Mamas how are we doing? Hope we are great? You people should see me see wahala my Consultant Gynecologist was angry with me that I went to do a scan that told me the sex of my baby. He was like he didn't ask me to do any scan, that after the 13wk scan I did the next I was supposed to do is at 36weeks that I shouldn't be surprise if the sex changes. Even my mum that I confided in after I was told the sex was very upset that I went to do a scan to know that if I had told her I wanted to she wouldn't have agreed Imagine! In fact, feel so sad that I told her even wen my DH told me to keep it within us. Now I have stopped tell her things.

Then pls, help my mum said because this baby is her first grandchild she has made a vow to God to have the child dedication in her church may while, my husband and I attends a bible believing church like hers. I told her after our own church dedication I will give her the child to go and dedicate in her own church that we would go.

She also said they must cut the babies hair after 3months cos the hair smells since he came out with the hair from the womb. Also, she said will do incisions on the babies body. I said no that my DH said he does believe in all that. She then said we should be ready to get offended by the things she wants to do. She can say all dis cos DH is very quite and respectful but now DH is not finding any of her ideas funny and he is ready to give the shocker of her life. How u na see my matter. Help me put mouth.

Preg at 33 weeeks

Some pple are adding weight anyhow. I dnt think I have added any weight since this pregnancy o. I was weighing 63 prior to getting pregnant and anytime I go for antenatal my weight has not passed 65kg since a month nw.

You're about to be a parent now. It's better you start being firm about what you will tolerate/ accept or not especially as it affects your child. Thankfully your husband is on the same page with you as per some of the things your mum wants to do. you will insist politely but firmly that the child which belongs* primarily to your husband will not be used for her practices/ heart's desires.

It will cause some strain between you both but it's better in the long run. Except you are keen on what she's suggesting. It's the same her who wants to dedicate in church that wants to put incisions on the child abi? Better open your eyes widely and protect your family properly!!!!!

just calm down and wait a few days after ur missed period before u check. I know d 2ww can seem like forever but it will certainly pass. occupy ur mind and ur time with other things while u wait to do d test. in d meantime, drink a lot of water. it will help with the headache. we await ur testimony

I think u also md d mistake of tellng her d sex of d child. Wen I was pregnent, I dint evn tell my mother until I was arnd 4-5months gone. Not dat shes a bad mother,but its my life. My mother is d best, goodly, godly and loving mother,



Pls dont put sentiments or emotions into dis, bcus she might come up with talks like "im yr mother.... Iu sucked frm my breast...." bla bla bla but I trust that God Almighty will give u and dh wisdom to handle this.

@chanbaby, my hospital dont reveal the sex of the baby, your gynae, is only annoyed because you went to do scan in another hospital. As for your mum, i comment my reserve because when times comes we go know who born pikin. As for cutting a child hair at 3months is a no no for me and incision for this century? What is there to correct please? I can't even understand the consultant's point of view. For all you care it's because some women don't know the sex of thier babies that the babies get swapped at birth or any other odd practice can occur in the hospital! " I'm just saying oh you know this country is filled with all sorts of ish"!

@ chanbaby, I love the fact that your husband is standing his ground. Whose baby is it? Your mum's or your husband's? If you desire peace in your matrimonial home, now is the time to let your mum know exactly what your disposition is. As @babythug said, be polite but firm, tell her it's your baby and you won't release your baby for any incisions. As for the baby dedication, that should be you and your husband's prerogative not anyone else's decision. With parenthood comes a lot of maturity and responsibility and the earlier you state your boundaries as regards external influence, the better.

And for that your doctor, why is he acting like a local champ? You can choose to do your scan in a private lab if you are in doubt about anything. Scan can change sex? Mo tun gbo titun!!! He needs to calm down, he's not the only gynaecologist in the world. There is a scan you ought do between 18-20 weeks called the anomaly scan. Google it up, that's asides growth scans that are sometimes demanded by some obstetricians depending on the situation and progress of your pregnancy. If you aren't satisfied with his services, change doctors please. You deserve the best treatment in your pregnancy and you shouldn't be at any doctor's mercy because of his temper or agenda.

In my opinion ur gynae has no right to be angry that u checked ur baby's sex! It's your baby after all and not his! What's his business? You what to know what you're carrying so he should go and sit his nyansh down and do the job he's been paid to do. Shikena!!!
