Teamie...welcome to the

Thanks @enque, and dexterush.

I am so happy this morning that she poo big time.

What I did was to give her warm water, I make sure I change my diet and started taking oranges and more water.

Also, I made sure I gave her EBF for two days without adding formula then gave her very warm formula and she pooped big time.

Thank you all

Mamas, pls what insecticides do u use at home that effective for prompt and permanent eradication of mosquitoes. I have tried raid, seems its perfume for them lol, scared of using mortein liquid, the one that is plugged to electricity since I had my ds cos of not knowing the effect it would have on him. The whole house is netted, and he refuses to sleep under net and mosquito don't spare anyone embarassed. What do I do. Is there anything i can rub on him to prevent mosquito bites? Abeg mamas put mouth oh...

Please stay away from sniper.

It is a highly toxic pesticide that has actually been banned in many countries and it's such a shame that it's been sold and used so brazenly in nigeria.

A thread on this sniper issue was created a few years ago and a lot of people shared their terrible experience from the use of this chemical.

It should not be used indoors or inhaled by an adult how much more a baby.

This is the link for the thread:

https://www.nairaland.com/1318973/how-safe-sniper-go-90

You can read more about it's associated dangers on wiki:

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dichlorvos

There are ways to proactively prevent yourself and your baby from mosquito bites. I will share my approach later this week.

Finally, mosquitoes can never be totally eradicated. It's just what we have to live with - thanks to the hot climate, poor drainage system, etc.

Good day mamas in the house. Pls I need ur input on this. My ds now has a huge navel that seems to be getting bigger. Funny thing is, it did not start out big. When the cord fell off and all his navel was small oh. I noticed the diff in size wen we returned from a scan recommended by his paed. I'm really worried that it wud keep getting bigger and not shrink. And Google only talk about navels that were originally big. Pls any mama experience this, feel I shud be doing something about it, but really dunno wat.

Experience Mothers in the house, your help is needed once again, please my daughter will be turning 5 months and i really want to know what other formula apart from breast milk can be given to her or is it still too early to start introducing her to other food apart from breast milk.

let me share my experience with you, i was covering my daughter everytime and suddenly she started having heat rashes on her head and all over her body, i was so scared and cried, i had to call my elder brother who is a doctor and he said we should allow air get to the child and observe the environment and when it is hot we don't need to cover her too much. He recommended Bactroban ointment and we applied it and the rashes are gone. Ever since then i don't over cover my daughter. Even my wife too was scared, she called her doctor and still got the same answer as i did. so my own candid advise is to observe the environment if it is cold please cover and if it is hot be allow air to get to him.

It's cos her system isn't yet able to process the food and it's normal.

As she grows, her digestive system would process the food better

It's not a problem with time her system will be able to assimilate the food properly.

5 frontal teeth can't chew nah! So all non pasty/liquid food is going to come out almost undigested.

No its not too late for rota vaccine.

Pls don't wrap baby up inside this heat o! He's a human being too and feels hot the way we do. One layer of cotton cloth is enough in this heat. Open windows for proper ventilation but be mindful of when it starts getting cold in the early hours of the morning. If you must use fan make sure it's not directed at baby.
Cheers

Ideally it doesn't take a long time to heal.though mine took about 6montha cos of a dangling flesh at d site,I was told it wasn't well arranged during stitching.d stitches should dissolve in 2 weeks anyway, just continue ur sitzbath

I hear they call that flesh granulation tissue.
What did you do about yours? How did you get it to heal?

Mine was a not so gud experience, 3months after delivery I n my dh met and it was messy,we bruised d flesh and it bleed.went back to hospital n dey gave pain relief n asked me to repeat sitzbath and abstain for some time which I did.
D flesh gradually shrinked,I woke up onevday n discovered it has dissolved that was around 6months after delivery.don't worry about it,it will dissolve

This is exactly what Doctor told her - to give it more time and exercise patience.
I have a close pal who delivered about 5 months ago.
She was already considering silver nitrate to burn it off, told her to chill first, she's scared because it's getting to 5 months now and no sign of healing yet.

Happy New Year Mummies & Daddies in the house...I hope y'all had a wonderful holidaying period...Me and my family really had a swell time..All thanks to God.
My boy is growing fast and will be 6months this month, only problem I have with the dude is that he does not like to eat. Feeding time for him is a nightmare for my wife as he would cry and try to bring the roof down, but will immediately start smiling when the food is finished(very mischievous kid, I don kuku buy cane keep for am)We started with NAN 1 immediately after birth because wifey's breast-milk could not quench his appetite, infact his first meal after birth, when breast-milk could not quieten him was NAN 1 borrowed from another woman in the ward, fast-forward to today, they suggested we introduced Pap,which we did and mixed with the NAN 1, fist day he ate well, next day cry and eat session started...we were advised to buy cerelac that it is sweet and he would love it, I bought the HONEY+WHEAT+MILK combo and he still cries when been fed...Is he just been naughty or is it that he does not like the food.
Can Cerelac be fed to him as a stand alone milk? We usually mix it with his pap.
What other food can we buy to complement breast-milk which does not quench his hunger?

Advise from other experienced mums needed

I experienced exactly the same thing. Time to eat is world war 3, after eating he starts smiling.

1. Stop forcing him to eat. Make little food, so the food finishes before he gets tired, then feed him more often.

2. Maybe cerelac is too thick. Try frisogold rice. It's very smooth. Make it very light, so it will be like he's just drinking water.

3. Continue giving nan milk. Alternate meals between friso and milk. Milk is necessary for nutrients.

4. Introduce food. He may prefer eba to all these oyinbo tins. You can also cook sweet potatoes and carrot, then blend to be very smooth. Then cook beans to be very soft, and blend. Things like that sha. But please avoid cooking his food with salt.

5. Cerelac is not milk, it's cereal, same as pap. So you have to mix his pap with milk. But you don't need to mix milk with cerelac or friso with milk, they already have milk

You don't wish you were there o. The heat is crazy. Lo even lost appetite due to discomfort.

Heat rash, Sun burn. Meanwhile the child will now be soaked in sweat, leading to catarrh and cough. Abeg the heat and humidity just too much.

Lo was now like baby coming from abroad lol

Help a first time mum.

Didnt even knw lo is meant to poo every day until I saw mums complaining here. We are on EBF, lo takes like a week to poo after her last poo. What can I do to help her poo everyday or is it normal for EBFers.

On Episiotomy, I am one month two weeks postpartum, the wire fell off last week, thought I am healed down bcuz I dont feel pain. Went intimate with dh and felt pain (not sharp) inside like he was hitting a stitch site, dont knw o, but shaa felt pain, we had to stop. Could it be I'm not completely healed or what?
Experienced mum help please.
