To God be the glory, we had a a successful plumbing and plastering exercise. As usual Abdulwastecx and Rotech77 were there for me behind the scene.
Aluminum windows are also ready to be installed.
As part of my plans to do away with PHCN here's my wooden solar carport system which has the capacity to hold 5kw solar panels. It will also serve as car park for my cars.
This economic recession is biting hard. So many finishing works will be postponed till further notice.

Nice one!
Dont worry, you are almost there. God will continue to bless your purse for finishing and completeness.
I was on the lookout for your Car Port with its Solar arrays but did not see anything like that in the pictures.
Did you miss to post it?

Make we see now?

As to your Arrestor, you can run it on the surface wall using plastic to attach it to the wall without any breaking after placing it inside plastic trunking or pipes.
The important thing is for it to be far higher than the highest point in your building and to make proper earthing connection.

Good luck

Please who can point me to that very useful discussion we had about locks on this thread? I didn't bookmark it at that time and 543 pages is just too much to review?

Solar is just the way to go. About 5 months ago, I switched to 100% off grid. I began my off grid life with just 3kw(12 units of 250w poly). The feeling made me struggle get another 1kw. 3 weeks ago I installed 750w out of the new 1kw I bought, the extra power was significant. My daily harvest rose from 12kwh to 16kwh daily. I still have extra 250w lying on the floor due to space constraints. Imagine when I finally move to the new house and unleash the 4kw (to be installed in a 4 by 4 configuration using the classic 150mppt) it's gonna be a whole new experience. This made me make provision for an extra 1kw so that I could easily hit my 5kw target just in case buhari pays. A very good side of the classic is it's ability to self protect anytime you exceed 150V voc which is very unlikely with poly panels.
George _d has been the one inspiring most us I must agree. I had to thank him personally for posting his solar water heater plans. He did it at d right time exactly 24hrs to the E day my plumbing works will commence. I had to restrategize before my plumbers arrived. They even argued that it can't work but I insisted they implement my design.
So hopefully next year God's willing, I'll installe a solar water heater. The cost savings as analysed by George shows that many home owners have been ignorant of this for a long time.
My only regret is not making my tank stand as high as possible. So I will have to get an extra 500litre tank to serve the water heater only. So future home owners should take note, the metal tower tank stand is the best and ensure the 20ft or 6m height as recommended by Abdulwastecx and co.

Thanks for the kind words sir. The whole thing is under construction. Plan to complete it by the end December by His grace. I'll post pictures of the final set up once done.
Kindly post a pic of the type of trunking pipe that can withstand harsh weather.
I equally want to appreciate allcopacetic for his numerous educative posts about Electricals. I missed my chance of purchase of Coleman wires from him. A local dealer dealer offered me a flexible repayment plan in exchange for a professional service though, since it was a win win I took the offer, and the guy supplied several colils of Coleman and thunder arrestor materials for me.
I am saying all this because I gained a lot via this forum so I have to give back. Thank you everyone.

Always a pleasure sir.
Just make sure to ascertain the authenticity and length of said cables.
With the outrageous increase in cable prices at the moment , the market is flooded with all kinds of adulterations, now more than ever

Hello Ogas in the house. Please I need an advise on my roofing project. A site engineer freind of mine introduced me to someone that just changed his long span roofing to step-tiles. The long span is 0.45 and still in good shap (according to my layman's view). This will save me a lot of costs monetary wise. I was made to understand that roofing factories can repair the nail holes and repray it to whatever color I desire and use it for my building and it will look as good as near new. I want to know if this is truly possible and if it's a good idea. The house it was removed from is way bigger than mine and it's most likely to be more than enough. I'm still planning to take my carpenter to see the aluminium sheets but I need professional advise here first. Thanks for your anticipated advise.

I have attached the Aluminium sheets, the building it was removed and the screen-shot of the exact design and patern of a brand new one.

I need this particular door or better in 3ft and 4ft. I paid for these doors over a week ago to be delivered and just been told yesterday that they're no more in stock.

If you have this particular design or door that is not too overly designed or look busy, post it here and we move from there.

Please, don't ask me to call you.

Baaaad idea! Dont try it.

It is called Penny-wise, Pound-foolish.

Just buy your Step-tiles (brand New) and store htm somewhere for now since price seems to be rising on a daily basis, due to our people's excessive GREED.
Save-up and when you have more, buy the wood and then roof your house. Step-by-Step. You will get there.
That will give you rest of mind.

But then, its your house, its your decision at the end of the day.

I am too conversant with rent in that area.

But places like suleja where 2bedroom goes for N250-N300k, kubwa for N800K UPWARD.

land is relatively cheap in suleja... A plot can goes for 1.5m in very good area

all these Abuja property bonanza, it sounds really good but i hope not too good to be true. below is my thinking, if land for kubwa cost 2m or how much you guys have been quoting, who will want to rent and pay 800k ?

Also, how far is Kubwa from central Abuja and is the road good ?

No try am

When they remove the roof, they will not do so gently and these things are fragile, when it starts to bend anyhow and you reuse it, you are in trouble. The roofing nail holes nko ? Also, look at it like this, if your house needs 200 pieces, you might need like 300 - 350 used pieces because not all will be good and they have to mix and match.

Be careful with these respray business, I dont know much about it but when i was looking for roofs aprox 12 months ago, i had a recommendation from someone and then we went there, only to find that the guys stone coated roof was being painted behind the counter. Painting works, but it needs to be done correctly with the correct paint materials, the idea is that it should withstand heat/rain etc.

Guys I find it difficult to believe in 2016, people are talking of land in Kubwa for 2m. As far
Back as 2011. It's had to find a plot on land with good document in kubwa, may be with all those fake area council documents. By the time one do all ratification, ground rent fees, etc alone may be close to 2m. My analysis base on livable area in kubwa. You may be lucky to get land for less then
2m, you may be the only on that will be living there, with no any infrastructure in place.
