What I saw in that video isn't bravery. If you will be sincere, it is pure frustration! That guy is frustrated... And he is towing a part devoid of intellectual soundness... Diplomacy is a key word among we Ijebus, it involves alot of things ranging from deceit to ego massaging. If the yoruba tribe are the ones clamouring for biafra, we would have gotten it without blood or noise. That is diplomacy. Ndigbos shd ask how Azikiwe of Africa did it... Those guys don't make noise. Kanu isn't even half intelligent and trained as Odimegwu Ojukwu. Just as Zik wasn't proud of Ojukwu's tactics, ojwuku wouldn't be proud of Kanu's. He is a noise maker. Only an intellectual and industrial empowerment can free a region (ever wonder why Awolowo started free education here or why many research centres were founded in Ibadan?).... #I am IJEBU #I am YORUBA #I am a NIGERIAN #I AM A CHRISTIAN 6 Likes 3 Shares |

At a stormy court session on Tuesday, Mr. Kanu said the president can intimidate court judges, but not him. “The president can intimidate the judges, but he cannot do that to me. Tell him he has lied,” said Mr. Kanu. A Federal High Court in Abuja ruled on Tuesday on an application seeking the protection of witnesses in the ongoing trial of Mr. Kanu, and three others, David Nwawuisi, Benjamin Madubugwu and Chidiebere Onwudiwe, who are facing trial for alleged treasonable felony. They were arraigned before Justice Binta Nyako after the first defendant said he had no confidence in the former judge, John Tsoho. The court had adjourned the application for protection of witnesses to December 13. Delivering the ruling, Mrs. Binta said the court would allow the witnesses some degree of protection. “The counsels and the defendants will see the witnesses. The witnesses will have special entrances to and outside the court,” the judge said. Mr. Kanu’s lawyer, Chux Muoma, warned his client to allow the counsel he employed to do his job without undue interference in court. “Sit down! I am your counsel let me talk. I have not come all the way here to allow you speak for me in court,” said Mr. Muoma. This Kanu guy just sentenced himself to life imprisonment. 3 Likes 1 Share |

haywire07: I'm assuming that you're an advocate for 'One Nigeria' so I have to ask you and anyone else who shares your stance: why should we stay in One Nigeria? What are the benefits of staying in Nigeria that cannot be garnered elsewhere? I'm not referring in to Biafra btw, just Nigeria. I'd really like to know your answer to these two questions. |

If seems that Kanu is cracking mentally under pressure of interminable incarceration. He is discombobulating mentally before our eyes. I think the government should reduce his food rations to calm him down so he does not come to court to bark like a rabid dog |

He would have allowed his lawyer chux muoma to speak no matter what.. If there is no progress then move to the next level. Not making noise in court causing commotion. 2 Likes |

Ngozi123:I'm an advocate of "one Nigeria" even in the face of what many see as "tribalistic injustice" .But in the real sense ,its purely a blessing in disguise to every Nigerian tribe. Have we ever thought about the cost of "survival" of each seceeding faction? The truth is the Nigeria that exists today continues to stand only by the virtue of the contribution from each geopolitical zone - in terms of food, oil, leadership, market and investment. Since we all know that no zone has all these features at a time, hence, the need to continue to depend on each other as one nation for the main purpose of growth and development. Take the Old Sudan for example, south Sudan had all the oil to stand on their own , but barely a year after seceeding the tussle for leadership began. Lives were wasted. This is no era of Moses leading the Israelites out of Egypt for over 430years, this is a century where all the rich cabbals wants to be in the position of power to acquire more power. What are the benefits of staying in Nigeria that cannot be garnered elsewhere? This is our home!! Why don't we use our collective resources to build ourselves a more powerful Rome instead of building independent huts that won't stand the test of time? NewYork city is or almost as big as the entire Nigeria but they have stood together with 49 states to make the World power. That is an example of one Nation . What is the size of Nigeria, how much power do we have collectively even in Africa alone that we have started thinking of sharing it? PS: Ojukwu said 'I Ied proudly the first, I don’t think a second one is necessary, otherwise the dead would have been to no avail, it would all have been in vain,” He is telling us that his point had been made , we need no one to remind us again . 2 Likes |

Ngozi123:You do not have to stay in Nigeria but you cannot take people for fools . You have elected representatives. You have Houses of Assembly, Senators ,Members of the House of Representatives were they imposed on you? Are they all cowards? How come your Houses of Assembly have not passed a single resolution calling for Biafra. How come none on Your senators has done so? Your candidate lost in 2015 get over it. Who is Nnamdi Kanu? Is he a senator? What legitimacy does he have? He is calling for killing of Yorubas and so on and should face the consequences. If your people genuinely do not want to be in Nigeria tell your state houses of Assembly all 5 of them to call for a referendum . Ask your senators to do so in the senate That is the lawful way to go about it not calling for killings because an election was lost and won. Form a party dedicated to that objective and support it. That is the peaceful way. Not to start a radio station spewing hate and abuse and threats In fact you will get more international support when you can demonstrate that you have taken legitimate, lawful peaceful and democratic steps to achieve your aims. No one will stop you leaving Nigeria but you must do so lawfully Nnamdi Kanu is an usurper with no mandate and no legitimacy. The only legitimacy he can claim is that of force of arms which he does not have and which shows him to be an empty opportunist. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Thanks for the response. haywire07: Tbf, I've only really considered the outcome for my people, the Igbos. I certainly believe that we can succeed on our own and build our economy mostly using human capital. We have the intelligence and ingenuity to progress in the technology and engineering industries. As for the other regions, it's pretty obvious that Nigeria has been (barely) surviving on the oil that is generated from the Niger Delta, hence the recent recession coming at a time when oil prices are at an all time low. It's clear that one region is contributing the majority of the country's wealth. I wanted to you explain to me the benefits of staying in Nigeria, not the potential disadvantages of seceding. I asked this as many people's reasons for wanting a united Nigeria is because of 'the fear of the unknown'. What are the benefits of staying in Nigeria that cannot be garnered elsewhere? We've had 50+ years to "build ourselves a more powerful Rome", as you put it, what exactly is different now? If anything the country is becoming more violent, less tolerant and even more volatile. What evidence is there to suggest that things are more likely to improve than not in the near future? Your comparison with New York makes very little sense to me. For starters, the US is an immigrant nation and New York, even more so. Nigeria is country where most people still have a spiritual connection to their land. New York is a city and not a 'nation', unlike the Igbo, Yoruba and Hausa nations. A better comparison would be the people of Lagos choosing to secede on their own but even that's a bit of a stretch. PS: Ojukwu said 'I Ied proudly the first, I don’t think a second one is necessary, otherwise the dead would have been to no avail, it would all have been in vain,” You must take into account where Ojukwu said this i.e. in the public or private domain. He may have wanted to quell some of the anger that was brimming in some of our youths in order to stop them from doing something they may regret. The phrase "otherwise the dead would have been to no avail" suggests that he's warning them to not do something that would see them killed needlessly. If you want independence then you be clever and patient about it. |

omonnakoda: I only ever saw GEJ as the 'lesser of two evils'. He was never my candidate. You and I both know that it will never be allowed into senate. Haven't you been listening to your President? Anyone who speaks out in favour of secession will be squashed. Besides, why would people- the Igbo senators- who've largely benefited from the current system want to leave their comfy positions in favour of an uncertain one in an Independent Igbo state. There's no guarantee that they'll have the same status in the new country so why would they take that risk? The movement for independence is one for the masses and not the elite. We live in a lawless country so trying to do anything through the judiciary or the executive i.e. those who enable this lawlessness, will be futile. Again, I know that you already know this as this is your country, is it not? |

Ngozi123:I do not believe in empty talk it is either you vote in people like Nnamdi or you go to war, again. You are not the only ones that want to leave Nigeria. Others work on a long term plan that is more sensible and pragmatic whilst you are always emotional with little capacity for strategic thinking. Nnamdi kanu' effort will fizzle out because it does not have the correct foundation. There is no plan and it is clouded by hate. How does preaching hate against the Yoruba help the Biafra effort. I am not saying love the Yoruba or stop hating them. But there is a time and place for everything. He has shown himself to be temperamental with poor self control, I am sorry but you have to continue searching for your Moses. I regret that he is being jailed because one day he will be released and become important but for what What has he done besides rant and rave Ask yourselves honestly ,why did he come to Nigeria? The man is a foolish man. Once again strategic thinkers must be capable of critical unemotional analysis of reality. Nnamdi Kanu is a fantasist 1 Like 1 Share |

omonnakoda: Why do you keep referring to Nnamdi Kanu? He is one of many and his group are not the only Igbo independence movement out there- that's all I will say on the matter. You act like the whole independence movement was started by Kanu and his group and thus must be viewed through the lenses of that group. It's very strange... |

omonnakoda: My first quote wasn't actually about Nnamdi Kanu; I only posted in this thread because I was interested in what someone said, which had very little to do with Nnamdi Kanu as well. The person who I was conversing with read my post and saw no need to mention Kanu so much so why did you? You didn't need to quote me if that's all you were going to talk about. Btw, I don't need to create a new thread as I was just having a conversation with one poster about something that is related to the thread. Like I said, you didn't need to quote me. |

omonnakoda: You haven't actually answered any of my points in any way. In my first post I asked why we should stay in 'One Nigeria' and what are the benefits of remaining in Nigeria that cannot be garnered elsewhere. The person I replied answered my questions properly whereas you just went of on a tangent, talking about how the Igbos should go through the senate if they want to leave etc. I decided to entertain you, despite the fact that what you wrote had little to do with my post, by informing you that the pro-independence campaigners cannot directly go through Nigeria's judiciary or executive to gain independence as it is a lawless country. You then went on a tangent, again, by talking about Nnamdi Kanu non-stop. Do you now see how your replies had little to do with what I wrote? I've highlighted what I said and what you said. |

Ngozi123:I think you need to stop going off at a tangent and stop asking about the benefits of fuel injection over a carburetor. This thread is about Nnamdi Kanu's deteriorating mental health.
