Truth be told, i think Alampasu is better than both Akpeyi and Ezenwa but the experience factor is against him. Akpeyi should start.

This explains my point. Play the better keeper, not an excuse to drop the better keeper. If Alampasu is better, then we need him. There is a better chance with the better player.

Carry them to camp, drill them and select the best talent.

This reminds me of Pellegrini. He kept faith in Bony's experience and left Nacho out for long. Things got bad and Pels kept on waiting for Bony's experience.

When City almost lost the chance to qualify for the Champions League, he chose the better talent and Nacho delivered.

This was not a case of stripping off Enyeama's captain band but during his time of pain.

The pain, stress and hatred got to his head.
Yea i understand d humiliation was too much

So Akpeyi who is a Champions League regular, (LOLS), should easily Outshine Alampasu in camp. If not, what is the need of the Champions League experience?
Akpeyi was Heartland's goalkeeper in the 2009/10 champions league squad that lost in the finals to TP mazembe.
He's a champions league goalkeeper if that's what you mean.
Alampasu should be learning from those in front of him. Guys like Ikeme, Akpeyi and Enyeama are his seniors and should mentor him.

I beg you, Alampasu should look at the likes of Buffon, Cassilas and Manuel Neuer, not Akpeyi.

I repeat, if that Champions League experience is the Baba, then he should easily Outshine Alampasu. If Alampasu Outshines him, then that Champions League experience means nothing.

Peter Rufai with his wealth of experience screwed us in France '98.

But peter Rufai was no longer at his prime by that point. He did not fail you due to nerves. He failed due to diminishing ability.

I remember Ejide's debut for Nigeria, he was 19 then. The guy was shaking like a leaf. It was a friendly game.

Where will Alampasu see buffoon to mentor him? In the Portuguese 4th division?
Akpeyi is his senior the national team and he should learn from those in front of him.

In the 3 games Akpeyi has kept for the SE, which one has he disappointed?

His first cap against South Africa in Johannesburg, he saved a penalty and kept a clean sheet. Winning man of the match....
In Alexandria, he nearly kept a clean sheet if not the deflected goal THE Egyptians scored off Efe Ambrose.
What has Akpeyi done wrong? I don't understand the resentment.

Diminishing What?

Peter Rufai said it was because he was not Psychologically prepared.

Joe Hart that has all the experience is still shaking like an addict. Will you call that one Diminishing.. Em, Em Ability?

pls we are going too far on this issue, whether Akpeyi,Ezenwa or Alampasu, one thing is glaring Algeria must go down.

Apart from Enyeama and Ikeme,do we have any better keeper to call apart from this trio

It seems you did not follow the Olympics preparation. If Akpeyi was such a mentor, Emma Daniel would have sat on the bench to learn. Instead the experience Akpeyi was on the bench.

If Alampasu outshines Akpeyi in camp, then he should look for a better mentor. Not Akpeyi.

The coach released his list already. We expect Ikeme back for the next game. I do not have a pick but I think it is best to let the coaching drills select the keeper for the game.

If Alampasu does better than the others, then we make him the keeper for that day. If another does better, then he keeps.

Emmanuel Daniel was the Olympics goalie from day 1.
At the African U23 championship he was the first choice.

Siasia called Akpeyi in the last minute as a form of insurance, not to displace Emmanuel who have been his first choice for 2years..
Rohr should chain Alampasu to the bench. Its not his time.

So why did the last minute call-up not make Akpeyi become the number one choice? Emma Daniel was the better keeper. If Enyeama showed that camp, Emma Daniel will pull gloves and ask Enyeama if he wants his clothes and boxers.

It is not experience but talent. People mistake it. Talent rules.

And I said Olympics preparation, not qualifiers.

You want Rohr to Chain Alampasu to prevent Alampasu out shining the experience fellas.

you need to be watching this match to understand how correct your statement is. he is literally the only one leading their lines, he is marking alone and playing alone, he has already committed two Roma defenders and one of them came out with a yellow card, the other was lucky not to lose possession in a dangerous area. the boy is good and he has the strength and he can beat his marker unlike Ighalo and Ideye

Akpeyi was atrocious in the only Olympic game he played. In my opinion, Siasia should have used another young keeper like Alampasu for experience sake. That invitation to Akpeyi was wasted.

Had Emma OKala showed up am sure Emmanuel Daniel would have handed the gloves to him.

If Akpeyi is not talented, you think he would have come this far?

What makes you so sure Alampasu will out train Akpeyi? A guy who haven't kept a clean sheet in freaking Portuguese 4th division.
How many games in the Portuguese 4th division have you watched this season?
I've watched some Psl games.

But there was never a time Aiyenugba was rated as a world class goalkeeper. I have always known him as a good penalty stopper, not such a great goalkeeper. He had his chances and fell short,he won't be the first,so let's try some other hands. Ultimately,I want you to erase Aiyenugba from your memory,he will not be called.

How many world class goalkeeper we get?

If he is better than the ones we have, why not?

He is better than Ezenwa and Akpeye combine. Sorry.

Coach will decide, not you. Sorry.

The guy is good. I would be watching the highlights after the game.
In the WYC in Turkey, he was our best player by a country mile. Its quite perplexing Moses Simon, Wilfred Ndidi and some of his mates are regulars with the SE and he's not. Life is not fair indeed.
Over the past 2 seasons, he's been the most consistent Nigerian striker but he gets passed over.
I hope his situation changes soon

It's wrong to single out one player. From Mikel to Ekong.. Everyone had a stinker against a highly motivated Colombia
