have you noticed that the SE and SS have been totally ignored in this train thing?
and yet the minister in charge is from SS
That's the same project proposed by Amaechi, approved by PMB but removed by reps through budget padding saga.its unfortunate GEJ did not think of develomental projects such as this for SE and SS.

I take train every time, from IBadan to Abeokuta and most times Lagos.

That train coming from Minna is wack i must confess, only the First class is perfect with A.C in it. Second klass is another thing. The Hausas inside, especially that toilet, they'll defecate and leave it there. Odors! It leaves Minna Monday morning i guess and get to Ibadan on Tuesday evening, that's if it's fast o.

There's another one from Ilorin to Lagos too, that one has no first klass with A.C and limited Hausas in it so it's clean no crowd. That leaves on Wednesdays. (ALL DOWN TRAIN).

(UP TRAINS) mostly Fridays and Sundays.

Train is cool with adventure. 3 Wednesdays ago, the train stopped in the forest in the midnight. Dangerous day of my life grin
Train Ride is cool tho

are you aware of the planned Lagos - Calabar rail that was eventually re-routed to pass through Bayelsa?

I live in Port Harcourt and I know that there's a train that leaves here once every week just like the lag own, and goes through ebonyi, enugu n some other SE states, all the way to the North and stops at Kano. There is still another one that plies Port harcourt to Aba 6 days of every week. So is there another SE and SS y'all are talking about

All you've written above (while true) doesn't change the fact that these trains were implemented during GEJ's era.

Buhari should focus on his deliverables and what we will point to after his tenure is over.
Please stop displaying this ignorance publicly. Trains have been running in Nigeria since independent. I used to board train from Ilorin and Offa to Lagos when we were in secondary schools in 1980s. Its the bad maitenance culture and negligence by previous goverments that grounded the Railway corporation. It was NOT GEJ that implement railway systems in Nigeria please.

I am referring to the trains commissioned by Jonathan. Of course, obviously trains have been running in Nigeria since ages otherwise would the National Railway service exist undecided

If you did and understood geography as a subject while in school, you'd understand that the primary aim of the locomotive tracks been laid at that time was for movement of goods for exportation (agriculture and solid minerals); all past glory...

Lagos having a seaport with tracks running through Ibadan-ilorin, kano, Minna, kaduna, zamfara and Port Harcourt having a seaport with tacks running through Enugu up to benue , jos, bauchi, Maiduguri..

Now, only one Eastern state on that rail track, and that's because the coal gotten from Enugu would be needed for export. If any of the other eastern state where producing or a least adding to the economy as at that time it would have witnessed a rail track in this present day.

Information is Power.

I thought this thread was about a train ride. No matter the topic... some people can't comment without shouting about GEJ/Buhari..... makes me begin to suspect them.... cause I see no reason why a man would always have another man's ehmmm...name in his mouth.
@topic... op why 24 hours? ... is the train that slow?.... many delays?....many stops?...stops for long periods?... and the car looks pretty empty...was it like that throughout the journey?... or you decided to snap when almost empty?... and the seats.... are they clean?... looks like cloth and that can trap a while lot of dirty stuff and get smelly.

It was not done by this government o. GEJ did. I know GEJ also did one from somewhere in the East to PH. A Nairalander rode on it and showed it here about two years ago. Because North is so vast, GEJ thought connecting those long distances was crucial. Just like integrated education up North is critical to fight ignorance, poverty & extremism.

It was meant to be in phases: With Benin-Warri-Asaba-Onitsha also in the next phase. Eventually, it would be connected from Benin to Lagos. By the time GEJ was true, you could connect from the East & SS by train to most cities in the West & North.

It seems that will be ditched that now.

Even if lies are flying in a supersonic jet, the truth will eventually overtake them. So is APC propaganda and efforts by GEJ government.
