Hi Op, please, how long did it take to process the immigration Visa? and did you guys do DNA test to confirm that your mum in the States in your real mum? I heard from someone that they are collecting DNA as means to prove maybe the relationship record is real before issuing the Visa.. |
Re: Yankee: through the eyes of a village boy. by FrankNetter(m): 9:31am On Dec 09, 2016 |
gbaby4live: Nah men. No DNA test needed. Once you have childhood pictures and all, I don't think the test would be necessary. The process was quite lengthy, your petition has to go through different phases with the VISA interview being the final phase. JetLagged? I keep waking up by 1-2am (which coincides with when 9-10am in Nigeria) Right now, Im awake just because of this same reason. I find it hard to go back to sleep when I wake up like this. Thankfully, I came over here with my Ps4 console, I'd just play master league till morning. ============================================================ You think Mtn or etisalat are fast? think again! if you see the download speeds I'm getting over here, you'll cry too bad torrenting is illegal here in the USA, if not, by now i for don empty their data base Ive been checking out a few websites where I can do some proofreading/editing work so I can earn small change (I tried this sometime ago in Nigeria, but with the whole IP changing thingy, I lost my zeal). With the power of a USA IP address, Im willing to have a go at it again. Any ideas? 66 Likes 6 Shares |

Only very few people live in Nigeria willingly. Most of the people here have been thrust here, irreverently, by the vissicitudes of fate. Congratulations FrankNetter. #Following. 38 Likes 1 Share |

Settling in Slowly, my biological clock has normalized. I sleep as at when due and wake up normally. It's been a week (or so) of uninterrupted power supply, uninterrupted internet connection, uninterrupted food and water. One week of feeling relaxed and not getting scared anytime you're in a tricycle (Keke) and an overloaded trailer pulls up beside you; one week of not wondering if your school would lose accreditation when NUC comes knocking; one week of not getting scared that frat boys would come and rob your hostel; one week of not giving a fvck about buhari and his wonderful economic policies, one week of not wondering if things would ever get better. One week of peace! Do I regret leaving nigeria? Not one bit. My friends keep asking me why I left my professional course of study to start afresh in the USA. I just laugh and shake my head... If only they knew... =========================== Weather forecast has it that there would be a blizzard (Snow White) coming soon. So we went grocery shopping today and stocked the freezers -at least we aren't bothered about nepa or about buying petrol for the generator set. stew cooking in progress 103 Likes 6 Shares

Nice move Frank. Congrats! It's a different ballgame living in a western world most esp the US or UK in terms of food, weather, advancement in technology, lifestyle etc. Seems you were studying medicine before migrating. However, you dont really need to pursue a career in the medical field in the States to make good money unless you have a passion for it. I would suggest you delve into computer science or information systems and you will never regret you did, since you already have a penchant for computers. Once you get your SSN, DL and GC you are then "ripe" for the job market lol. Please dont be so excited in getting a job and then grab just any kinda job you find. Some jobs may not be worth doing.. lol. Although, you have to start from somewhere. God bless your hustle! Please do go back to school asap. That would put you at great advantage in the US. Also, the friends you keep would either make or mal you. #Shalom. 92 Likes 10 Shares |
