alBHAGDADI:What difference does it make if a Chrisian is a Northerner or a Southerner? Are Christians from the South more Christian than those from the North Must CAN be the one sponsoring the bill to make it genuine? Is the premier body for Muslims in the country the one behind the Sharia variant of this law or just a lawmaker as in this case? Does that make the bill any less valid? What exactly is your problem? 3 Likes 1 Share |

Corrinthians:My problem is that I don't want a situation where am igbo man in anambra will be dragged to a Sharia court and beheaded in the same anambra, simply because some foolish Christians also asked for a Christian court in Kano. Do you honestly think the illiterate almajiri northern horde will allow justice to prevail if a muslim is tried in a Christian court? We are already witnessing Christian churches getting burnt in the north for worshipping in Fridays. How long do you think it will take before they burn up all the proposed so-called Christian courts and kill the judges? Your problem is that you have deviated from the commands of Christ our saviour and decided to harm yourself thinking you can actually save yourself. |

That is just it, they have not kept their Shjaria to the Muslim dominated North, they keep persecuting Christian girls according to their Sharia Standards. Sharia cannot penetrate the South, particularly, SS/SE that are 99% Christians. It will find it difficult penetrating SW and Middlebelt with Christian Majority due to opposition. Sharia thrives in a Muslim Dominated NW/NE. Let us face it, Nigeria is a country that practice religious laws. Cases will now be heard in both Islamic and Christian Court, particularly cases involving the abduction of Christian girls by Islamic Court.

A Christian Court in Abuja can call for the appearance of a Child or Person held by Muslim Islamic Court. They can now challenge the Jurisdiction of the Islamic Court and even drag the Islamic Court to the Supreme Court. The Emir palace is not the place for conversion of christian girl child to islam, children as young as 12 are raped in the Emir Palace in the name of conversion to Islam. Something seriously need to be done to put an end to it. If this is the solution then i support it. |

OILSOUP: Sound like pedophilia and kidnapping enablers use their religion as excuse to justify their sexual deviance. These same weirdos will lose their minds over gay adults but won't raise voice at those kind of cases. Oh well its just a sick culture. The supreme Court are a bunch f morons for allowing religious courts in secular country. Lol I wonder when the church of Satan will raise up and claim their rights. Maybe the cult gangs should as well. Their arguement would be it's unfair to give the other preferential treatment under law. Every creed will live by their own code. This will get choatic sooner or later. 1 Like |

Corrinthians:Perhaps, you mistook my post for some else's, cos i can't see where I made a hate speech. If you Christ told you to love your neighbor as you love yourself, then why do you support a Christian court where you can drag that your neighbor, when you should have just loved him enough to forgive him? Tell me, will the christian court end Christians to jail? Will that be right? |

Our law makers are self-serving. Of what use is this when several vital bills are still pending consideration at the national assembly. The PIB among many others has been there since the OBJ days. I think they brought this out for lacjk of something worthwhile to do. 1 Like |

Very soon the court will begin to enforce 10 commandments and ancient punishment just like sharia. If you expose your body, modath, you'll be dragged before this court. |

angeltolly: I beg to differ with what you just quoted. We are in a country, where if one as a christian commit an offence in a muslim dominated society, he might likely be judged by their sharia law. The christian court would make it possible for christian to be judged by what is written in the word of God. Secondly, its not just anybody that would be made judge rather people that knows the word of God. Everything about the Christian God is love. We have heard instances of husband divorcing his wife on needless issue, with this court in place, there would be possibility of reconciliation based on what the scriptures teaches. |

This bill is simply unnecessary and will validate any sharia shenanigans that Islamic extremists could try to impose on our dear secular country. Apart from the reasons put forward by several critical thinkers on this thread, has anyone considered the stark contrast between Islamic law and what could be considered Christian law? For example in Islamic law, I'm aware that four witnesses are needed to establish a case of adultery which is not the case with Christian law, and this is one of many disparities that rubbishes the goal of those trying to establish the Christian court in order to checkmate Sharia courts. What are Christian laws by the way? The ten commandments or the laws of the New testament e.g. turn the other cheek/love your neighbor as yourself? You gotta be kidding. The idea of Christian courts makes no sense. We should continue to be administered by secular laws, while we live our personal lives according to our doctrines and we will be judged by the law of Christ on the day of judgement. |
