i would like to purchase a new generator but lost as to the best one to buy. i currently use TEC Igwe which powers my whole house but am being advised against the brand now that it isnt as good as it used to be.

saw a Tec Optima 9200 ES/RS today and was considering it but wary of the recent comments i have heard.

Which brand is the best and would last? my Gen powers TV, Fridge, Freezer, Microwave, Iron, Samsung Side by Side Refrigerator (some items are used interchangeably)

will appreciate your recommendation @enochogaga.

get elepaq or sumec

Hello,
My TEC generator is running but doesn't seem to produce enough current to power the house.
Before this, the current was fluctuating.
I just changed the AVR and the problem still persists.
could it be that the AVR I bought is bad or is something else responsible.
The guy I called to fix it was saying its likely the coil. I just asked him to leave it.
The gen is less than a year and I barely use it.
Its 3500 kw

Your silencer is probably leaking and that could also explain the high rate of fuel consumption or your carburettor needs servicing.

Get a tech person to have a look see and if leaking get it welded if it still can and replace and watch the fuel consumption. If same then have the carburettor serviced.

Copper is far better and more reliable than iron (aluminium) coils.

Copper coils.is your best bet. Dont compromise.

if the engineer u contact said is the coil, why dont just listen to him, if he is really sure of what he is saying, but i think the engineer suppose the use diode first instead of avr, then he can really detect the fault fast, as for me i dont realy think is the coil is the fault, is ur Avr,but am not really sure, cos if am there, it will not take me 3 minute,i have pick at the fault. but am 80% convince is ur avr due to ur explanation is issue.

if is frm the sialeser check the paking or if there is any leakage, if it till persit then change it,
adjust the fuel consumption screw, and low the firing speed.

Thanks.
I still believe its the AVR. I want to believe the new one he brought might be faulty too.
Why I wrote him off was because he didn't even come with a voltmeters to read the output. This is something I would have done if mine was not bad. The was a place he also bridge a capacitor I had to tell him to put it off cos Its too lame for a supposed professional to do.
I will go to TEC Office to get a qualified technician.

thanks

copper is the best, how do u know is copper? any gen writing 100% copper on top of the tank, 99% of then are alluminum not copper.
but u can hardly see sumec, elepaq, and luthian product to come with alluminum.

Oga been following your thread. Good work!
Please I need a Generator (Petrol) that can power 2 ACs (1 hp each) 1 Fridge/Freezer and other general household items like my 42 inch LCD TV, with Home theater, PlayStation Console, 3 standing fans, 2 laptops , 6 phone charging and about 15 energy saver light bulbs. Please what power rating output and/or manufacturer will be best for this purpose.

NB - both AC's wont be on all the time, mostly 1 at a time

Re: Professor On Any Type Of Generator. by novakk: 11:45am On Jan 14, 2017
pls help choose between this 2

sumec firman eco1990s 1.8va
https://www./sumec-firman-generator-eco-1990s-red-675906.html

lutian 3.5va lt3600
https://www./lutian-3.5kva-generator-with-key-starter-lt3600e-black-5544401.html

mainly used evenings, to power 200l fridge, led tv, laptop, 3bulbs and a rechargable fan.

price is not important.
i was inclined to the lutian based on the fact there are no fakes, has a key starter and it will give room for other gadgets - e.g. a small ac/washing machine later. However run time per fuel load is very important to me. 15L for 12hrs compares badly to the sumec which is 5.5L for 9hrs. daily usage, and the running costs will climb steeply.

Which is better? I dont know if the runtimes stated are cast in stone. Should i go for the lutian, maybe running it with low loads will make it consume less OR the sumec and manage how many appliances i switch on?

Thanks.
