Abuleoshi: What does it benefit NCC to direct communications companies to increase their data prices? I just don't understand, hence, my difficulty believing this info. Until it happens, my fingers are crossed. |

Abeg where is the protest taking place,I want to join, but I hope what happened in Edo where the government went to Hire thugs to fight civil society group doesn't happen, cos we seriously need to protest against this, they cant keep making life unbearable for the common man,the government is supposed to make policies in the interest of the masses, but it seems the reverse is the case, the government only now make policies in the interest of the government without thinking about the effect on the masses |

The only reason I can think of is that the government wants to curb public opinion. Especially the opinion of the masses who always talk before they think. The crash of data price have given all manner of people access to the internet to perpetrate and show their foolishness. Since the social media bill was rebuffed by Nigerians, this way is the only way the government can curb the massive senselessness that has taken over social media. 4 Likes 1 Share |

I know prices would change but the reason for it is what I am waiting to hear. I suspected that much when Etisalat adjusted its data prices upwards while the competition was super loading data volume for less money. Right now, the price of Etisalat sim has gone up to between #250/300 from #150, I won't doubt what OP is saying. |

What's app call and Internet calls have taken over voice calls which has reduced the amount that goes to ncc on each minute you last on a voice call. Ncc had to raise their big axe cos they were charging telcos tax based on pay as u call. |

Cletus77: I am a practicing Christian. Deut 30:19 says I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live. You chose buhari and now see the result. Is it God's fault or ur fault? |

Abuleoshi add Ncc and other revelavant twitter handles to your main post. That's is the only way Nigerians can get to Authorities directly. Like one Lai Mohammed FP topic headline, "social media is headache to FG. They are trying to keep Nigerians off social media by taxing data companies (instead of them deactivating aor staying off line, which may be unthinkable to them). Modify your initial post with Ncc's twitter handle (so that everyone reading it will see it because, not everyone reads comments.). I repeat. If you can mention everybody that has commented on this thread, at the bottom of your initial post with NCC twitter handle, you would have really done something |

Abuleoshi:SO ncc IS NOW COLLECTING 5oo naira ON EVERY 500 MB? Why SHOULD ncc GIVE DIRECTIVES TO THE SERVICE PROVIDERS TO INCREASE OR CUT? DID THE SERVICE PROVIDERS COMPLAINED TO THE NCC? OR NCC IS USING THEM TO COLLECT EVIL TAX FROM THE MASSES? Should the government be collecting 100% tax on every 1ooo naira purchase? |
