The huggies gold is fantastic as well (green pack). Please lets be watchful as well. Don't leave your little one with someone you barely know, don't even turn you back for a second. The rate of robbery and kidnapping has gone up! Please lets be extra watchful to avoid stories that touch.

Chanbaby, all these stress is not necessary. I stayed at Westchase and had my son at Oakbend! It ws quiet some distance. If you need your sanity when travellin to av a baby, always mk accomodation a priority! Irrespective of who you av over there, make your own arrangement. There is intown suite on Highway 6. Get yourself your own place! Ur SIL might not be different. Staying with someone for at least 2 months is diff frm 2wks. There are lots of extended stays, look for one so that you will have peace!

You just said my mind, even the SIL that people are suggesting she goes to might not be any better when she gets to her home, because first thing she will think is shebi she went somewhere so why is she here now. So Chanbaby my advice for you is to make your comfort and peace of mind the most paramount thing at this moment, having a baby na 9 months work that has to be ended well to prevent kata kata and trouble, get an apartment via airbnb, research on all these houston apartment people are always giving good reviews that is close to the hospital you are using and move there, no need to tell big aunty you are going beforehand, when the place is set just thank her for accommodating you all along and make up a story as to why you want to leave her house, so she doesn't remind you in 20 years again how you rudely left her house and just go and stay in the serene place, cook your meals, clean at your convenience and have your space to yourself. Just be strong dear!

I have actually made a correction on my sons passport at the US embassy in Lagos... that was like 3months ago. Its not a big deal. You'll have to make an appointment at the American Citizens section of their site. Print the appointment page and download & fill the required form. Stroll up to the gate at your scheduled time (dont go and queue up with visa people ooo grin grin) and you'll be ushered in and attended to. I doubt if they'll request for the receipts although I remember them asking one parent for progressive pictures of his daughter - maybe she looked totally different from the pic in her passport and the consular officer wanted to make sure she was d same person.

Thank you... We already renewed and it was no big deal like you said. We were also told to come with progression pictures as he was just 6 weeks when he got the first one. We should get it in 2 weeks time. Thank you for responding.

Happy holidays!

Hi madam, have you read the thread thoroughly because 8 of 10 mothers here have put to bed in houston and have put a detailed cost of both Hospital and accommodation, you can read part three very well or use the search button, you will find something on accommodation.

Since I discovered pampers premium when in July my life hasn't remained the same

Can't believe i was so stuck on American huggies I never even tried anything else for over two years with my first and 6 months with my second. Oh the wasted money

Now I use pampers diaper and wipes all the way

As for baby milk the minute she turns one innjan we are switching to peak. Plain peak, I don't believe in 123 or any toddler marketed milk. At one the baby can consume normal adult milk

[quote author=damsel020 post=51042644]2nd missionary journey finally over.

Mum Visa

I asked for opinion wen I applied for my mum visa, she was actually denied without them checking anything,so what i did was to write the consular on her behalf nd I also sent a mail to the consular that I have a toddler nd expecting a baby and I need my mum assistance. I also booked emergency appointment, I attached d receipt for Doctor and hospital, so the appointment was approved and her visa was granted with her saying d same thing as previous interview and they did not check anything.

Birthing
I had my baby Oct 1 at oakbend and used Dr Ezekiel, dat morning I saw the bloody show and contraction was regular, so I called my Bro to take me to the hospital, wen we got there we were gisting so the nurse was looking at us like jokers, Wen dey took me to d room to check how many cm I was dilated nd she saw 4cm with regular contractions, she was surprised cos we were laughing nd making  jokes, I refused to take epidural ooo and seriously it wasn't a bad experience, the only time I almost gave in to epidural was wen I was given oxytocin to quicken d process but thank God it ended in praise.

Dr fee- $1,900
Hospital- $2,300
B&A  - $92
Pead- $335
Lab - $119

After discharge we used hope clinic on bellaire and hg6 for baby follow up  paid $30

Picked up baby's bcert on d 4th from Fort bend county and booked appointment at downtown for baby's passport and was asked to pick up d 3rd day.

Thanks to this wonderful E-family, I used visa on arrival, special thanks to De-soul who helped with it a day b4 our travel date. My advice to others is dat ensure the letter from Nigeria comes from an email, cos dat was d only thing that wanted to cause problem.

Baggage

Hmmm, thank God I belong to this forum ooo, Egonne1 already gave heads up on how emirates delayed her bags and advised we snap our bags. funny enough I checked in  13bags, (Note: if u pay for extra bag on emirates that bag can weigh 32kg not d regular 23kg.) while snapping I gave up but one of d ones I snapped got missing and we were told it's in dubai and it will come d next day, all for them to call me that they are having problems recovering d bag dat I should fill d claim form nd all, I had receipts for  all d items and pictures so I sent to them, and my bag was recovered 2 days after. Thanks to the picture they were able to recover d bag on time.

Me I don hang

@ damsel020: Please the 119 u paid for lab..was it from the hospital or Dr ezekiel' s steep test.. cos I got a bill from the lab $119 too after I paid 4 my strep test at Dr ezekiel's clinic

It's 5 years already lol. It's for my son(he turned 5 in Oct)not my daughter(who is just about to turn 2). You're probably mixing up the time line.

How are you and your LO or LOs?

Have a lovely week.

1. Trump wins and life goes on.
2. Trump loses and all hell breaks loose
a) A civil war in the US or
b) the first coup in the US

Hello Folks,

I need some advise regarding this letter of intent thing. My wife has a valid US visa and will be traveling later this month to have a baby. Does she need to send in a 'change of intent' letter given that her visa was issued early last year and she's already used it several times for vacations in the US?

Thanks

How are you and your family?
Take care.

@ladee1

This change of intent letter has been abused and I can see the reason why the VOs just slam new applicants a NO because the next thing is to send change of intent letter.

Madam kindly read through the forum, you will get answers to your questions and even more.
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 5 by KaptainAfrika: 5:14pm On Dec 19, 2016
1. When asked if you were pregnant, did you say yes?
2. When asked if you were going to use this visa, for other purposes, did you say yes?
3. Have you gotten a response from the US Embassy?
4. Have you gone on vacation, with your vacation visa and returned?
5. Did you apply for b2 visa?
If any answer is NO. Ma, I am only saying this because you are pregnant and I might be wrong, its risky as per visa cancellation and god-forbid deportation. Like I said, I might be wrong.

It is a pity what you are going through.
Check Google maps to see if there is a bus route from the hospital to where ever you will move to.Riding the Metro to your prenatal Dr visits and other places will save you a lot of money.
So that you will only need a cab when It is absolutely necessary.
Be strong.

Pls my people how are we doing? Pls I currently have an issue at hand. I was met to use houston methodist sugarland but my sil said it's abit far from her place. Then I contacted an old friend and referred me to her sister but she said it's also far from her end that there is houston northwest medical center close to her. Then I asked if I could stay with her she said no problem. Because of the flexibility of her job she said she could pick me from the airport. I Went with plenty of African food but couldn't buy garri cos I was really stressed out doing the shopping alone. The first thing she she was did I bring garri? I said no. Then she said u were coming Nigeria u couldn't ask what I wanted. I realized I made a mistake there and I apologized and said I will make it up to her when my DH is coming. After 2days she called me and sat me down and said I offended her 3yrs ago and i didnt apologize. That I booked a flight without asking what day was convenient for her to pick me up and I also booked an appointment at th hospital without asking when was ok for her(i can remember I asked her before accepting the appointment date given). Then she said my husband knew I was coming to her and he couldn't call to appreciate her. I apologized on my DH behalf cos he is offshore. Then she said I used to be very proud and rude even though I was staying with her sister. May while she just described herself . I didn't say anything then she asked how old I was I told her she asked me to guess how she is. I knew but pretended not to know. Then she said she is 15yrs older than I am that I was messing around with her then. That I will soon be a mother tha is it with this my attitude I will raise a child. I felt bad in my mind with my attitude a man could marry me at a very young age and has never complained about me but u 40yrs+ no boyfriend. She now said do u know people pay 4 accomodation and utility bills to give birth here. That she is sacrificing a lot for me. That she could have refused me coming to her place but she didn't. She then asked but why ain't i staying with ur sil. I told her the reason being distance but she said that's not true that there is something else. She ranted and said a lot of nonsense. Then I told my DH to call her and she spoken to him without regard my DH was hurt but he just held himself and kept apologizing to her as she was talking. Now she is giving one kind of attitude. I really can't take it cos at my last appointment my blood pressure was a bit higher than the way it used to be back home and I really don't sleep well. Cos her own sil is around to give birth and she asked me to move out from the room for her into her own bedroom but she keeps saying she likes her privacy so I end up laying on the floor in the sitting room or sleep for like 2hrs in her room and come out. Even when she sees me on the floor she doesn't say anything she will just enter her room and lock the door. I don't really eat as such but wen she makes food, is after her and her sil had taken theirs she will now ask if I'm interested in eating. I must say she is doing a lot for me but d attitude isn't good at all. I want to move to my sil place and don't mind the distances (It's about 45mins drive) is it something I should consider? I really don't need all dis I need to be joyful for my baby.
Pls my sil lives at southwest and the hospital is at cypress. Pls people that know houston pls advice me on how I can be getting to the hospital at a cheaper rate. Thanks a lot

Since your wife has used the visa severally for the reason it was originally issued, I don't think she needs the change of intent letter. Let her go prepared with doctors correspondence/appointment and enough cash to convince them at the point of entry. Also, the use of the change of intent letter has been abused over and over again. Its very doubtful if the CBP officers hold it in any regard anymore.

I don't know how to start this but i will make it short as i can and i hope i can get the solution to my problem.I am 33 years and i got married 2014.I got pregnant sometimes around may 2014 but after 3 months i had miscarriage.I changed the hospital after i got pregnant again 2015 November but lost it on my wedding anniversary in feb 2016.The two hospital i used where private and what both said was cervical incompetent.I went to General Hospital and started all over again from fertility with my husband till 3months when the doctors did cerclage, that is the surgery on my cervix to hold the baby .I was in the hospital till last 2 weeks which made it 5 months and sadly i had a contraction and my water broke.i was complaining of pains which was infection as a result of shared toilets in the general hospital to my own believe ,but the doctor don't want to accept it as i am not the only one in the word, funny i have never used a general hospital before in my life, but i was hopeful i will be okay since there is a believe they have best doctors, till i did the scan when the water stopped, the scan showed the baby died already as the water drained.it was so sad to pass through this 3 times, looking at the pains of evacuation and emotional pains.I spoke with my husband who chat his uncle up in USA.The uncle said i should try and get a medical visa and he is ready to write embassy that he has a house i can stay if i come over. i dont know if anyone has this experience of stillbirth and what advice if i have to go to USA,best and cheapest hospital that can be recommended and how can i start all these process.I have being through so much pains,i wish i have a baby right now but i can only hope and trust in God.Where do i start from?
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 5 by Nobody: 10:58pm On Dec 19, 2016
Bevybay, God is your strength and will continue to be your strength, in Jesus name you will carry your own baby surely, just keep the faith and don't relent. Medicals in the USA is damn expensive o I mean very expensive especially for these types of things(fertility ish) but if you can afford it no problem then or if you have an insurance that can cover it. I pray that next year won't pass you by in Jesus name.
