I think Trump may actually be good for the H1 visa programme as it is being abused by companies especially Indian IT outsourcing companies. It is well know the Indian IT outsourcing companies (Tata, Infosys, Cognizant etc.) play a numbers game with the H1 visa and flood the system with applications each year and as you mentioned they pay the workers the minimum they can get away with. This makes it difficult for applicants from other countries e.g. Nigeria. Bossman: 8 Likes |

I absolutely agree. They have taken over IT. As I type this, I am sitting in a room with 17 of us here cranking out code. I am the only non-Indian consultant here. I am a citizen of course. One of them has GC. The rest are all H1. crazy! ttmacoy: 12 Likes |

Bossman: Any hope for H-1B cap exempt jobs? |
Re: Yankee: through the eyes of a village boy. by ttmacoy: 6:22pm On Jan 17, 2017 |
H-1B cap exempt jobs are good given you do not have to deal with the over subscribed quota system, but as you may know there are certain requirements to qualify as a H-1B exempt job or employer. So especially if you are in the STEM field getting a job with a non-profit research organisation or university is a good route to get a h-1B visa and later on a green card. H1B Cap Exempt Employers: Who Are they? The H1B cap does not apply to organizations filing the H1B petitions if they are institutions of higher education (or related non-profit entities), non-profit research organizations, and government research organizations. Many foreign nationals are not aware that these companies and organizations are exempt from the H1B cap and can sponsor an H1B visa any time of the year. 1.University 2.Government 3.Non profit organizations 4.NGO 5.Hospitals obinna5000: 3 Likes 3 Shares |

Bossman: Big thanks Bossman for all your post and insightful advice. Please if I may ask, what sort of programming language are you using in your firm to code or in high demand in US? is it C/C++, C#, R , Pearl, Python etc,or a proprietary platform you are using for all your day to day coding?. From what you posted earlier regarding how lucrative it is to have computer programming skills I found somehow generic, that is why am asking this now. And beside is there any certification needed to enhance ones programming skills?. Thanks . @FrankNetter we're really enjoying your thread, wishing you very best in all your undertakings. 4 Likes 1 Share |

So,I went to ease myself and found out the toilet has some sort of sensor. The moment you finish urinating and take a step back to zip up, it automatically flushes. See me stepping front and back to test the theory. Luckily, noone else came in at that time. 49 Likes 2 Shares

I develop in Java. I have worked at several firms all very BIG firms with head quarters here in Chicago. Insurance, Bank, Retail. These are all firms with huge IT shops. Doing Java/Java Enterprise (Webservices - both REST and SOAP, Spring/Hibernate frameworks, etc.) development at all these places. Database knowledge is critical as well. All the apps talk to some form of relational DB (Oracle, MySQL, etc.) PS - Let's not derail this thread, as this technical stuff may not mean much to some. Please PM me if you have any specific IT/Programming related questions. Also, you can search the programming forum here for my ID. Have not posted there much lately, but I used to respond to questions there a quite a few years ago...Don't know if all that stuff is still accesible. LadunaI: 5 Likes 2 Shares |

Megyn Kelly, who just moved to NBC from Fox News, will be paid $20 million per year. In other words, she will be earning over $88,000 every day she works Of course, her income after tax could be around $11 million. But it's still a lot of money. 4 Likes |
