when accusing people of corruption or wrong doing, avoid using absolutes & extremes. allow room for rationalization. it doesn't mean you are wrong in accusing the person, but it shows you are willing to look at the variables & possible causes of certain actions.

Due to the current recession, a day per work is #4000 but because of the nature of the work lets say it is 20k per day(with 20k /day i wil resign my work and join them ), and it takes them 30 days to complete the job in assumption that they were 100 in number, pls follow me with your calculator,each laborer will receive 20000x30=600,000(oboy this people don become offshore workers overnight oo) ,for 100 worker=600,000x100,total money spent on the project=#60,000000. that is 60 million naira.I don't think is corruption, it is called empowerment.For we to develop as a nation we must punish every form of crime/corruption.

The question here is not whether he executed the contract but if he used his current position as SFG to influence the award of the contract to his company.

IG Wala only just exposed the companys lack of expertise in vegetation management by posting these pics.

The contract amongst other things included for the removal of obstructive vegetation .they are supposed to uproot from the roots not just cut at water level.


In a few months these weeds will grow back agaon and they will award another mutli million naira contract.

This is not a case of whether the contract was executed or not,or whether it was inflated rather it's a pure case of graft where a public officer uses his influence and position in government to corner contracts to his personal business concerns whether or not he's still involved in the direct running of such companies he has business interest in. That my friend is the bone of contention here and it's a clear case of corruption,period!

I am not saying SGF is right or wrong but this method of cutting would be far more beneficial to the immediate local econmy than using a mechanized method (swamp buggy) as this method would create employment to the men in the area which will also boost petty trading.

since this is a reocurring thing why not just purchase the amphibious excavators or something and give it to the appropriate authority naija and their crooked ways of doing things

Nobody said he looted funds.

As a govt official, he was accused of abuse of office by awarding contracts to a company in which he is major stakeholder.

Such an act is also a form of corrupt practise.

There is difference between manually using the locals to clear a swam water channel and using what we call swamp buggy.

Swamp buggy will upload the root of the plants and make it easily accessible for boats and canoe. What this people are doing is not worth a million naira job if I may tell you

have you read the terms of the contract? Do you know if it is for clearing and maintenance for a certain period of time?

When corrupt people are caught red handed they wil always include other projects to it.Cutting of grasses and digging of borehole doesn't go together.
