Good day everyone. Please i need your asistance on my case. I applied to centennial college and got admision for a diploma program. Then I was requested to pay 2,300 CAD to get my offer letter which i did. I applied fot my visa on 4-11-16 at VFS in lagos. But my school has sent a mail to me for the complete payment of my tuition fee which i am yet to pay becos of this dollar kpalava. My question now is that, will the payments of my tuition affect the embassy decision on my visa approval? 2, is it possible for my visa to be approved before my date of resumption? Resumption date is 23-01-2017. Please i need your advice.

Please I"ve been having difficulties linking my paper application to my CIC account, I submitted since 10th of October . Although, I have a UCI number. I"m confused whether I should choose the option that says UCI AND FAMILY DETAILS.... Cos I"ve used the family, passport details option .... Still no application found!

Hi friends!

Just to report that I landed safely yesterday. I also want to share list of documents required at POE to help our new thread followers. I landed at Toronto, passed through security/custom checks, filled an asset declaration form (showing that I do not have up to 10,000CDN or more with me handy and then went direct to the Boarder Services to get my Study Permit.

First, the officer will ask (Where you are coming from and Why have you come into canada - what did you come to do). Tell them your country and that you are here for studies.

Documents:
1. Acceptance Letter from School (showing that you met conditions of admission. Come along with any document satisfying any listed conditions if any).
2. Introduction Letter from CIC (the visa approval letter).
3. If you have paid any fees, show evidence.
4. If there were vital communication between you and your school (maybe via emails), do print them out. You may need them.
5. And of course your Int'l Passport!

Once done they will ask you to sit down and then call you in few mins to hand over your permit to you. Next thing after that is your Insurance (Health Card). If your next connecting flight is almost ready, they will tell you to go and complete that later when you arrive at school. If not, you will do it there and fast.

With your study permit in your hands, you are welcome!

I stayed back in the Airport to open bank account and paid in my cash (USDs) into my Canadian Account, got ATM card, Online Banking Logiins, etc within 30 mins. Very fast!

I'm writing from Regina, and I'm all fine here. Aside the UNFRIENDLY COLD AND SNOWY WEATHER.

I wish all travel & trv hopefuls success. I will always help with anything I can. Cheers guys and thanks for the gurus who provided help and guide during my application and travel.

Wilfred.

In all the few western countries that I have either stayed or visited... minors are not and will not be required to pay tuition!!... Canada however will not be an exception... I have friends with kids who attend schools in Canada and they do not pay tuition ooo!!!

There is a part of cic website that clearly states that your tuition is free from kindergarten to end of secondary.. .... The only exception are the private schools...
I am certain without doubt that the school you attached herein is private....
I have information that the Catholic and Baptist schools are somewhat the best cos they help the children maintain their morals and values.... Those are also FREE!!!
You will not be required to pay tuition until you are progressing into a post secondary institution !!!
I hope I have tried? ... grin

Once it's ready, you will get a pick up mail/sms from VFS. Alternatively, Call or chat with a VFS personnel to get info on ur passport.Or better still, give them a week from your approval date for transmission from the embassy to VFS.

Keep tracking on the vfs website... It should tell you if it has left Accra and consequently the visa application centre sends you a notice on receipt of your package.
It's another waiting session... you can't plan with them. May take up to 7-10 working days to reach you!! When are you flying?.. Tickets are on the high side now ooo till mid January I was told.
Regards.
