Oxtonguy:Misinformation just to mislead the uninformed. What you fail to say is that it has uninterrupted water and power supply only because its an oil island run by international oil companies who set up and run their own independent system to ensure supply for their operations .They know they can't rely on the epileptic public supply systems run by Nigerian authorities. 7 Likes 2 Shares |

highheybee: GDP blah, blah so what? The GDP of Nairobi is also greater than that of countries of Zambia,Senega,Mozambique ,Cameroon etc. The $9600 GDP per capita of Nairobi is also more than double the per capita GDP of Lagos at $3800....but Kenyans are more modest people they don't go rubbing those statistics on the face of Zambians ,Cameroonians or even their far superior per capita GDP per capita on Lagosians. 4 Likes |

The day the entire world converts from oil to electric automobiles will indeed be a sad day for both Nigeria and Saudi Arabia. When that day does arrive and your Nigerian billionaires flee to Europe, I won't laugh, I won't judge. I will try to forget all the egregious things that were said and (stubbornly) help my Bantu brothers. Live by oil exportation, surely be ready to die by oil exportation. our free trade, liberal market system doesn't produce pretty numbers, but it's reliable (: 4 Likes |

highheybee: This is what the media says about Nairobi http://edition.cnn.com/2015/02/10/africa/nairobi-africa-intelligent-city/ Nairobi was the only African city to appear on their shortlist of 21 hubs throughout the world for 2015. Intelligent Community Forum co-founder Robert Bell says: "We see a strong foundation being put into place [in Nairobi]: sensible, pro-growth government policy, a more diversified economy, and an innovation ecosystem of startups, international companies and universities. http://www.standardmedia.co.ke/article/2000189220/nairobi-city-ranked-among-top-20-successful-cities-globally Nairobi has been ranked among the top 20 most successful cities in innovation, liveability and capacity to reinvent itself. According to a report by the City Momentum Index (CMI) complied by a professional services and investment management company (Jones Lang LaSalle), Nairobi has been ranked position 11 among the top 20 cities. London, Silicon Valley and Dublin were the first three cities with Melbourne, Seoul and Auckland being the last three in the top 20. Intelligent Community Forum co-founder Robert Bell said, in a statement, that Nairobi made it to the list because of its level of innovation. The opening up of communication, especially through the fibre optic cable and a widespread use of mobile money transfer services, especially M-Pesa, were among Nairobi’s strengths in the rating. 4 Likes |

THe oil prices are not likely to rise to rise to the previous levels.......that is why the term "economic diversifiction" has become quite common in such oil exporting nations as Nigeria, Venezuela, Saudi Arabia.
