REPORT: English Champion Leicester City In Talks With Genk Over Super Eagles Star Wilfred Ndidi According to various news sources in Belgium, Leicester City has identified Nigerian defender cum midfielder Wilfred Ndidi as a long term replacement for N’golo Kante, and have opened talks with Genk over his transfer. A bid of around £25m has been lodged and both teams are reportedly locked in talks over the transfer of the 20 year old, whose goal was voted the best in Belgium top flight league last season. Already a full blown Nigeria international at the age of 20, he has grown in leaps and bounds since he was drafted to central midfield by the coach of Genk last season. His goal against Atheltico Bilbao in the Europa League was rated as one of the best of the rounds, another confirmation of how well he has developed the last few months. Heavily linked with a move to Newcastle in the winter, it appears English champions Leicester City are now inching closer to signing the coveted Nigerian, who turned down a move to German side Hamburg in the summer. Rohr- Enyeama Willing To Discuss Potential Return To The Super Eagles, I Still Need Him According to the coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria Gernot Rohr, former goalkepper and captain of the Nigeria senior national team Vincent Enyeama is so far giving him positive signals during discussions about a possible return to the team. Rohr is keen on having the Lille shot stopper back in the team due to his experience and abilities, even though Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper Carl Ikeme isn’t doing so bad between the sticks for Nigeria. The coach avoided a potential goal keeper crisis before Nigeria’s clash against Algeria in the World Cup 2018 qualifiers when Ikeme pulled out injured few days to the clash. Daniel Akpeyi who was called in as a late minute replacement was between the sticks for Nigeria in their 3-1 win over Algeria, a sign of the lack of trust he has with the goalkeepers at his disposal. ”It’s been positive so far, we are yet to get to a point where he will say yes or no. I need him (Enyeama) in the team. We need his experience alongside Ikeme, then we can have a young talented goalkepper as understudy” Rohr told Owngoalnigeria.com. ”We will meet again in the coming days to talk further, I can’t put a time frame to when talks will take place but it’s very soon. Hopefully it will be positive”. Source: http://owngoalnigeria.com/2016/11/21/rohr-enyeama-willing-to-discuss-potential-return-to-the-super-eagles-i-still-need-him/ 1 Like |

Sir Blueto already dropped the link.... Here's the full gist.... Cc TheGoodJoe (I just want a super balance of the best of the best in terms of Nacho's super talents utilisation... He's beastly as an AM, SS and R/LWF.... He could also play the False 9 but that's in a set-up that allows him to roam and be involved in build-up plays super-consistently and not sit or be isolated as a typical no.9). In all... Nacho for #ManBehindTheStiker aka man-in-the-hole. I just want the best for Nacho.... Our beastly Alien kid and Raumdeuter... Be it AM, SS, RWF, LWF, or lastly, True false 9 (NOT typical 9). I DON'T WANNA SEE NACHO HAVE A "QUIET" GAME IN THE GREEN AND WHITE EVER AGAIN. He's too super to have a "quiet game". He offers much more than High pressings and Movements to confound the opponents. ....................................................................... Man City striker Kelechi Iheanacho is NOT a number nine says former coach Kelechi Iheanacho is competing with Sergio Aguero for the striking role at Manchester Manchester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho will thrive in a supporting role, claims his former Nigeria coach. Danladi Nasidi, who coaches the Nigeria u15 side, worked with the City forward in his youth, and believes his game is not suited to playing as the lead striker. He claims that Iheanacho is best playing off a number nine, but can also play on the left wing or even as a midfielder. And that could be good news for Pep Guardiola, as he tries to fit in an array of attacking talents to be joined by Gabriel Jesus in the New Year. Iheanacho has made 12 appearances under the new manager, but was an unused sub as City won 2-1 at Crystal Palace at the weekend. “Kelechi is not a number nine, he doesn’t like defenders to mark him. He is a supporting striker, sometimes I played him as a winger, from the left," Nasidi told allnigeriasoccer.com. “I also played him in the midfield, he takes shots because he is free in midfield. If you put him as a top striker, he won’t be able to shoot." This will be no secret to City scouts, who watched the Nigerian prospect for four years before finally obtaining his signature. As a teenager, Kelechi came to the UK for a youth tournament and finished as top scorer - but he wasn't the only player to catch the eye of the City representatives. Nasidi added: “Manchester City came for Kelechi Iheanacho in 2010 after he won the top scorer award in a tournament we participated in the United Kingdom. He has been my highest goalscorer since the U13. **Playing off the main striker ooo NOT as the lead striker sef** “About 20 clubs participated in the competition, City wanted to sign most of these players but the NFF refused to reach an agreement. “I have been told two teams are interested in signing Kelechi now. He is doing fine in Man City, I want him to stay and grow with City before moving to another club.” **So the rumours are actually true ** Source: http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/man-city-kelechi-iheanacho-aguero-12206037 1 Like |

Pinnick: I Will Get Chelsea’s Abraham, Liverpool’s Ejaria To Play For Nigeria President of Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju Pinnick, has expressed firm optimism that some young Nigerians who are blazing the trail in the English League, including Chelsea's Tammy Abraham and Liverpool's Ovie Ejaria will play for the Super Eagles at the appropriate time, Completesportsnigeria.com reports. Pinnick told the media in Abuja that it had always been the dream of the present NFF board to build a young Super Eagles team that will go on to conquer the world by 2022, adding that they are monitoring several Nigerian players making waves in the various leagues of Europe "The initial plan was to take our players in the various clubs but now what are trying to do is what we call VIP scouting – talking to these young players that are playing abroad to play for their father land. Tyrone Ebuehi did not say he won't play for Nigeria, but his agent wants him to settle down in his new club first," Pinnick told Competesportsnigeria.com. "If you talk about Tammy Abraham, he is like my son, his father and I grew up in the same neighborhood so when they talk about him, I just laugh because I know what to do. As for Ovie Ejaria, I talk with the father often, he just called me recently. These are people we have met and they are all excited about Nigeria," Pinnick quipped. He continued: " I am yet to see a Nigerian that is regretting being a Nigerian. No Nigerian, even if they have four or five passports, they are always excited being Nigerians. I can assure you that we shall get them to play for us at appropriate time." Tammy Abraham, full name Kevin Oghenetega Tamaraebi Bakumo Abraham is a Chelsea FC player on loan to Bristol and has been capped by England at Under-18 level. He is referred to as an English born. Ovie Ejaria was recently capped by England Under-20 team after playing at the Unde-18 for them. He had also broken into Liverpool's senior team and made his league debut in the 6-1 drubbing of Ighalo's Watford. Man United Legend: Wenger Showed His Weakness By Dropping Iwobi Against Man United Former Manchester United defender Phil Neville has faulted Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger over his decision to leave out 20 year old forward Alex Iwobi in Arsenal’s 1-1 draw against Manchester United at Old Trafford. Arsenal salvaged a point against Manchester United with a late equaliser from their first shot on target, but Neville believed they could have gotten more from the game, if Wenger had stuck with Iwobi in his starting line up. Wenger sacrificed the Nigerian for Aaron Ramsey and Neville believed it’s a sign of weakness on the part of the manager, which had an overall impact on how Arsenal played in the game. ”I believed Manchester United would have set up their team with Iwobi in mind, Wenger lost a trick by dropping him for Aaron Ramsey, Arsenal lacked balance due to Ramsey’s position on the left. Iwobi would have given them balance” He said. ”The axing of Iwobi for Ramsey showed Wenger’s weakness in big games. He went for experience, no doubt but also wanted to contain Manchester United as Ramsey is more defensive minded than Iwobi. Arsenal should be set up to trouble teams and not contain them”. daveP: I don't think going on loan automatically means a retrogression. Harry Kane shows that. More recently, Victor Moses proves that. Players need to be trusted. What if Gabriel Jesus comes and Pep prefers him to our homeboy. It's beginning to dawn on me that sometimes performance is not enough, some coaches just prefer some players. Mourinho exemplifies that succinctly. David Luiz, Lukaku, Bruyne. See how Henrikh Mkhitaryan, a beast, is wasting away under him. Perhaps Pep just doesn't fancy him. We wait and see... 3 Likes |

Barcelona Surgeon Stops Success From Resuming Watford Training, Striker Flies To Spain Again Allnigeriasoccer.com has been informed that injured Watford striker Isaac Success will fly to Barcelona, Spain on Tuesday, November 22. As previously reported, the former Nigeria youth international was supposed to start light training with the Hornets towards the end of last week, but that decision was later reversed by Dr Ramon Cugat and his medical team. After tomorrow’s checkup, Cugat will recommend whether or not Success can resume training with Watford. The Spanish surgeon has treated former and present Barcelona stars Pep Guardiola, Xavi Hernandez, Cesc Fabregas, Andres Iniesta and Carles Puyol in the past, and recently treated Man City pair Kevin de Bruyne and Vincent Kompany after they were sent to his hospital by Guardiola. Isaac Success, 20, has been out of action since October 16, 2016. Source: http://allnigeriasoccer.com/read_news.php?nid=21153 |

TheSuperNerd: I don't know how much stock one can put into these owngoalnigeria.com stories but, if this it true, then it's good news for Nigeria. Wilfred Ndidi is touch notch DM. I was surprise not to see him start ahead of Onazi in the game against Algeria. I think Rohr decided to go with Onazi due to experience but he knows how talented Ndidi is, so don't be surprised if he benches Onazi starting from our next game. Based on what I have seen of him, Ndidi is arguably the best DM we've had in the Super Eagles since the retirement of Sunday Oliseh. Yes, he's that good. Keep an eye on him. I would like to see him, along with Azubike Okechukwu, eventually anchor the Super Eagles midfield in a big tournament. O pari 1 Like |
