Hungry fellows!

Taa! No be Naija Police? They will "catch" you for EVERYTHING!

One stopped me the other day because there was "no original Road Worthiness", meanwhile it was on the Windscreen o. I wasn't in a hurry, I had his time. Besides, I committed no offense.

At the end of the day, they always have one question... "Anything for the boys?" angry

Honestly these police guys are something else. Was driving through festac and police said I should park. He looked at all the papers saw everything was complete and up to date only for him to say my tire was not properly inflated and that's an offence. I was so mad I came down and shouted what do you mean. The guy just said we should go. I was really pissed

2. No engine number on vehicle papers:
Most car owners overlook their engine number because it is hard to see on the engine block. Some believe they are the same with the Chassis/VIN number. If police catch you, you will know the truth. These guys know the exact location of the engine number on most cars. It’s better you take the pain to search for it now than fall victim later.

I've fallen victim of this. The guy that registered my vehicle skipped the engine number. Many officers have checked my particulars and never observed it until I ran into some hardened policemen. That evening, all the cars they stopped were my type and model.

To show me where it is, the officer entered bush, cut a stick to scratch the dirt on the engine block. It didn't appear well, he now went into their hilux, cut foam from the passengers seat, (now you know how their vehicles loses value so fast). He then used the foam to clean the engine block and showed me.

He asked for 50k. Said, he'd declare my vehicle stolen and myself as the suspect. I wasn't ready to pay a dime. Eventually we went to the station.

They refused to take the case to the desk, then I realised the case wasn't a big one, they just needed money for that friday night. As night was approaching, I called a friend who lives in the area for moral support.

Long and short, for "wasting/taking" their time, we parted with 6k, 1k for each person on their patrol. I wanted to give 2k, actually but the lead officer now said, "how dem go share am?" My guy now added 4k.

The thing vex me.

Following Monday, I went to court for an affidavit with a police extract to cover it, all for 2k.

The actual reason FRSC and VIO skip the engine no is the trouble it causes when your engine is replaced. The engine no will be different and renders your documents invalid even if you have 11 months on it.

My car engine no is totally hidden from police, it is at the rear of the engine close to the bottom plate (oil sump). It is practically impossible to see it unless you use a lube pit or jack up the car and lie under the engine.

Police man must show it to me before he can claim a fault else i will tell him my car has no engine no. Only the engine model is written in front and its hardly view-able because of the intake manifold. He has to remove my intake manifold to see that.

I dont drive with original papers in the car. All photocopies and the order is drivers licence first.

If police say, "wei your drivers licence?" i give the bunch of copies. If they say "wei the particulars?" i give the same bunch of papers. Same with FRSC. FRSC will first want to see the drivers licence so as to withhold when they find an offence. As long as they know you have a valid unexpired copy of the licence, they know you will not go down easy as it has to be a serious offence which your car will be impounded.

I was going on my own jejely with my bag at my back when a police man suddenly stopped me and ask what I was carrying in my bag..

Me: it's my laptop in my bag

Police : can I have the receipt of the laptop

Me: I don't have it here with me.. I don't carry it along

Police: you must be a fraudster, you are a thief, you must follow me to the station, infact you are under arrest...

Me: (to the police ) do you have a phone

Police: yes what with it

Me: d'u have it here with you

Police: why are you questioning me

Me: Nothing but can I have the receipt

Police: I don't have the receipt with me.. Are you expecting me to be carrying the receipt all along.. ??

Me: Fine.. If you can't be carrying the receipt of your phone with you everywhere you go.. Why do you expect me to be carrying the receipt of my gadgets everywhere I go.. Infact if I'm to be under arrest we must be remanded in the prison together..

why are you so crazy about Siena.... why are you so after him.... why don't you care about his home and kids.... why don't you have mercy on his poor wife?

above all none of us in cartalk will forgive you for making him disappear.

My dear, get your facts straight before making comments on issues you know nothing about.

I am NOT crazy about Siena. Never was, never will be. He should have considered his kids and wife before shamelessly coming to me.

I didn't make him disappear. He left on his own accord, BEFORE I even told his wife anything. He left since July, I told his wife in Sept/Oct. No correlation.

He felt Nairaland was "coming between us". His words, not mine.

I'm sure you can still find his number here on Nairaland. Contact him, and stop asking me Jamb questions.

As for the forgiveness of folks in Car Talk section, I don't need it. None of you is feeding, financing, or f*cking me. Your "forgiveness" means sh*t to me. Keep swallowing aspirin for Siena's headache.

This is the last time I'll talk about this, and the last time I'll reply you, Praxisnetworks. Get a life, and mind your business. Aproko oshi.

Enjoy your week. smiley
