By this time it should be clear that the problems are legion. Hopefully people here won't start witch hunting a single player like they used to witch hunt Rooney. Pogba is one of the problems but he can also be one of the solutions. Whether he is the former or the latter depends on the main problem.....Jose Mourinho. Zlatan is another major problem. If i am to list our problems in order of importance i would go with Mourinho, Zlatan and then Pogba.
But i still support the manager. If he can see the error of his ways and retrace his steps this season is not yet lost.

I agree the pivot needs to be stronger and the obvious choice would be Schneiderlin for Pogba but can you bench a 100M player without causing problem

He could be moved upfront but I think he would struggle in the EPl due to lack of quick or nimble feet unlike in the serie a which allows for much space and time on the ball. As it is, he's looked decent in the CM than whenever he played upfront as a 10 but then, we often look exposed with him in the central midfield.

For those that believe Pogba is the problem.

We have to develop methods that will see us be potent enough in front of goal, whilst not sacrificing creativity.

Still think 4-3-3 will unlock the potentials here.

The problem is he doesn't control the game like quality playmakers do nor have the engine/beast mode to operate as a box-box CM. His idea of creativity with constant chipped passes irritates me at times because he doesn't know when to stop even when he sees that it's not working.

At that amount Pogba should be bossing the midfield for United!
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc2: 8:52pm On Nov 05, 2016
I don't want to pile it on our dabbing player but his limitations which some of us knew about are just coming to the fore now.
Pogba does not have the positional discipline or composure of a carrick or busquets to play the holding role
He does not have trickery or inventiveness of mata, ozil, Silva or iniesta to play the 10
He lacks the work rate, team ethic and stamina of a Vidal or Essien to be truly box 2 box.
Pogba is like Orogbo, what is his benefit?

I once asked here what's his real position? Where can we play him that will make him have good games consecutively? I then realised we need someone like Vidal beside him to unleash his true potential. A very hardworking and technically gifted midfielder. This means we definitely going to spend some huge amounts soon again. Read somewhere Mourinho is considering buy a $60mil defender. Like that will solve anything. Our midfield has been the problem for years now since Scholes left. He even had to come out of retirement for us once. This is really worrisome.

David Moyes believes Jose Mourinho’s current struggle at Manchester United puts into context his own 11-month spell at Old Trafford.

Moyes remarkably has the best record of all 3 managers, losing just 19% of his 52 games, while Mourinho has the worst record having lost five of his 17 games in charge (29%) with Van Gaal losing 23% of his 103 matches.

And Moyes says that the problems encountered by Van Gaal and now Mourinho provides some context on his own brief reign.

“I’m glad you’re saying that, because I’ve always felt that. It does show that maybe it wasn’t just down to David Moyes.

“I’ve always felt that and that it would take time, but that’s football.

“If you don’t mind I don’t want to get too in deep with Manchester United, because I don’t really want to get involved where I say this or that about Manchester United.

“Part of the journey a football manager is that you have to have bad times, as well as good times.

“Jose’s a top manager, as was Van Gaal, but it’s difficult for whoever goes there.

“Manchester United need stability, and it’s a football club that has always trusted itself, trusted its managers, believed in their managers, and certainly given their managers time to do the right job.

“I had my time there, and it’s passed on to somebody else. But it’s still a great job.”

i agree with your summation, but we bought pogba for 89m pounds and have seen his limitations, atleast we the fans think we have seen it (only God knows what the coach has seen or is seeing)lets agree he needs a player like vidal and maybe pirlo to allow him function at his best are we saying we cant find a solution with the players we have to achieve this and who will those players be, because we have to wait till january to buy, and thats if those kinda players are available.

do we have a strong player like vidal, carrick can be substituted for pirlo in our midfield.

what am just saying is, assumming we have correctly diagnosed the problem with our 89m dabber, isnt there any player/players to use to atleast manage the situation.

what position is dabber even good at sef? in juve i cudda sworn he sorta interchanged with vidal in MF while pirlo was at the base. i didnt really watch a lot of there games so i might be wrong.

lets no forget that we also have a problem with the supposed god of manchester, if we manage to address the midfield problems and still cant stick the ball in the net na back to square one.

the problems plenty!

Jose said sometime ago that he invites SAF to training sessions, whether they are honored or not I'm not privy to such info; but it's not far off to assume an advice or two pass lips to ears from time to time. We have also heard Scholes offer his bit, which is actually different from his attacks on LvG as per pedestrian play. What these show is there's a degree of faith in this man & he's going to get enough rope.

For me I don't see a problem with the players. Zlatan has been disappointing in front of goal lately, his contribution aside that is not in question. Unfortunately that's where we need his services more. Managing his game time should be a no-brainer. He stresses Carrick's age & want to play someone else of similar age to death? If he can't have faith in a sharp lad like Rashford, it's a fücking shame.

Jose has the players bros, forget anything said to the contrary. I can't even begin to imagine SAF had this collection & not grab three titles in a row. After December game rush sha I'll really know if Jose still got it.

Jose isn't the first choice of many Utd fans and the way we don play so far won't win him any new fans.
even loyalist don't have enough material to fight on his behalf.
you can't tell me you are not scared with the way he ended things with Chelsea and how we've performed so far. na mostly the same players they Nyash everton as we dey talk so.
From what I've seen in this thread, most fans hate him because he wasn't their first choice.
Klopp almost relegated Dortmund, but nobody suggested he was finished.
He didn't even start his Liverpool career spectacularly.

Now isn't it hypocritical that many fans here suggest we should have gone for klopp, while citing Mourinho's catastrophic end to his Chelsea career as reason he wasn't fit for the job.

Ironically, both had the same horrible end in their former jobs.

Fans are ridiculous!

like I have said here, before you buy a player you should have mapped out a system that you believe he's gonna fit.
There's no problem with his play. He was doing same way when he got into team of season even in UCL. Emphasis should have been how to develop him, not this basic wänking.
Besides this guy is 23, will be here for many years of course. You better get used.

His problem isn't entirely due to the system. He can't be used in the same way he got deployed at Juve last season because the EPl is too fast paced for his long dragging legs in the position.

As a matter of fact, he's been more comfortable in the 2-man central midfield but sadly, we've been exposed as a result. Even his best display which was in the Southampton game was a match where the Saints had several chances through the middle and could have scored if they still had Mane/Pelle or even had the new Austin at the time.

Also, he's quite inconsistent, positionally less disciplined and lazy but at least, his central midfield display is still far better than the rubbish he constantly put up in the attcking midfield role..

There's no point hammering the Pogba nail...A rich club like Man Utd had access to some of the best scouts...if anyone is to blame, it's either the scout or if mourinho overrode their decision then blame the manGer...even Ed Woodward should be blamed because I believe pogba is a cashcow.

It's time to blame the scouts, infact, blame the glazers, the lockeroom cleaners, the bus drivers, groundsmen...Anybody but Pogba...The pogba blame is getting stale.
