We should learn to aim high. The strength of any Naval force lies in aircraft carriers with all bells and whistles, far out at sea. Not small ships with limited abilities.

Bought and paid for with tax payers money.

I don't give credits like this to the government. I only praise them for doing what's necessary.
Still saying the same thing, that administration did what's "necessary" in that regard.........

This ship was paid by GEJ and Dasuki, the first was delivered last year or last two year, the second is this one that just arrived and the third is expected by December or early next year...they also paid for a submarine that PEJ flagged off in China before its construction as customary to sailors tradition.

Junk journalism celebrated by fellow crack heads. what is the class of vessel? What are the armaments? How does it compete in the African Naval waters and elsewhere?

Lol

But take for example, you live in a neighbourhood filled with thieves and bad elements. Your house has no gate and is at a risk of visitation by those criminal elements, and you have small money to buy food at home. Will you only buy food to keep at home forgetting that when you buy the food, those criminal elements will come to our house to rob you and therefore prevent you from enjoying your small food?

Without security, you will soon be a goner.

The Nigerian Navy Ship UNITY, the latest acquisition constructed by the China Shipbuilding and Offshore International Limited (CSOIL) has arrived Lagos Nigeria. The ship which departed China on 15 September 2016 berthed at the Nigerian Naval Dockyard Jetty yesterday 4th November 2016 at about 2:10 pm. She was escorted into harbour by two locally constructed Seaward Defence Boats (SDBs) NNS ANDONI and NNS KARADUWA as well as TUG CDR UGWU.

It may be recalled that NNS CENTENARY, a sister ship of the same class was the first to be constructed by CSOIL. NNS UNITY being the second is built for high endurance capability at sea which makes her an ideal platform for naval operations.

On hand to receive her was the Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas, officials of the Chinese Embassy in Lagos, representative of CSOIL in Nigeria, Mr Dapo Oguntayo and former Chiefs of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Micheal Adelanwa (rtd), Vice Admiral Victor Ombu (rtd) and Vice Admiral Dele Ezeoba (rtd). Other dignitaries that graced the reception ceremony include the past Chief of the General Staff, Commodore Ebitu Ukiwe (rtd), General Officer Commanding 81 Division Nigerian Army, Flag Officers Commanding Western Naval Command and Naval Training Command, senior military officers as well as officials of security agencies.

NNS UNITY, while on her homeward voyage, paid port calls at the ports of five countries in Asia and Africa namely Port of Klang in Malaysia, Port of Colombo in Sri Lanka, Port Lious in Mauritius, Simons Town Port in South Africa and finally Port of Luanda in Angola.

This administration met no money at govt coffers, yet they keep spending excess money to acquire military/naval warfare hardware to fight the Niger-Delta Militants, and yet the govt can't provide cheap food, water, low-cost transportation, low-cost electricity, low-cost health services, no technology base etc. If the president lacks school cert is there no graduate among his cabinet or he doesn't listen to them? Are there no psychologists, sociologists and economists in this administration? Why is it that each step they take there is no single creativity for the benefit of the masses? I have never visited or read of a country whose leaders carry out their governance at the expence of the masses who have been pressed on the wall and have no one to cry to.

I can bet any person that there is serious lies about the procurement about that war naval ship. I have since convince myself that any thing done or carried out by Buhari and apc cannot be true. When did apc place ordr for this ship that we are not aware because any imvestiment or anything to be procured will even be over heaped by Lai Mohammed not to talk of a heavy ship of that status. It is most likely that the order of that ship may have placed by GEJ. If that ship was procured by Buhari, no body will be allowed to sleep.
In fact, where do Buhari even have such money to procure the ship?

baba get ur facts right before u start ur own lamentations epistle. what do you mean by this government keep spending excess money to acquire military/naval warfare hardware to fight the Niger-Delta Militants. dude this ship was built for nigeria in 2014. biko was buhari the president then? m in no way supporting buhari's government by my response but hate it when people make generalizations without facts.
And by the way, seriously dnt expect anything from the govt, light water etc. their actions both in the past and present shows they lack the capacity to do so as they are in power for their families only
