Thrash! Nigeria really has a huge problem...

In 2006, Rivers state population was about 5.4million, so what these people are saying is that 10 years later being 2016, the population reduced? Lies from the pit of hell.

I don't believe any statistics coming out of Nigeria.

Crap. Thank God there are other data sources that give a ballpark estimate of current state populations, like the one below gotten from the Telcos, courtesy of the same NBS, where you can easily deduce the most populated states in the country. The good thing about these sort of numbers is that they're devoid of ethnic/tribal, political or sentimental colorations that have always plagued national censuses. These are reliable enough data that points to the actual estimated population of each state as at today, whichever way one chooses to slice or dice it (you can choose to add 1 or 2 million to any of those numbers, doesn't make much difference in the end):

Are you counting non-nigerians join?

Too bad.

Not just Kano state but uneducated, petty Muslims from Northern state, getting married as poor as they are to 4wives, 24 kids that will definitely turn to almajiri. Likewise Muslims in Yoruba land and others, getting married very early with no meaningful job, giving birth two times in a year, every year and you expect what?

Talking from observation, I don't know of other tribe but I know Igbo's are safe and moderate.

2-4kids is enough for an average rich family, and 2 enough for a poor man.

Why should that matter? The population of a state is what it is. E.g If a Yorubaman or Togolese is counted as part of the population of Anambra state then he is a part of that state's population. It's that logical and straight-forward.

Anything built on lies will not stand.

The country is living in deception. Thanks to the British.

We have never had any credible population census and they are not willing to issue National ID cards which will expose the lies of crooked census figures.

It's all ethnic and religious agenda by satanic agents of injustice. They are anti development and promoters of oppression and slavery.

Lies will last so long, but ultimately truth will catch up and overtake.

Nigeria is the ONLY West African country with the anomalous population distribution where the northern arid zones of West Africa supports more population than the southern rainforest belt near the Atlantic ocean.

In every other west African country, the southern areas have more population than the northern area EXCEPT Nigeria.

If you dig into this anomaly, you will discover Nigeria is the one that distributes resources based on population. Little wonder why merely counting themselves is such a hugely important event to rig in favor of the north.
See Northern Politics at it best. Lol.

Kano! - 13 Million Plus!

Lagos! - 8 Million Plus ke!

Let the Northern Elites keep playing their game, Kano ke! 5 years from now, Kano will not come near Lagos in terms of both POPULATION and Social development.

population has always been used as a political tool for fraud in nigeria. only in nigeria u see coastal populations reducing while population of those living in deserts keeps increasing at geometric rate.

If Kano was 9m and Lagos 13m..the figures would have been more acceptable by most grumblers here.

The truth is you cannot separate culture/religion and population...the average lagosian marries one wife and have 4 kids. While the average Kano man marries 2-4 wifes with 12 kids. How do u expect the two regions ro have same demographic index. You must be sick in your head!!!!!

Buhari & his cabals at work.

So Kano increased exponentially while Lagos is fixed at under 10million people.

All these plans are geared towards 2019 election.

Kano, Kaduna, Kastina in top 5.

Do the calculations.
