At least they had the President's ear and considering the raucous being made currently, GEJ would have answered them.

I don't even like the GEJ, I'm sure you think I do, I don't care for either of the two fools, and I told anyone who cared to listen that Buhari would win, but I refuse to just act like it's the same thing because there is a clear difference. GEJ's government intervened lots of times in the crisis and even paid the bonuses countless times, enough proof is abailable to support that, but this government is useless and lackadaisical.

I repeat, there is no football without politics, when you start viewing things from the point of the average man in Nigeria, you will understand.

And what does oil price have to do with anything? Did a fall in oil prices reduce the salary of the National Assembly or stop Bubu from creating useless committees?

Tbaba, you no go understand, so no need

My point is simple. We have been disgraced several times before international tournaments. During the last world cup, the story of our unpaid bonuses was on CNN? One of my colleagues here, asked me about the African country that had bonus issues during the world cup? The shame was that it was Nigeria.

This one too, will be resolved but let us not pretend like it has not happened several times before.

I agree that the Minister at the moment has no clue and that is an indictment on the government but there is no government that has not had similar issues.

Africanfootball.com is your source. I knew u'll start asking for "proof". Go read up the news archives on the falcons issues on africanfootball and many other sites. It's no false news.

In the name of defending dalung you call this false news. Abeg.. E don do.. I'm done. *Smh*

As for your answer, sorry... Not cogent enough. That flight was chartered. And millions was readily put together and spent. So much for the cash-strapped NFF and the minister's words on the Govt not being ready to welcome "champions" as they weren't expecting victory. *smh*

I've had enough of this Dalung/NFF issue. *back to the other side of the coin... The side that truly matters... Our players*

Your news was completely false, i just caught a repeat of Africa Sports On, on supersports. Do u know that Pinnick and Dalung were with the super falcons upon landing? Do u know that paracetamol had a banquet for the team upon landing in Nigeria and it was attended by Dalung and Pinnick? All talk about chartered flight is false i saw with my own eyes Pinnick carrying his own luggage walking with the team at the airport, so there goes ur they left them in Cameroon arguement. Be on the look out they will air it again this weekend.

They were with the team upon landing in Nigeria NOT with the team after the trophy presentation till departure from Cameroun.

That's my point. So pls don't twist things to favor your beloved Dalung. The players made their complaints because they had a hard-time making it home from cameroun. They had to sleep at the airport before departure for Nigeria. Abeg tell me Dalung slept with them too.... smiley

You're trying too hard to defend that man. The truth cannot hide brova. smiley

And yes they were hosted and given about 50,000 or so each by a sponsor who hosted them in lagos. BUT WAS ALL WELL?? NOOOO...

The players played along and decided they will make their stand when they are settled in their hotel. Being hosted by a sponsor is nothing. It hasn't settled what the ladies want. Their pay!

Biko don't bring me back to this issue... Dalung is the biggest mistake in the history of Nigerian sports. A man who is two-faced and cannot hold his tongue or better still cannot find a wise way to communicate his words. Pity...*smh*

If u knew all this then why didn't u say so before? U r making things up as u go my brother, u are the only one twisting things to favour himself. How can u agree they landed together but yet u are making up a story about them being stuck at the airport before take off. If Dalung just ran along and left how do they land at the same time? Did you read my reply at all?? I never said they landed in the same flight... I never said they travelled together. Dalung and co had the chartered flight. The Falcons slept a night at the airport in yaounde before departure.

Also, I said they (the super falcons team) were received at the airport. Dalung didn't travel with the team. Period!

@bolded.... Na so... Something you've been doing since morning. Make I hear word joor. Looll
l

Dalung's words are his doom. Understanding him is very simple. He's careless and unreasonable in thinking and with words. It's a pity he's sports minister really.

P.S: I know these details and many more because I followed almost every update of the Falcons from various news sites like Africanfootball.com, allnigeriasoccer, Owngoalnigeria, theguardian, thepunch.. Etc... I didn't like what I saw and only posted the ones I could on the falcons thread coz I couldn't stand the nonsense brewing anymore. Some of these stories are now deep into those sites' archives.

So if only you had keenly followed the matter like I did, you won't be here telling me what I say is "fake".

Arsenal Loanee Kelechi Nwakali Scores His
First Professional Goal

Nigeria U20 international Kelechi Nwakali scored the first professional goal of his career as MVV Maastricht defeated De Graafschap 2-0 in the Dutch Eerste Divisie on Friday night.

Thomas Verheijdt converted a penalty in the
31st minute to make it 1-0 in favour of the home team, before Nwakali ensured the three points were safe with his maiden goal for MVV in the third minute of stoppage time.

Nwakali has started the last seven matches
contested by Ron Elsen’s side in the league, and
bagged an assist against Fortuna Sittard on
November 18.

The Flying Eagles skipper penned a five-year
contract with Arsenal in August, before he was
farmed out on loan to MVV Maastricht after failing to secure a work permit.

After 18 rounds in the Dutch second-tier, MVV
occupy the third position with 36 points
garnered, two less than VVV Venlo who lead the
way.

Liverpool Star Matip Refuses To Play For
Cameroon Ahead Of WCQ Against Nigeria

Liverpool defender Joel Matip has refused to
return to the Cameroonian national tam ahead of the African Cup of Nations and 2018 World Cup qualifiers against Nigeria.

Cameroon coach Hugo Broos had contacted the
Reds star to change his decision not to play for
the Indomitable Lions but he decided against it,
opting to remain with Liverpool during the African Cup of Nations.

German-born Matip has not defended the colours of Cameroon since 2015 after criticizing the Cameroonian Federation and he was expelled from the team.

The 25-year-old has twenty seven international
caps for the Indomitable Lions and has scored
one goal.

Cameroon will face Zimbabwe in an international friendly at Omnisports Ahmadou Ahidjo stadium in Yaoundé on January 10.

'I'M TREATED LIKE A KING!' - IWOBI LOVING
NIGERIA FAN ADORATION

The Arsenal youngster explains how Super Eagles fans are much louder than Premier League supporters and describes the crazy scenes on his debut

Arsenal forward Alex Iwobi says he's treated "like a king" in Nigeria having pledged his international future to the country.
Iwobi, 20, grew up in England after moving to the country from Lagos, Nigeria, when he was four years old.

Even though he played for England's Under-16s, Under-17s and Under-18s, Iwobi swapped his allegiance to the Super Eagles in 2015 and has gone on to make seven appearances so far.

Iwobi was shocked by his reception when he
arrived to play for Nigeria and says supporters in
the African country are more likely to ask for
football boots and money, rather than
autographs.

"Everyone appreciates you [in Nigeria], you’re
almost like a king!" he told the Guardian .

"When I arrived at the airport I thought, I’ll just
have my earphones in, but everyone was like
‘Iwobi! Iwobi!’ Oh gosh. Hi guys!

"I didn’t know what to expect. It was just mad. I always go with Kelechi Iheanacho. When we go
we get escorted. Because I’m not used to the
Nigerian culture as much as they are, they do
help me with it.

"I can’t really speak the language that well. They help me with the fans. The fans are very different there. They don’t ask me for autographs, they ask for boots, money."

Iwobi described the crazy scenes on his Nigeria
debut and suggested fans in the country of his
birth are much noisier within grounds than their
Premier League counterparts.

“At my debut we played in a stadium that holds
30,000 and there was 60,000 – I don’t
understand how. People were standing on the
floodlights, on the scoreboard," he added. "I was thinking, ‘What? This isn’t even safe!’

"But people there will do anything to watch the
match. Sometimes in a Premier League game the fans are a bit quiet but in Nigeria you just hear trumpets, everything. The atmosphere is so different compared to England.”

Iwobi, who's scored one goal and assisted three in 2016-17, is competing for a place in Arsene
Wenger's starting XI to face Stoke City on
Saturday.

He won't take part in the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations as Nigeria failed to qualify for the
tournament.

Rohr’s best Eagles coach in last 15 years—
Kojo

A former boss of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Kojo Williams insists that Technical Adviser, Gernot Rohr is a class above other coaches, who have handled the Super Eagles in the last 15 years.

Gernot-Rohr

Speaking to Saturday Vanguard Sports, Kojo, who believes Eagles are looking good to qualify for the next FIFA World Cup in Russia, wants the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to keep
Rohr for as long as possible to enable the team
imbibe the new coaching culture that has gotten the team soaring again.

Eagles are the surprise pacesetters of the
proverbial group of death, comprising three
former AFCON winners, Cameroon, Algeria and
Zambia, having won all two of their matches to
scoop maximum six points, four more than their
closest rivals, Cameroon, who they play next
when the the qualification campaign resumes in
August 2017.

An ardent critic of the Eagles before now, Kojo
said he has been impressed with the passing
game, fitness level and tactical display of the
current squad under the direction of Franco-
German coach, Rohr.

Speaking for the first time since Nigeria’s 3-1
victory over Algeria, rated as one of the form
teams in Africa, Kojo attributed the improvement in the Eagles to Rohr, who he dubbed as knowledgeable, intelligent and tactically sound.

According to Kojo, “I see improvement in this
team and it is down to the coach. He has clearly
shown that he knows what he is doing with the
team. He knows what he wants better than
anyone of those coaches I have seen with the
team in the last 15 years. He is better than all of
them and that is the truth”.

Advancing reasons for his view, Kojo said,
“considering where our football was before he was signed, the team have improved in their passing game, they look fitter and purposeful with the ball. They are quite good and the results are there to see.

“Algeria are a technically and tactically good
team, with talented players but the tactics of
Rohr were so good that we contained them. We
would have scored more had we created more
intensity when attacking, an area that he must
work on.

“He is barely about four months on the job, so I
don’t expect a complete side overnight but the
improvements I have seen basically show that the former coaches, local and foreign had no business managing our team. He is better than all of them.

“It is not as if he has the best players in the world but he knows how to use them to achieve his aim. He is tactically sound and I am impressed with what he has done within a short time.

“We are loving the team again. But they have to work harder, but from what he has done in the last few months, it shows that he is working hard on them. He is an intelligent coach. All that we can just hope is that he gets to stay with us for more years, so that his work can truly reflect in this team and our football will be better for it”, added Kojo.

azzin. When we won the AFCON in 2013, did GEJ not give the players National honours and even gave them land in choice parts of Abuja?

If one of those players are in a financial constraint today, a land in Maitama or so will get you a hefty sum running into tens of millions.

The U17 set of Kelechi and xo also got heavy support. When Keshi and the NFF had issues, GEJ and Abdullahi waded in and secured Keshi's job.

Imagine the useless, incompetent NFF threatening to ban players and coaches for daring to fight for their just due, Imagine! Can such rubbish happen under GEJ?

Those girls would have at least gotten $10,000 each and a nice plot of land in some highbrow area if they brought a RECORD 10th AWCON trophy to Nigeria, yet Buhari can't even host them for an hour...okay forget Bihari, can't Aisha herself host them in Aso Rock as a woman?

Haba! These people in power have ridiculed our sports too much. Kuku no kill yourself for Nigeria

Like I said, it's better not to bring in politics but...in this case I won't blame Aisha, I watched one event that she attended a few days ago and she was looking far from okay, infact she was escorted by up to 6 mean looking guys so that she wouldn't say anything about her husband, lol.

Nigeria is not worth dieing for period, especially under this government.

And I ask, what does that prove?? That they were on the same flight with the falcons? So they switched in mid-air from their chartered flight to the falcons' flight?

Hmmm.... E be lyk say you don't understand the game these politicians and administrators play.... Or you don't know how..... *lemme save that sentence* smiley

Anyway, I'm afraid the link I dropped shows that yet again, You are so wrong. smiley

Accept it and move on. Your defence of Dalung have failed woefully. The dude is two-faced and "irritatingly" gullible.

I know i didn't want to get involved but seriously bro, you are backing DALUNG?! As in the same Dalung that we all know is the most incompetent sports minister in the whole world?! So you didn't know that the falcons would win this AWCON? I know i did. So a sports minister that believes that we are just going to the Olympics and world cup to make up the numbers there isn't incompetent?! Oga, I do not know if you a thorough Buhari apologist but seriously i can't even believe you are saying this na

So becos of ur dislike for him u are willing to overlook clear facts? I am not into politics boss at all so fall back with the Buhari apoligist talk. The world cup comment was not so bad it just should not have come from the minister but u can't tell me Nigerians are not hungry or that u know for a fact that the world cup has not been rigged in the past. Everytime someone disagrees on this thread it is straight to personal bashing why na? Why can't we just agree to disagree? Well i know that u guys know i'm right that's wat counts. I had been willing to drop this topic if not for the lies people are spreading, i just can't stand fake news or mischievious understanding of the news.
