lionel4power: What you did is nothing short of perfect. I'm immensely proud to have provided most of the content used in the material. It was painstaking, but all worth it. Could you also add this photo to the page? An honorable mention of the 50 meters Seaward defence boat III which is currently under construction would be nice. 1 Like

Algerian Navy set to trial Umkhonto Block 2 The Algerian Navy intends to conduct a live-fire exercise with the Denel Dynamics Umkhonto infrared (IR)-homing surface-to-air missile (SAM) early in 2017 . The missile was ordered in 2012 as part of the combat system of the two Meko A200 frigates built for the Algerian Navy, with each ship fitted with a 32-cell vertical launch system for the Umkhonto. Denel Dynamics expects to complete deliveries of 100 Umkhonto Block 2 missiles by the end of January 2017 . source : janes 1 Like

africaken254: Photos you posted containing the subs operational propellers Supposed to be a big no no in the submarine world... Having people take photos of the props If you see pictures of Subs in dry dock they usually have "normal" propellers which are switched out under great secrecy right before the are put back in the water 2 Likes |

Patchesagain:with today's corporate espionage,i doubt they can keep it a secret for long or may be if you want a much stealther prop you need to pay extra.so the egyptian opted for just a regular prop. don't the egyptian subs have Air-independent propulsion (AIP) ? i hear this tech makes sub's completely stealth |

kikuyu1: 61mech: @61Mech, @kikuyu1, @Mikeczar and everyone else interested in such questions: Following on from the above on the place of the Y2 grenade launcher in a section. Denel PMP's 20x40mm cartridge with its varied projectiles (API, HE, SAPHEI/T and PRAC/T) has already spawned 3 different weapons systems: the Inkunzi Strike, Truvelo 20x40mm CMS(a new compact anti-materiel rifle specifically for the 20x42mm, based on the existing large-calibre CMS) and the Inkunzi PAW A2.(pics attached). Now, the former 2 weapons' role is self-evident. But what of the iNkunzi personal area weapon (in earlier versions known as the Neopup PAW)? Is it a section or platoon or company weapon? With the flat trajectory of the 20x42mm suppossedly superseding the 40mm currently employed in the Y2, will it be the grenadier's standard weapon? And so on and so forth... Or is it, as my colleague at Doctrine Dev. says, "a weapon looking for a role?" A formulation with which I disagree, by the way. Sometimes doctrine has to follow/adapt to accommodate weapons systems which are out there. The needs and experiences of soldiers out in the field have been known to presage the adoption of weapons and systems not currently covered by existing doctrine and TTPs. An aside: I like the response of the Denel PMP guy when we asked about the name evolution from Neopup to Inkunzi PAW. "For a devastating weapon, Neo(new)pup v.s. inkunzi(bull) PAw. Which one denotes serious bad-assery?" PIC 1: Inkunzi Strike, belt-fed fully automatic with 350 rounds/minute effective out to 600m and suppressive fire against area targets to 1 000m, vehicle mount either RWS or manually-operated, tripod for dismount under development; PIC 2&3: Truvelo 20x42mm CMS; and PIC 4: Inkunzi PAW. 1 Like
