrahimovic and Pogba were poor. Each missing a clear chance, and pace letting them down often.

Overall we played with speed, with Valencia, Rashford, Shaw, Herrera offering pace.

Guardiola has gone 6 games without a win. That is what EPL does to a coach. You soon get tired from playing difficult matches.

The performance in the 2nd half was much better than the shyte we played in the 1st though I think we shoulda dominated that game more, considering the starting lineups of both sides....

I think Rashford should be loaned out or sold (with a buy-back clause inserted into the contract) - we cannot continue to stall his development as a CF by shunting him out wide (even when our main striker clearly needs some time on the bench to sort his his head out).

Our 90m haircut investment was useless in his supposed best position again - he even drifted to the left wing towards the end of the game.

As a CMF, Pogba's tactical and positional indiscipline exposes our midfield. As an AMF, he hasn't been better than Christian Obodo & to worsen matters, an in-form Mata (who should be our main creative outlet) is being played outta position simply because our black white elephant project has to be shoe-horned into the side by fire by force. Pray tell - where exactly would Pogba fit in perfectly other than the bench (if we are to persist with this formation)?

We have really missed Carrick's calmness and composure on the ball - if only Mourihno hadn't frozen him out of the team, he would be much fitter and sharper...

I don dey talk am for a while now - since we dont have the best wingers in the land, Mourihno can go with a Midfield diamond that would accommodate our important players in their respective best positions......
