Some days back, my younger sister smashed her s7. After filing some paperwork online and paying around $50, they sent her a brand new one. **edit It was actually $150 20 Likes

FrankNetter: Bro, it baffles me. In civilised countries u can air views and even criticise d president openly but do it here and see if DSS doesn't come knocking. Most recent is d RCCG saga. Yet some fools will come here and say Nigeria is home. Mehn fvck all those people saying trash here. Watch and see what happens to Trump he doesn't do well in office. Only thing Trump does to his critics in US is tweet-bash them but am sure if it were to be in Nigeria he'll just make use of EFCC or DSS.... 12 Likes |

PlayaOne is one of those people who came abroad and didn't plan his life. After years of being a "playa" while his mates were grinding and built a good middle class lifestyle with assets, he has finally opened his eyes on the opportunities he had and eventually wasted. Now ashamed and embarrassed he needs to make excuses for his successful or lack of it abroad. So now he's running around discouraging people from coming abroad, and blaming racism and everybody for his lack of success abroad. Notice he hasn't taken any responsibility as well? Is someone putting a gun to his head and making him stay in America ? I'm 31 and in Canada, all my mates who came here all own houses and drive nice cars within 6 years after arriving. My cousin who just came here 4 months ago as a skilled worker just landed a entry level job at a major bank taking home 2600 Canadian dollars per month after taxes. You do the conversion. That's a entry level position. And he has his own apartment and about to get a car, not to mention he has the luxury of living in a country that provides everyday amenities (running water, constant neppa, etc). How many 31 year old can accomplish this in naija in 4 months unless there papsi was one big politician stealing money ? The funny part is, my uncle (his dad) was originally against him migrating here. Now he thanked God he did. He use to be one of those naija patriots (like playa), even he can say youths in naija have a future with a straight face anymore. Playaone is a fool. Original onye ara. Don't mind him. Come abroad and you will not regret it, I promise you! Your destiny is literally in your own hands here, no bullsh!t. You work hard you'll be successful period! 105 Likes 13 Shares |

You just said everything I have in mind. Many years ago, some of my relatives will come back from obodo oyinbo, dey will tell me America no easy o,too much tax,too much work, too much stress, bla bla bla.For my korokoro eyes, they will buy houses, import cars of different types, containers coming in to naija every 3 months, and they keep saying America no easy. One day,I told myself, let me also go and experience the "e no easy life" without letting them know am coming... Am enjoying the "e no easy life better than my bank work of almost 10 years..... If you are talking about Racism in America, what about Nepotism and Favouritism In Naija.#Think.. 79 Likes 6 Shares |

maternal: You hit the nail on the head. If you work hard and plan well... you will succeed in America. That is what is missing in naija. I had my own home and car by the time i was 28 (and i only came here at 23) - how many Nigerians back home can say that? If you spend your time buying jordans while your mates were studying... please blame yourself for your own failures. 56 Likes |

You will feel the same if you moved to central europe (norway, sweden, denmark), life and environment in these places are far far better than what you get anywhere in the US. 10 Likes |

All these success migration testimonies would make one feel all he has to do is get to US or Canada by any means necessary...be prepared to work hard and success is guaranteed. Note... all those testifying are abroad legally, with Green Card and had family support. Overstay your visa in these times or enter illegally.... that's when people become trapped period. And yes, whatever his name that is having a hard time is probably one such person. Bottom line... look well before you leap if you intend to migrate...you can end up on Heaven...or Hell. Instead of planning how to migrate illegally it is better to visit and check out the real situation..... there is sooo much you can see that if business minded, you'll forget about staying and prefer to travel to and fro doing business. 18 Likes |

As others said, this is a country that rewards hard work and education. No, it's not easy. But if you can get the required education, and you are hard working, you will succeed. The system is well structured, so you do not have to make tons to buy a modest home and live comfortably. As a software developer that works downtown Chicago, I take the train into the city daily on weekdays for work. I come across tons of tons of Nigerians/Africans doing the same thing. Working in corporate America and commuting into the city from the suburbs. The opportunities are here. You just have to take the bull by the horn and go after it. OTOH, there are tons of Nigerians that are not doing the right thing and find themselves in unfortunate situations. Heck! Majority of the cab drivers in the city of Chicago are Nigerians/Africans, and most of them are doing okay as well. 11 Likes 1 Share |

https://www.nairaland.com/3566165/make-shake-head-dismay-recruitment#52706355 Where are playaone, pidgin2 and their cohorts? Are all these sh!t happening behind them? First time I got to Leeds, I didn't know one can have PTSD of electricity, I stayed days without power interruption, I suddenly started feeling guilty of having stayed this long without power interruption. Days later I started getting paranoid that it'll go off, inside my mind, it must and should go off. That was the mentality I grew up in Nigeria with. When I came back, I met power but within 3 mins, they took it. This is just electricity and we have a host of issues. Basic amenities are necessities but in Nigeria it's a privilege. Everything in Nigeria is a joke. These sorry-a** hypocrites talk about Racism, what about tribalism, nepotism and favouritism in this hell-hole? Everything has been centred in Lagos, you can barely do anything serious without going through Lagos. PortHarcourt port was strategically and systematically shut, everything comes through Lagos. Those hypocrites don't see these things? Where is it done in a civilised country? An average Nigerian man wants a good job and a good life but the politicians will use religious and tribal sentiments to play on their intelligence (that's if they have any). According to Maslow's hierarchy of needs, it's physiological needs first but here in Nigeria, the reverse is the case. Most Nigerians aren't smart and it's a pity. Anyone that has schooled abroad will know that the education system in Nigeria is a joke. My younger sister wasn't feeling too good during her exams, so she called in sick, they took it into consideration and deferred it for her (she can write it when she gets better) and that was exactly what they did. You can't do that here. Their system is flexible but here it's rigid and that's why there's no progress here. The hypocrites mentioned fighting, NEWSFLASH: In a social setting, it's bound to happen (Didn't you guys come across it while studying in school?). Here's where it's different, outside here, they fight, stab and shoot (at least you know who did what and why), in Nigeria, even when you fight or just quarrel, their's 80% chance that "Babalawo" or "Dibia" must be involved, if it's not to kill the person, it'll be to make their entire family useless. Am sure you guys didn't and don't know FrankNetter, why come to his thread and vomit unsolicited garbage you guys call "Words of wisdom"? Offer those advise to your family members, infact stop them from ever travelling out, SIMPLE! 54 Likes 2 Shares |
