This is nt rocket science man. It takes a great amount of works nd planning to even move up the ladder by one step.
Who told u the other economies are sleeping? They too are equally planning nd working with the best of expertise at their disposal with all hands on deck.
If gov. Ambode had mentioned that he wants lagos to become the first, i'll ve taken him as a joker nd an unserious man.
It's good that Lagos has set 3rd as the target (remember they ve to displace the current 3rd nd 4th). Whn the achieve that feat in the years (yes, years) to come, they can then evaluate their goals nd visions, restrategise nd the set a new goal/vision which shld then be to become the 2nd largest nd then, more hardworks begin again.
Hope u understand the work involved nw.
Its not that he doesn't know all these, he is just one of them.

You don't get, aim for the best position and if
at all you don't make that target, you will find
yourself getting the 2nd or 3rd position which
wouldn't be a bad result cuz you never settled for less.

Leaders and sensible people in general set targets and goals based on on their capacities and achievable objectives, not on mare words and unrealistic target that renders many leaders untrustworthy.

The same state setting the 3rd largest economy goal was once the 7th and now the 5th largest economy so common sense should tell you that the 3rd largest goal is not a stationary goal and the ultimate goal is number 1 in Africa.

They have their own economic data and trends to base their growth and projections on which ultimately help them decide and set realistic and achievable goals, but you don't have anything to base your argument on, all you have is your layman and blind argument projection.

The governor before set his goal like Ambode is doing today just like the one after him is destined to set his own goal too to better the economy and take it to the next level.

IMF measured Nigeria's GDP, right?
So who measured the Lagos state GDP Ambode quoted?
Did he measure it by himself or what?
Please provide the link.
Thanks.

Even the total Nigerian GDP, IMF gets it from the nigerian officials, stats department.

IMF does not go around 207 countries conducting GDP stats. They info they relly on is supplied by the government of the particular country. Its up to the country to submit reliable stats, else it could backfire when given stats are not reflecting what is happening on the ground.

Why do you think there is no FDI's coming to Nigeria currently?
