There is no rule of thumb to feeding a baby...that Mrs D DD took to eating easily doesn't mean her next child will...kids are different...a classic example are my kids...my girl eats any and everything, plus pap, but my boy is different, all he wanted at a point was pap...just serve appropriate foods at the right age and see how it goes...at 6 months you are still in the purée stage...try various purée and see which DS accepts...

I personally detest pap, I vowed to never give my kids pap...but it is what it is...will u watch a child starve all because you don't wanna feed him pap?? All you can do is fortify the pap as much as u can n keep trying to introduce other things. We learn everyday, u can exclude soyabean and add other things...there was a time I was so worried about my boy's feeding, I came on here and cried out, and our dear mamas- AlphaHandmaiden, Helovesme, Onegai and co helped out...it then occurred to me to purée some beans and add it inside the pap- lo, he took it! You can purée apple,kiwi et al, into your pap... So pls just think outside the box, and keep trying different things...pap included if you want to...all the best...Cheers

The result of the test shows he has infection and antibiotics was prescribed for him to be taken for ten days.

My assumption of how he got infected, though I might be wrong but I will share it.

Jejely o On Saturday, I was about climbing a bike to go get some foodstuffs. I carried my baby with me since his father was not around. As I was climbing the bike o, one of our neighbor asked me to bring him so she can back him till I come back. They have been trying to carry him since I gave birth to him but I always avoid that cos they are extremely neat (make I no talk another thing) and all their kids had this cough that refuse to go for a long time. But that day, I was hell in a tight corner, couldn't say no (they are also our church member and she is our home cell minister).

That's how he collected him and I headed straight to the market. I didn't stay long cos my mind was with him. When I came back, and i went there to carrry him, I met him at the of their grandmother sleeping. She said she would bring him when he wakes up, I said Ok thank you ma. Went back home, but just praying that they should not give him anything to eat or drink cos of their extreme neatness.

Only for the woman to bring him after 20mins and told me to teach him how to be taking water from cup, that he gave him water from cup and he doesn't know how to drink it but she helped him. Oh my God, my hubby must not hear this cos he has warned me against it already. I just said thank you ma. And this is the family that when they drink water in d home cell, they will pass the cup of water round and give same cup to any child that cares to drink.

And this is the boy that I don't just give him any water. If its not bottle water, I give him sachet water (boil it myself). Now the water they gave him was all these Meruwa water!!

That's was how vomiting started on sunday night o, terrible one that the father almost cried. I just kept it to myself, took him to the hospital that night.

Never will I try it again whether its d cause or not.
Not that he can't even drink from cup o, but I have seen him in two occasions that my friend wanted to give him the same drink his baby was drinking, but he refused.

Sorry for my long ranting, I just have to let it out cos its really bother my mind.

MIL went to SIL house.
M sista had an interview.
I had to beg BIL to help me with baby.
Measured out all d cereal,taught him how to make them and change diaper.
O boy my heart was in my mouth d whole time.
Funny enough he did a good job.

Pele, the last time I had Apollo was 1993, my younger sis distributed it to the whole family including our newborn baby then. Meeeehn, that thing can be painful, will be as if they pour one bucket of sand in your eyes and it will be scratching.

After morning devotion, we will all line up for injection from my uncle.

I later heard that urine is an antidote but I don't know if its true.

My 3weeks plus old baby has chesty cough. She wasnt coughing but u could hear it in her cry.
Then she couldn't sleep all night n coughed this morning.
I did d sugar n oil remedy and she instantly started sneezing it out so i have been extracting mucor.

By the 3rd dose of d sugar n palm oil, she let out the phlegm like vomit. Very plenty.
Now its stuffed nose
The cough has gone. Or should i say reduced. But her nose.
I cant see mucor but she has difficulty breathing. She is even using her mouth.

No one has cough or cattarh at home... dunno how it came about.
Please help with how i can decongest her nostrils so she can even suck n sleep well.

Can you use a bulb or gentle, very gentle mouth suction? I'm still not sure about Eucalyptus oil used neat.There is a baby balm like Rubb, but it was N1200 months ago, so it has probably gone up in price. I'd be scared of using hot water to steam under a towel. But if you can do a big bucket of very hot water and sit in a small bathroom, seal all exits, the steam should be enough and it won't be too close to her and you can suction easier. Or maybe Saline drops? Try the search, people have described what they used for newborns.

Welldone o jare but as MIL advised make sure her hands are tucked in as well.... that way it is harder for her to wriggle out plus when she starts pulling stuff, make she no go pull hot frying pan/ pot commot cooker....

In addition to this you can try the following.

If you have a hot water shower.... run the shower at the hottest setting to steam up the bathroom. Close the door and sit in the bathroom with her.

You can also some drops of eucalyptus oil in a bucket and place under the shower so the vapours are in the room.

For the saline drops, i found the spray easier to use.

Try elevating her head when sleeping as it helps reduce the congestion but instead of using a pillow, place folded blanket either under the mattress or use a couple of books under the cot legs to elevate the head area.

Place olbas oil on her bib or somewhere that she cab inhale without it touching her skin.

If you have Shea butter apply it on her nose not inside and it will clear and make breathing easy.

I learnt about it here and tried it on me and was amazed at the speed it worked! Ever since its been Shea butter for stuffy nose for my kids.
