africaken254: It is almost impossible for Nigeria to stop Boko Haram from going across the border. As the communities in that region, on the border, are one and the same. We also have to deal with the porosity of the borders. Building a fence isn't feasible in my opinion. A heavily armed border guard, and in huge numbers is would be the best solution to contain the scrounge. |

Henry240:boko haram and alshabaab are a snake with several head, you chop one another emerges.there is need for greater cooperation between states which are threaten by boko haram especially militarily. boko haram will seek the weak among those fighting them to re-arm.if there is something that has continued to undermine the security of most african states, its there porous and unprotected borders |

Henry240:there are radars which can detect a human more than 30Km and vehicles more than 100Km,technology is there for your invisible fence/wall (day light and thermal cameras that can see several hundred kilometers, buried ground sensors e.t.c) also an actual fence may be helpful,if someone breach your fence.it can indicate a threat is within your area.every day a patrol team will sent to inspect if your fence has being breached

Henry240: I made this comment on the 3rd of december. My Navy source was right on the money. I followed the Karaduwa project right from inception to today, commissioning into fleet. NNS Karaduwa clearly represents my highlight of this years military activity. With official commissioning of NNS Karaduwa, Nigeria has shown she is significantly self sufficient in building vessels which are 60 meters in length and below. We can now look to adding more vessels of this size to our fleet, while we look at exporting to draw in income. There is significant market for exports, we can and shall make money. The Navy has now gone ahead with building a larger vessel, hopefully we don't have to wait long to see her completed unlike the Andoni or Karaduwa. In 3 years time, we could be looking at building Corvette sized ships 65 meters and above. With the commissioning of additional 27 Epenal 8.5 meters boats, we have totally eliminated the need to import Inshore Patrol Crafts, unlike in 2006 when 500 IPCs were procured from foreign vendors. Progress!! Onward Together! 1 Like |

jln115: Doesn't everyone need a wall... If I had to literally pay money to make a potion that borders Mozambique, I'll literally do it. Mpumalanga Lowveld is literally flooded with Mozambican and Swazi illegals. In fact if we can do deportation the local population would drop by a handful millions and spare the land from never ending township sprawls (and illegal land occupation). If I had to become the South African president, I'll literally make border security with Mozambique and Zimbabwe the biggest priority... The ANC is just too cheesy with illegals. 4 Likes |
