– Buhari will thereafter commission several key projects in the state

President Muhammadu Buhari will pay a 2-day official visit to Edo state on Monday, November 7, Vanguard reports.

According to the report, the plan visit will end on Tuesday, November 8, just before Governor Adams Oshiomhole ends his tenure on Saturday, November 12.

In a statement issued by Prof Julius Ihonvbere, the secretary to the Edo state government, the President Buhari will use the occasion of his historic visit to pay a courtesy call on His Royal Majesty, Omo n’Oba n’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, Oba Ewuare II.

The president will thereafter commission several key projects in the state, including the new 5-Star Central Hospital in Benin City; the Upper Siluko Road, the Samuel Ogbemudia College (formerly New Era College, Benin City) as well as the Edo University, Iyamho and the Ugbegun-Ujiogba-Ebudin-Igueben -Ewohinmi road.

It was gathered that the president will also inspect the reclaimed Queen Ede Erosion site, in Benin City.

The statement added: “Party leaders, traditional rulers, religious leaders, public servants, market women, civil society groups, students, youth organisations, Non-Governmental Organisations and the general public are invited to warmly receive the President and join him as he commissions the projects as part of the “Finishing Strong, finishing Well” agenda of Comrade Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole.”

Governor Oshiomhole, who became governor eight years ago, will formally hand over to his successor, Godwin Obaseki on Saturday, November 12.

Speaking about his legacy some weeks ago, Oshiomhole said: “I want to be remembered as a factory worker who worked and laboured as a daily paid worker in the most subordinates post in textile mill.

“Rising to become leader of the textile union and eventually spending eight years as NLC president, then going back home to confront the most feared and vicious godfathers that monopolised Edo state.

“I fought godfathers, which is essential to make way for liberal democracy.”

Buhari’s planned visit to Edo state will be the second in the space of two months as he visited Benin City in September to campaign for APC before the state governorship election.

Buhari has nothing to offer. It is suicidal for any political office holder to associate with a failed president. I can't believe I campaigned for a man with an empty head. I thought since he contested before, he must have a good plan for Nigeria after miserable 16 years of PDP that finally ended with tenure of ineffectual buffon (Jonathan). As we've all seen it, Buhari only wanted to be president just to fulfill his lifelong ambition. This man is more clueless than ineffectual buffon.

That you campaigned for a man whose credentials you weren't even sure about points to your own failure to look in the right direction.

The likes will come in like you want, but at the end of the day, it all amounts to nothing.

Be original.

Don't just pick on people all because you want to appeal to a certain group.

You got it all wrong. I wouldn't mind campaigning for him again if he were to run against ineffectual boffon. He has excelled in the area of curtailing Boko Haram menace which ineffectual buffon couldn't do for three years.

Buhari has failed in most part but has done better than ineffectual buffon in terms of getting the terrorists on the run. If Jonathan was still the president, Boko Haram would have got to the south by now.

We had to let go of Jonathan and gave Buhari a chance. Now is time to try someone else other than Buhari. We have to continue to change leadership till we get it right.

It's not possible for us to get the Mr 'Right' you're craving for. Jonathan was a monument failure who can't point to a single thing he got right during his reign. His administration witnessed the highest level of insecurity, unemployment, corruption and all that which eventually contributed to the recession we are in now.

If Nigerians could still believe Jonathan for almost 4yrs (early 2010 till around late 2013), I don't see why we shouldn't have that same patience for Buhari. When he came in, we were still under Boko Haram's threat but today, many people who were displaced then have all gone back to their villages/town in the Northeast courtesy Buhari's brave decision.

I'm glad you know there are some areas where Jonathan failed woefully and Buhari is trynna correct the past mistakes.

You and I know that the massive looting that took place under Jonathan is 'somewhat' responsible for the problem we are in today. Aside that, when crude oil was being sold for as high as $150 per barrel under the ineffectual buffoon and other occupants before him, they spent the money lavishly not knowing that there were days ahead. Now that oil price has reduced, do we expect Buhari to perform miracles? I don't think so!

To add jara, most people don't even understand this. I was surprised when one of my friends was telling me on whatsapp the other day that Buhari was responsible for the fall in oil price. I asked him how and he told me when Jonathan was there he was 'lucky' because of his name while Buhari is bad luck. I asked him if he expected Nigeria's oil to be sold for $120 while that of Libya, Saudi et al would be sold for $50? He said yes na! The thing must not affect all of us na was what he said. Do you see what ignorance can cause?

How do we justify not naming ministers for six months after coming into office? That is a sign of ineptitude. The man was busy saying ministers do nothing and ministers are "noisemakers". The loans he is trying to get now should have been secured to stimulate the economy within weeks after coming in. The man rejected notion of securing loan but all of a sudden he is ready to take loan.

At the moment, the man is more concerned about getting second term in office than governing. Haven't you seen the drum of re-election drumming up and down? The man's hypocrisy stinks. Don't tell me what is going on in Ondo has nothing to do with Buhari. Presidency hand is written all over the crisis in Ondo with Justice Mbang as henchman. He keeps criticizing PDP but look at how many PDP members he has as part of his kitchen cabinet today. We were promised technocrats as ministers but got the same old people who bankrupted their states one time or another. His political appointments are lopsided in favor of the core North. They are either malam this or Alhaji that in most of the juicy positions.

The ineptitude of his staff is glaring for all to see. From plagiarism to sending incomplete bills to the senate are part of some of blunders from his innercircle. Buhari has nothing to offer jare.....

The list is on and on....

It is not about whinning. My sincere opinion makes me different from you TANOIDS of those days who buried their heads in the sand telling us ineffectual buffon was the best president ever. Whereas, deep down in their minds they knew ineffectual buffon was an incompetent fellow who found himself at the helm of leadership in the most populous black nation. Ineffectual buffon surrendered 24 local government to Boko Haram for God sake. Never in our lives should we have an accidental president again.
