Who doesn't know that census has always been skewed to favour the north, Nigeria is the only country in the world where arid and dry areas outpopulates the more rainy coastal areas. I have traveled from Kano to Dutse some years ago and all I saw were goats, sheep, dry land and sand dunes for Kilometres non stop 2 Likes |

RockHard: You are intelligent to debunk this Northern lies using the stats by the telecom industry. Pls create a thread for this If the percentage proves that they are more humans in the South 55% than in the North 45% By the time you put into consideration the fact that more Southerners live in the North than Northerners in the South, that figure will put the population of Southerners 55%-75% to be far ahead of Northerners 45-25% 2 Likes |

i think kano can be more populated than lagos because the size of kano is about 7times that of lagos state. lagos will definitely have more population density but kano will have more people by the virtue of its size. 1 Like |

Nigeria is a country where well known theorems stand on their heads, how can an arid region be more populated than water bounded areas? How can Kano be more populated than Lagos? In population projections of the world,Lagos is always mentioned when u hardly hear of Kano state. It's this same injustice that is used in distributing resources, imagine Kano and Lagos were created at about the same time bt now between that Kano and Jigawa which was carved from it, they ve about 71 L. G. As where as Lagos still has its old L. G A of 20 which was the main reason y Jagaban created L. C. D. As in his time as governor and which the North kicked against using their stooge O. B. J.. Nigeria is injustice personified... |

Godstraight: You sound like Buhari, an economic illiterate. For GDP per capita which is the most important GDP measurement seeing that it takes population into consideration, South Africa ranks 87th in the world while Nigeria ranks 12th. How many people buy new cars in Nigeria? You are not ashamed that Nigeria is one of the largest importers of used cars globally? And you want to compare importation of used cars to new cars? Smh |

ConqueredWest: Far higher percentage of Southerners are active in telecommunications than the North as well as school enrollment and banking thereby making those factors extremely biased in terms of statistics. Nigerian population will remain a mystery until having high population is made unattractive. |

Our political arrangement should be made to nullify the effects of population inflation. Regionalism is the way out to the extent of regional fiscal and socioeconomic autonomy that will render all the inflammatory postulations and estimates useless and only feign relevance within the deceitful region. As someone with some knowledge of different zones in Nigeria, I don't accept Kano being more populous than say Ibadan as city to city comparison. When you combed through the rural areas, of course you can claim Hausas has huge rural populations, may be to an extent but you know how long it will take you to transverse their states before you get to count sizeable number of towns, I mean, how do you just assume such bogus figures? If Nigeria is serious about its census its a simple thing, use biometrics with registered house address etc. Kano state cannot be more than 6million residents and Lagos state like 15million residents but you may wish to see a state like Ogun having up to 6million . |

nwabobo:I think you need to work on you comprehension I was only trying to correct your earlier blunder when you said south African had a bigger market, PPP is a blend of GDP per capital and population, sA is 6234,while Nigeria is 3,124,but our population is 3.5 Thiers and the south with 90 million peeps with almost 90% of the gdp is has a better GDP per capital than 3,124 so even the south alone already have a bigger market, am not intreasted in politics just a random so am not trying praise anybody,Nigerians buy used car,do we also buy used electronics? or other stuff imported here, south Africa and Nigeria both are not rich countries so why the fuse |
