Kenya has had more than 15 head of states of major countries visit having taken keen interest in the massive influence of a re-emerging Kenyan economy that has provided a billion dollar investment portfolio. China has taken keen interest on massive investment on railway, port & road infrastructure building. Bulgaria has invested on the upcoming Nairobi light rail system. Netherlands has entered the energy sector & electricity production by installing the biggest wind power project in Africa in Turkana. Denmark has also started the biggest installation of a massive solar plant electricity production that will aim to boost the manufacturing sector in Kenya. Israel launched the biggest irrigation scheme in Africa to produce agricultural produce both for local & export consumption. All this investment portfolio shows that Kenya is progressing fast towards a healthy state.

Very true.... most Nigerians believe the bigger the structure or fancy aspects then it is efficient. As we all know Nigeria has one of the worst maintenance culture in Africa, let alone the inefficiency & ineptness of its authorities. Huge airport structures with corrupt immigration staff that manhandle travelers at airport launches doesn't make Nigeria look good in our eyes. Huge bridges but full of toll stations & traffic gridlock means nothing if it doesn't improve mobility within your cities.
The reason why the initial post was put up by an actual Nigerian is reason enough to prove to fellow Nigerians that their country is lagging in many aspects.

grin grin grin, Let us hope things will go well for our brothers in nigeria, they are trying to do things right. at the end they will do it right

just plain facts

All those trash doesn't translate to being a better nation.

Cuba, Libya, Morocco, Uruguay and Malta have better life expectancy than USA but you still find Cuban struggle to go to US. Are they going there to shorten their life? So life expectancy is not it.

Yes, Nigeria have better tourism potential than Kenya but we currently don't have interest doest that mean Kenya is a greater country?

Kenya use Mobile money so? How doest that make them better that those with mobile banking?
Talking about ICT what makes Kenya Better?

Please you guys should just go to bed if you don't have something meaningful to post.

Yes that's good to know and am happy good things are happening in Africa but it's still not enough reason to claim Kenya is better than Nigeria.

It has gotten to the point that Nigerians don't even take note of such things because we know our market on its own is attractive. And a lot of billions dollar investment have been rushing into Nigeria even with recession.

Let me educate you about Nigerians.

Even Nigerian that went to Benin republic and never came back from vacation have their reservations in this debate and that that doesn't automatically translate to Benin republic is better than Nigeria.

Not all Nigerians have been to Lagos and Abuja.

Millions of Nigerians have never left their home state to any major city before traveling out of the country and the impression of such a person will be different from someone who knows in and out of major cities in his country.

Even as we speak, we have Nigerians in Libya and Syria and they have no immediate plan of coming back.

Don't get confused. Am telling you fact. You don't become largest economy without anything. Something must have contributed to the economic growth.

functionality is the key, compare it to a person who has a 2014 g-wagon with faulty ac,sound system, dirty, wobbling, badly dented etc and another 1996 c-class with chilling ac,quality sound system, clean, stable etc, which one would you prefer?

I would prefer the G wagon cause it's just maintenance issue. The rim and tires alone will buy the 1996 c-class. Secondly, it won't cost must to replace speakers and do total body work.

Lastly, if this is your comparison of Nigeria with Kenya I must say you are totally wrong. Kenya has the same problem Nigeria have or even worse in every sector.
So, it should be assumed that your C-class too don't have a speak and dented too.

The current Nigerian economy is run mostly by private sector not the government. Example, Dangote is currently investing over $20 billion dollar worth of investment Adenuga alone ran a submarine cable from Lagos to UK etc.

Dude, Hass tower is actually UNDER construction. Your Abuja tower is simply a proposal more like The One Tower in Nairobi. Many proposed structures actually never get built. I asked for an actual structure under construction. I showed you the foundation excavation of Hass Tower. Please don't just argue for the sake of arguing - there are numerous proposed mega towers in Nairobi but I won't talk about them because they're mere proposals. Again, your proposed structures still is not as tall as Hass towers. See, the first time you gave me Eko Atlantic (no specific building). I told you to give me a specific building since I know the tallest building under construction in Eko is 135m. Now you giving me a proposal that is not under construction.

Can you show me the construction site of that render buddy? I follow structures under construction very well and there's no such tower under construction in Abuja.

The WTC in Abuja at 37 floors may rise to over 100m but they won't even beat the current tallest structures in Nairobi so they don't even prove your point that Nigeria has taller buildings than Kenya. Meanwhile the third picture is a NON EXISTENT building. It was just a proposal on paper and that's all. If we were all to count proposals on papers Nairobi would be having buildings over 500m.

Don't worry I will soon show you the pictures of the foundation under construction.

If Hass tower is more than 308 meters then I know it higher than the one in Abuja but I don't think so. grin

[size=13pt]Kenyans and East Africans in general are naturally very stubborn.
They will not accept they have been disgraced, even when it is obvious.

Considering the level of resources Kenya has, they put up a good fight.
But, i think they should compare themselves with Uganda or Ethiopia. Comparing themselves with Nigeria is truly unbecoming.

I fully respect Kenya's current president for putting Obama in his place. Many ppl may see Kenyatta's rhetoric as defiant, but indirectly Kenyatta stood strong for Black Africa.

AIR TRANSPORT

NIGERIA- Population-173m
Nigeria’s principal airports are Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos and Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja. Three other international airports are Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport in Kano, Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Enugu and Port Harcourt International Airport in Port Harcourt. Overall, Nigeria’s airports, whether international or regional, suffer from a poor reputation for operational efficiency and safety. Private domestic air carriers began to win business at the expense of Nigeria Airways, the former government-owned national airline which was declared bankrupt in 2004. The national flag carrier of Nigeria was Air Nigeria, in which Virgin Atlantic owns 49% and the remaining 51% by Nigerian investors until Virgin withdrew from the partnership on September 18, 2009. The national flag carrier then became Air Nigeria which suspended operations in 2012. Arik Air is now a large airline serving Nigeria and has transported over 10 million passengers.

KENYA- Population-44m
Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi, is Kenya's largest airport and serves the most destinations. Some international flights go to Moi International Airport in Mombasa. Kisumu Airport was upgraded to an international airport in 2011 and a second phase of expansion is under way. In 2012, US Navy Seebees built a major new tarmac runway at Wajir Airport that can take heavy aircraft.
Kenya Airways Ltd., more commonly known as Kenya Airways, is the flag carrier of Kenya.[4] The company was founded in 1977, after the dissolution of East African Airways. The carrier's head office is located in Embakasi, Nairobi,[5] with its hub at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.[6]

The airline was wholly owned by the Government of Kenya until April 1995, and it was privatised in 1996, becoming the first African flag carrier to successfully do so.[7] Kenya Airways is currently a public-private partnership. The largest shareholder is the Government of Kenya (29.8.%), followed by KLM, which has a 26.73% stake in the company. The rest of the shares are held by private owners; shares are traded on the Nairobi Stock Exchange, the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange, and the Uganda Securities Exchange.[7][8]

Kenya Airways is considered one of the leading Sub-Saharan operators;[9] as of January 2013 and was ranked fourth among the top ten African airlines by seat capacity, behind South African Airways, Ethiopian Airlines and EgyptAir.[10] The airline became a full member of SkyTeam in June 2010, and is also a member of the African Airlines Association since 1977.
They have local domestic flights which include Jetlink, Fly540, KQ and Jambo jet.

Conclusions: Kenya has a more vibrant air transport with 1 international carrier and 4 domestic carriers serving a population of 44m. Kenya airspace enjoys different flight carriers from other reputable airlines.
Nigeria lags behind in Air transport
KENYA WINS AGAIN.

Even without any boom we are currently better in Aviation sector. There is nothing special or sweet about all he wrote. The local players in our aviation industry says a lot.
If individuals can start building airport and seaport and we have over 20 domestic airlines am sure the difference is clear.

Yes, Nigeria have better tourism potential than Kenya but we currently don't have interest doest that mean Kenya is a greater country?

You exhibit so much childishness.... I highly doubt your age or you are using a prohibited substance.

Tourism in Kenya is the second largest source of foreign exchange revenue following agriculture. The main tourist attractions are photo safaris through the 19 national parks and game reserves. Other attractions include the mosques at Mombasa; the renowned scenery of the Great Rift Valley; the coffee plantations at Thika; a view of Mt. Kilimanjaro across the border into Tanzania and the beaches along the Indian Ocean.
The revenue earned through tourism and beneficiaries of it constitute to the growth of the GDP in Kenya. How then can you not "care" about exploiting your natural resources to benefit the people in your country. No wonder the biggest Nigerian oil resource is a reserve of foreign multi nationals.
