forgiveness: Seriously I really don't understand the Reason the Guy is being overlooked. Instead of recalling Enyeama back to the Team, it's far better to try out Aiyenugba. He has the experience we need, and he's ain't a bad Keeper! |

Akpeyi isn't a goal keeper at all. Nigeria might not win if we use that guy! |

TheGoodJoe:You have spoken my mind. You can't fault him just because of one incident we all know is not his fault. It baffles me to see people say some unpleasant thing about enyeama. Come on guys, who can do what he did, 2 days after burying his mother, he arrived camp just to be humiliated. Come on guys he deserve our respect for trying to represent us even during his darkest day. Try to put yourself in his shoe. Ighalo comes to mind. So please show some respect to our legends so that the upcoming ones can sacrifice more. Thank you. 3 Likes 2 Shares |

not holding brief for ezenwa but if he is so rubbish why did atletico sign him then? anyways seems we are in a conundrum about this goalkeeping matter. femi thomas is decent but i've also watched him and he has his flaws. aiyenugba too we forget that it was his soft hands that allowed guinea to score which stopped us from qualifying for the 2012 AFCON. fingers crossed the algerians will probably be too much under pressure to mount any serious attack. forgiveness: |

yeah oliseh didn't handle the matter wisely. not that enyeama is a saint himself but he didn't deserve to be treated that way especially after his meritorious service to the super eagles. oliseh could have held a meeting with him explaining why he would hand over the captaincy to somebody else. i remember sam allardyce did something similar at bolton. he called okocha, explained his reasons for giving nolan the captaincy every settled maturely with respect still being maintained. Hmm, I just dey ghost mode just dey observe... U that are saying they should replace Ikeme with Akpeyi, Ezenwa et al are not looking at the technical aspect of it at all. This is a big and high tempo game, we need the best and highly experienced goal keeper in the person of Enyeama to replace Ikeme, a keeper that will coordinate and shout/speak to the back four when the need arise, a keeper that will not boast the confidence of the opposition. In this type of match,An highly experienced and technical gifted goal keeper is what we need. what happened in alexandria should not repeats itself. Rohr and the NFF should do every position best to bring Enyeama back 3 Likes |

The call for Enyeama is far fetched and totally unrealistic. We must make due of the 3 keepers in camp. And based on my analysis and knowledge about the keepers, Daniel Akpeyi us best suited to start. Alampasu is too young to start in such a crucial game. People comparing him with the AC Milan goalie are doing him no favours. In a high pressure game like this, I wouldn't even consider starting Alampasu because that would be setting him up for failure and probably ruining his development. Imagine if the young man makes an error which leads to a decisive goal, the abuse he would get from 150m Nigerians may just be too much for him to ever come back from. Nigerians can be unforgiven. Aiyegbeni and Keita have yet to be forgiven for their gafe since 2010. Alampasu has a whole career in front of him, I wouldn't want to ruin his confidence for life by suggesting he starts against Algeria. Ikechukwu Ezenwa it's a guy I have watched live for a good number of years. I don't think he is the kind of character I would trust for a high pressure game like this. Funny enough Emmanuel Daniel kept him out for an entire season when he signed with Rangers. Due to lack of game time, he left Rangers for Sunshine, I think. Ezenwa is too erratic to be trusted.. He can be brilliant in a minute, the next he would be totally shocking. Akpeyi is the most suitable for the job. He has not done badly in the games he played. The game against Egypt, he made no gafe. The goal came as a result of a deflection off the foot of Efe Ambrose. In a friendly against South Africa, he made stunning views saves that people nominated him as Enyeama's replacement. Akpeyi is the most trusted of the three in my opinion. 1 Like |

chrisooblog: Ezenwa is a very good and talented goal keeper and this brought out the issue of the "SIGNING" but he lacks the technical and experience aspect of the game. We need an highly experience player to man in between the poles against the Algerians. These North Africa countries are good in crossing and Nod and this is what the Algerians will bank on in Uyo on that day, we will need a keeper that's capable to run and save ball coming from crosses, corner kicks, one who can coordinate the back four very well, those are ones of the aspect Ezenwa lacks. I don't believe much in Akpeyi, No room for risk. |

goldfish80: If Enyeama is not back, Akpeyi will be the better shot. I concur. He looks promising than Ezenwa, he play week in week out in PSL and it seems the south africa league is still on. Ezenwa have not been keeping for couple of months now, they should not risk him. More so, Dele is still learning, he's not needed in this type of crucial match. 1 Like |

for me the bottom line is respect. i have no issues with oliseh wanting to change his captain. he might have felt that since vincent would soon retire he needed a younger and experience player to guide his transitioning team. don't forget this same oliseh came to enyeamas defence during the kaduna venue criticism brouhaha. oliseh's temperate and lack of experience handling players caused him really to mishandle the whole situation with vincent TheGoodJoe: |

chrisooblog: Oliseh has no excuse. If nothing else, Enyeama was a mourning hero. The heart of the team should be with their suffering brother. Oliseh tore the team apart with that option. Not only that, skipping Mikel. It was a wrong decision and we can not hold Enyeama for it. I believe Enyeama will come back. I doubt he is enjoying the show. It was a tough memory but we can not exonerate Oliseh in any way. 2 Likes |

Botttomline is, Enyeama is not returning to the team at least not in this 2016....so please, can we move on to talking about making a Carl Ikeme-free team a fortress? That is the matter at hand, how do we use lemons to make lemonades? All this talk of Enyeama is unnecessary and unrealistic currently |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by tbaba1234: 4:17pm On Nov 03, 2016 |
Rohr already talked to Enyeama and he will return when we qualify. Based on what i have seen of the three keepers, i am more comfortable with Akpeyi. Ezenwa is too susceptible to basic mistakes and Alampasu is a bit of a green horn. Based of just talent, Alampasu but Akpeyi is more experienced. |

Oasis007: It is very obvious that somebody will not benefit from calling Aiyenugba to the National team. They will never consider him or make mention of him to Rohr. As you have rightly said he deserves to be called but I think it is too late. Maybe next time. |

TheGoodJoe: But this is not the kind of game you gamble with an inexperienced and a young player . These Algerians are coming for bloodbath and they will throw everything at us. I won't even consider Alampasu. Akpeyi is my first choice not because he is more talented than Ezenwa but for his experience and confidence. |

safarigirl:True talk my sister coz d guy is not ready for recall due to a reason best know to him.He did not step aside but retired,a very tough decision for him and it w be tough for him to come out of retirement. No option for now than to Psyche d trio(Akpeyi,Ezenwa and Alampasu)up for d crucial match. There is nothing anybody can do about d goalkeeping area for now than to encourage d guys. It w be better for Enyeama and country if he can come out of retirement, with him and Ikeme in camp then w are secured. |

forgiveness: But there was never a time Aiyenugba was rated as a world class goalkeeper. I have always known him as a good penalty stopper, not such a great goalkeeper. He had his chances and fell short,he won't be the first,so let's try some other hands. Ultimately,I want you to erase Aiyenugba from your memory,he will not be called. |

goldfish80: My stance is clear. I believe the training ground is the best place to sort the team. Not history of games. If Alampasu does better in training than the other keepers, then the right thing to do is start him. 1 Like |
