I saw it coming, the result of igbo campaign against the only Glory left on the Yorubas. Sad souls called igbos are just too senselessly greedy. They become economic Power by kleptomaniacally raking in our money in Millions by importing substandard goods to our Yoruba Lands and selling them to us, yet we don't complain or envy their becoming dominant economically. Whatever satanically shallow-minded igbos can't have, they'll try to ensure Yorubas don't have it. They are hell-bent on removing every iota of Glory remaining on the Yorubas, the only position GOD place us as the 1st currently in Nigeria, Africa and the World is the Church. I've noticed a new trend being spread by Jim Obiewee and his other igbos stooges, scandalously touching the anointed Ones of GOD just because they are Yorubas. I bed, if they were igbos all the evil things being spread against these wonderful men would never be. Thunder, Lightening and Fire of GOD that called these wonderful Men of GOD shall shatter u evil-minded igbos to irredeemable pieces!!! Sad souls called igbos shall NEVER find Peace!

I see no reason why universities and other business concerns owned by religious organizations shouldn't be taxed. These businesses are not charity organizations.











According to the tax law regulation, all educational institutions are exempted from paying tax including other registered NGO's. It's not only limited to charity organizations. And moreover these private institutions pay other levies to kick off their operations. License is part of it, and what of the scholarships granted to the poor and other social responsibilities performed by them. And moreover it's only going to lead to a waste of these organizations resources on the part of the irresponsible government we have in place. The ones they're collecting, of what use have they effectively put it.

Truth may be bitter but we have to say it. had it been the Missionaries that introduced religion+education commercialised it, You and i will not have opportunity to be educated or liberated. Nigerian pastors collected offerings and tithes from the congregation, use the money to invest in other sectors and yet the pastor and his family still lay claim to the church and businesses, they don't accountable to the public, they made their sons or wives as there successor. it just like in business world, once u make your company public, you don't have 100% control over it. Let us stop deceiving ourselves. Nigeria faction of Christianity is totally different from what is obtainable elsewhere in other part of the world. may lord lead us aright

That you did a good thing does not mean you should not be accountable.

Churches are NGOs (not for profit),
Schools are not NGOs (for profit).
Is it Churches that are asked to pay taxes or the profit making schools?

The point is Churches that own businesses should pay tax on the businesses. Nobody is saying Churches should pay tax from offering/tithe monies. Since tithes/offerings are donations, accountability is all that is asked.

A Muslim calling for tax on churches. I don't blame him. I blame Christians who lead the way in critisizing their faith publicly,calling for tax on their own faith,attacking their pastors publicly etc.
And when you do that, the Muslims will join us to critisize our faith and it's leaders while shielding theirs jealously.

There are boxes for freewill donation to fund noble causes like building of schools or mosque renovation. Paying is not a requirement.

The law is for the mosque, church and all non profit organizations. Its a global code of conduct. Just newly being introduced in Nigeria.

I fear for people's reaction. It applies equally to everybody. Its a control measure to help the masses/public.

And those that paid in church , were they forced to pay or held at gun point? They freely gave it to the church, I see so many stingy people in the moslem community, many are rich but don't give, how many mosque has dangote or fashola or tinubu built ?
But my own brother has single handedly built and furnished a 2 storey building in an Anglican church

Actually , Churches that do businesses pay tax since such businesses are for profit making!!.

I'm surprised that some people don't know this!!
What is being clamoured for is that churches,mosques and other religious organisations which are classified as NFPO are being targeted to pay taxes now
