Bros nr b beef ooo, I use redmi note 2, have seen others using redmi note 3. Even redmi note 4 is there for you to see. The handwriting on the wall is clear, apart from price there is no where Mediatek can compete with Snapdragon. Mediatek has a lot of catching up to do apart from increasing the number of cores. Battery life is not good, and low light performance for camera is especially poor. No need for any argument, MediaTek are doing a great job but they are not there yet. I can't even compare with Exnos or Kirin.
Best Kirin is better than snapdragon 821

Thank you very much for your response. Which of the banks have 200 dollars monthly limit, because I might need to open a new account. Also, how long will it take to get to me in Abuja?

Access Bank offers $200
All others have $100 limit

Some of their (Access Bank) branches in Abuja have instant ATM..... Open your account and pick up ATM same day.

Thank you everyone for your kind responses. I just want to make it open that if you have gone through this process and stay in Abuja, please pm me or ask me to pm you. I really want to do this and I don't want to make any mistakes especially with the postal address to use and stuff. I will be very grateful.

Ignorance for some, choice for others.

I will say 99.9% are unaware, most people buy what's available in there country, whether you are in Africa or Europe.. Secondly, after sale service is another issue; God forbid if that your mi max stops working today, imagine the hassle you have to go through just to return it.. Xiaomi's main market remains China and India, but I see them expanding into other markets in the near future..

BTW why is Xiaomi not focused on Africa.

I can only assume they don't see Africa as a potential or they are making plans silently. Grandmufti should know better

Here is what i did about the postal code issue, i went to the post office my self and asked the lady OTC to give me their postal code and also asked her to show me the appropriate way to fill out my address.

Just to add this: From what she told me i gathered that the most important thing is a correct phone number and postal code, get that right and your package is safe.

I Dont really understand the process too, mine is with hong kong airline but its says 'departed from origin country'. I thought there is supposed to be 'dispatched to overseas country' (something like that) to show the goods has been departed.

Your package is still in China but the status should change to *despatched to overseas* soon.

The 152mm leather case. Don't buy from the seller of your phone. Though mine hasn't arrived, it's similar to the one @onj bought and he said it fits perfectly.

Thanks have gotten the cases sorted out but I was actually referring to tempered glass, any perfect fit?

This is the major issue here, unavailability of service centers or repair parts , many fear they could be stuck with a useless device if anything should happen to their phone.

Yea, after sale is what many people fear. For me am already used to it. Apart from changing of screen and digitizer, then maybe change of battery and flashing of roms, I don't see how the afters sales service of the likes of carlcare can be of help to someone. The best part may be replacement of faulty devices which is very good. But I can solve over 90% of these myself and even quicker. I understand many cannot do what we do to get our phone fixed. I just feel this after sale thing is exaggerate, afterall I still have an Infinix zero that couldn't be fixed up till now. In another case, a friend's infinix note 2 fell in salt water and refused to come up. Took it to carlcare they said we should deposit #21,500 because the panel and screen were badly affected, and new phone was #32,500. Na so we pass run.

I see, btw how is the size of your Mi Max, how does it compare to a Samsung note in terms of size?.. Am really tempted just for that big battery but the size worries me. Am using a one plus one which is 5.5 inches..

Even if they have service centers, chances of getting a defective device replaced is <30%. If your phone packs up, just get a new device. Their warranty is 10 days grin grin. That's why their market share in India is dwindling. There is a huge market here in Nigeria, but I'm not sure if they are ready to spend money. They also had license issues in Brazil and they packed up. So that's basically xiaomi for you. See them see potential to hammer, dem dey dull

It looks far bigger even in pictures, but when you handle it you'll be surprised.

Hello xiaomi enthusiasts,
I've been trying to fund my AliExpress pocket for a while now but to no avail. Opened another account but same issues with d error message as seen in d screenshot below. Please, what should I do. The cc is taking eternity to fix this. Using GTB MasterCard. Account is well funded & active for Online transaction.
Kindly advise.

You're very correct ...
The so called calecare are just there... Your
phone gets fault you will be asked to pay almost 70% of the cost.. just for repairs...
Even when you pay it will take forever to repair

What's the difference between them and buy a Xiaomi

If you buy a Xiaomi any software issue can be solved online..
If for parts just purchase and find a good engineer to fix it
