Unfortunately I don't think there's anything you can do about the recent app tray

but You can pinch/zoom out the recent app screen to change it to icons. I find that bit easier on the eyes

Download Google launcher or arrow (Microsoft) launcher.

What MIUi version did your 4 prime come with. Already downloaded the Global ROM, but yet to install (don't know how to, plus don't want to brick the phone).

It came with 8.0.6.0.0 I cant remember I saw it once...
I flashed immediately I receive the phone to global ROM..

It very easy, Since its an official ROM

Follow the Link http://en.miui.com/download-320.html

also I hate the fact that all apps are in the home screen. can it be changed?
Use any 3rd party launcher , Nova Launcher is highly recommended.

LOL, the standard bundle is $169.99 with tempered glass and silicon case you are looking at $176 with $6.58 for shipping,it's almost $183.

Wow, I was lucky then...My Total package was 139.99 Only Glass...
If anyone want to buy mine for 52k
I dont mind, Xiaomi has won me already, Thinking of Mi5 or Mi5s.. cool

Seem pretty easy to do judging from what I read above. Thanks.

How about bootloader?

By the way, it should be 8.0.5.0.0. That's what I currently have on mine.

You are flashing official ROM so it is not required.
Seem you need to unload Bootloader for Custom ROM or Downgrade ROM
However mine worked flawless, took only 30minutes for all the process download transfer to phone and updated.

From what I read, Recovery is when you use the Recovery mode to flash the phone,
Fastboot, Involve using the MIUI flashing tool on PC to flash, there you have to unlock the Boot loader

It's the most disappointing thing in Xiaomi.
Makes multitasking a pain, scrolling back and forth just to get to recent apps. sad

I already have the global ROM downloaded. I should just go ahead to move it into the root folder, then update, right? Even though it's on vendor ROM..
